Hair Transplant with Dr Tejinder Bhatti of Darling Buds, Chandigarh India

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys,

I've done the right thing here and stopped hijacking other people's threads and created my own!

I'm 24 years old, and have been losing my hair since i was 17. I really wanted to get some hair back after losing it at such a young age.

This year, after months of research i decided to travel to Chandigarh, India from Sydney, Australia to undertake a hair transplant under Dr Tejinder Bhatti of Darling Buds. I consulted many surgeons, and he seemed the most knowledgeable and experienced. His long list of credentials spoke for itself, and his degree of professionalism influenced my decision.

He advised that an FUE transplant was the most appropriate for my goals; so on the 19/06/2012 after a 12 hour procedure, 4000 grafts were transplanted from the back and sides of my scalp to the top and front of scalp to reconstruct the hairline.

These are my pre-surgery photos.

Really impressive for 3 months.Given how challenging your case is it's probably already what most would consider a really good final result, Congrats!

sup dude,

This look really good. really fast growth. How much hair did you have before the surgery. i cant tell cos you had your head shaved. is the growth on the top and front of your head only the transplanted hair's or some of your old hair mixed in also?

Hey Buddy,

Congratulations on your HT! The results look fantastic for 3 months. It'd be great if you could share a pre-HT pic of yours without a shaved head which gives a little idea of where exactly you were pre-HT.

It is encouraging to see a FUE HT for as big a session as 4000 grafts. This is actually contrary to the belief that a mega-session like this would have to be done through FUT for a good graft yield and quality.

Happy growing and do keep us posted on your progress. :)

Cheers

P.S. - I am in India and require a 4000-4500 grafts session myself. I plan to do it within this year but still indecisive between the never ending debate of FUT vs FUE.

BTW bro, you did look like a close cousin of Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson before the HT :D. Not bad eh!

Jordanal - As you can see from the photos i had close to nothing on top. Norwood IV. If i grew my hair pre-surgery i would have looked somewhere along the lines of George Kostanza (that's why i shaved it!). So the hair on top you can see in the photos is all the transplanted hair.

shane13- Thanks for the kind words. I don't have any pre-ht pics without a shaved head because i never grew my hair when i was bald on top otherwise i would look like an old man! As you can see at only 3 months i have had excellent graft yield. I don't believe that you must have an FUT for good graft yield. There are many variables which come into play to ensure you have good quality growth/yield. The most important is the skill, technique and process of the surgeon/nurses. Then there is the after surgery care, supplements e.t.c. They all play an important role. I think it's incorrect to state that you must have a FUT to achieve good results. I always keep my hair fairly short, plus i work part-time in the wedding industry so it was most fitting for me to have the FUE scarring as opposed to the FUT scarring.

Haha Dwayne Johnson! No Wayyyy lollll

Johnny,

Thanks for sharing your experience and progress photos showcasing your hair transplant with Dr. Bhatti. As you know, I've been in touch with Dr. Bhatti and in the process of considering him for potential recommendation on the Hair Transplant Network. Thus, it's encouraging to see one of his patients sharing their experience and photos.

Like some of our members have already stated, the work looks good and your growth so far is excellent for only 3 months. I look forward to following your journey and viewing more photos as your results progresses.

Best wishes,

Bill

No, Dr. Bhatti does both FUE and FUT.

But, I think they mostly do FUE only.

However, I think he does FUT if either the patient specifically asks for FUT or if there aren't enough grafts can be extracted using FUE (in that case he uses FUE + FUT). There is a video he has posted on youtube, have a look.

That's correct. He primarily does FUE and in rare cases on patients insistance goes for a FUT or a combo.

From what is mentioned on the web, he seems to be a very strong proponent of FUE. Even his website very categorically advocates FUE and lists a comparative chart between the two highly recommending FUE over FUT.

Johnny24 - Thanks for the pictures and comments about how your procedure went with Dr. Bhatti. I am 37yo now and have had 2 FUT procedures over the last 7 years with a well known provider in Bangkok. While the HT's have certainly given me a lot of more hair, I need some more work to restore hair density in my crown area and temples.

The worst effect of the FUT procedure is the ear-to-ear scar it leaves. I cannot cut my hair too short, and even when I tell the barber to 'leave some length' usually it ends up short enough where the scar becomes visible.

My HT doctor in Bangkok is a proponent of FUT, but I have no desire to have my scalp opened up yet again, so I have begun looking for a FUE alternative. A few doctors whom I have reviewed here in the States show great results, but the cost is astronomical!

I have been researching several FUE doctors in India and I think this is the direction I will take to get the FUE procedure I desire without draining my savings.

Thanks for sharing your experience. It very helpful to me in determining which HT doctor to choose. Please keep posting your progress!

Hey john,

Overwhelmed with the results.

I have been contemplating Dr. Tejinder for a while now but just haven't got the gutts to go ahead and do the transplant as Im pretty scared of doing a surgery. The doctor has recommended that I too do about 4000 grafts, I guess thats his magic number.

Im somehow gathering the gutts to go ahead and do the surgery sometime during the end of November.

I have been in discussion with the Doc for a while now but I would like to know how it was for you.

1) Did you experience any pain during the surgery or post the surgery?

2) How soon did your donor area heal?

3) I know you have to wear a surgical cap post the surgery. Were you able to go out or were you stuck in the hotel till the donor area healed?

4) How many days did it take before you were able to go out as Im heading to India for about 10 days and then gotta head back to work.

The results you have got so far are great and I wish I have to gutts to go ahead with this. Just the thought of the blood, 4000 holes in your scalp and 12 hrs of surgery has scared the you know what out of me.

If you could drop me an email and tell me more about your experience and somehow help me gather the confidence I need to do the surgery I would greatly appreciate it .

Hey, does dr. bhatti require head shaving? or do you think he can do a 'concealed' fue treatment (grow back hairs a bit longer, pick up and shave a few rows.

Johnny-

Great hairline design...really suits your facial features. Now, just needs some density as the transplanted grafts mature more over the course of the next 7+ months! 4000 grafts is a HUGE amount for FUE in one session.....I didn't know that physicians were performing procedures that large.

From what I can tell though, the result looks really promising. I would love to see what your hair looked like before your restoration, just for a side-by-side comparison!

Congrats again,

Mike

Hi Johnny, looks great.

I live in Melbourne, i ve been looking where to go to get a HT, i need 4000-5000 at least.

Can you tell me how much you paid for your FUE of 4000 and a bit of experience going to India?

Thank you
