If a patient is able and willing to completely shave the donor area in its entirety, this allows us to extract an optimal number of grafts. This particular patient is an executive from Europe that wanted to do FUE but with discretion so that he could transition seemlessly back into his normal appearance soon after the FUE process. In this situation, we will shave typically one wider band or several narrow bands that can be concealed by longer hair. We then extract without overharvesting throughout the shaved bands. This treatment produced 1301 grafts which were allocated to the frontal region. The patient's goals were met post-operatively and with the additional density, naturalness, and permanency achieved for his new hairline.
