Regular Member MJK259 Posted August 5, 2012 Regular Member Posted August 5, 2012 Hi folks, I spot some Toppik at my crown from time to time. I find that it is almost impossible for me to wash the Toppik out. I have confirmed this using my Celestron USB Microscope (see image). I am left itching and ultimately I have to scrub my scalp to get the Toppik out which takes hairs with it. This pic was taken 6 days after applying Toppik with the sprayer attachment. I had washed my hair at least 9 times during that time. Please help.
Senior Member aaron1234 Posted August 5, 2012 Senior Member Posted August 5, 2012 Woah, that's one hell of a zoom-in pic. Do you use shampoo to wash it out? I simply use baby shampoo at night to wash out the dermmatch (and sometimes toppik/nanogen). It seems to work for me but you obviously have some remnants sticking around. Try scrubbing harder (?), I'm not sure what to say. Senior Member RCWest Posted August 6, 2012 Senior Member Posted August 6, 2012 That looks like a pic from one of those miniaturization test cameras! I've never used Toppik, but from what I've read it should wash out without too much trouble. I have read, however, that having Toppik and Dermatch left on the scalp can hinder hair transplant results, so make sure you get this situation under control if you decide to go for surgery. Regular Member almostdone99 Posted August 6, 2012 Regular Member Posted August 6, 2012 Have you tried dermatch? It seems to be the best concealer I've found, and it washes out easily with shampoo.
Senior Member Bobilero Posted August 13, 2012 Senior Member Posted August 13, 2012 I found Nanogen far better than Toppik for washing out and colourisation. Toppik tended to look unnatural under strong light. Nanogen would also never run in the rain but would shampoo out easily.
