This patient stopped in recently for a Proscar refill and we took the opportunity to take some photos. He was originally classified as a NW4 DPA (diffused pattern alopecia).

This is yet another example of how proper recipient site preparation can allow us to perform surgery safely on patients with diffused loss. He was prescribed Proscar before surgery and 5480 grafts were taken in one procedure. The result you see below is over six years post-op.

amazing results!

I too have diffused thinning, and I'm curious what you meant by " proper recipient site preparation " for diffused thinners? Does that refer to shaving down the recipient area?

Looking great Joe.

2 poor unsatisfactory hair transplants performed in the UK.

Based on vast research and meeting patients, I travelled to see Dr Feller in New York to get repaired.

Yeah, that's most of it but mainly what shaving allows the doctor to do. With proper magnification the doctor can properly match the angle and direction of native hair with the incisions. The blades of the lateral slit technique cause less overall physical trauma to the tissue so when these factors are added up you have an extremely low chance of having permanent shock loss.
