john007 Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 I've noticed my hairline receding/thinning over the last few months. What norwood do you think I am / should I be doing anything at this stage?
Senior Member RCWest Posted July 30, 2012 Senior Member Posted July 30, 2012 It's never too late to start a regimen of Finasteride and Minoxidil. Finasteride 1.25 mg. daily Avodart 0.5 mg. daily Spironolactone 50 mg twice daily 5 mg. oral Minoxidil twice daily Biotin 1000 mcg daily Multi Vitamin daily Damn, with all the stuff you put in your hair are you like a negative NW1?
Senior Member Janna Posted July 31, 2012 Senior Member Posted July 31, 2012 Hi, I'd say you're about a NW2. Whether to do something about it really depends if the hair loss bothers you a great deal. I agree with RC that you should at least start on Fin and Minox to slow or halt the hair loss with possible regrowth of lost hairs. I'm guessing the hair loss bothers you since you're on a hair loss site. Senior Member Spanker Posted July 31, 2012 Senior Member Posted July 31, 2012 You are a 2, headed to a 2A it looks like, you should start finasteride and maybe rogain if you want to do everything you can. I would say if you are about 26, with your level of loss, I would wait another 5 years and see what happens, Stay on fin for at least a year before you decide you have surgery. john007 Posted July 31, 2012 Author Posted July 31, 2012 Thanks for taking the time to reply, much appreciated. Sounds like going on fin is my best approach and waiting a few years on anything else. I'm only pausing on the fin because I'm wondering if there's a chance it'll stabilize here on it's own. My father had some hair loss in his 20/30's and stopped there. Is there anyway to access if it'll keep progressing, or is it just a genetic lottery?

There's no way to know, it's a crap shoot as to where you'll end up on the NW scale.
