bnash79 Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 I've been really contemplating and don't see much posted about which doctors has experiences with person of asian descent. I've seen one recent post from someone who had good results from Dr. Cooley. But are there any other good doctors who are familiar with asian type hair?
Senior Member irishsailor Posted July 18, 2012 Senior Member Posted July 18, 2012 Hi there, I think most of the good docs out there have dealt with people with all types of hair and nationalities. I would spend yr time checking out all the docs on here and trying to speak to as many patients as possible to find the doc who you feel most comfortable with Best of luck Hair Transplant Dr Feller Oct 2011 Hair Transplant Dr Lorenzo June 2014
Senior Member chrisdav Posted July 19, 2012 Senior Member Posted July 19, 2012 Bnash there is a lot of very good surgeons on here. Just research! 2 poor unsatisfactory hair transplants performed in the UK. Based on vast research and meeting patients, I travelled to see Dr Feller in New York to get repaired.
Senior Member RCWest Posted July 19, 2012 Senior Member Posted July 19, 2012 Asian patients are no different than caucasian. Any good hair restoration surgeon will do a good job. African American hair is the tough one because the hair keeps curling under the scalps surface. Being in Tennessee, you will have to travel a bit to find a good one. Finasteride 1.25 mg. daily Avodart 0.5 mg. daily Spironolactone 50 mg twice daily 5 mg. oral Minoxidil twice daily Biotin 1000 mcg daily Multi Vitamin daily Damn, with all the stuff you put in your hair are you like a negative NW1?
Regular Member cargo65 Posted July 20, 2012 Regular Member Posted July 20, 2012 FWIW, my understanding is that Asian hair can be ideal to work on in terms of shaft angle and straightness.
Senior Member hair1978 Posted July 20, 2012 Senior Member Posted July 20, 2012 An important thing to know about Asian hair is that you must find a surgeon that understands the difference in hairline for each ethnicity. A surgeon should know that Asians and Blacks usually have a lower hairline (as low as 6.5cm from mid-eyebrow). Whereas Caucasians are generally higher hairline. It depends on your overall facial structure. http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/home-page.asp?WebID=2294
