Hair color - before & after pics

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I notice in ALOT of before & after pics the color of hair is diffrent, is their any reason of that ? Could that be an Indication that concealers were used in the after pic ? Or could be just the patient dying his hair ?

I notice that my hair after thr transplant is much darker, The reason is that thinning hair is lighter since it is finer and healthy strong hair is darker. I was amazed at just how dark my hair really is. I had forgotten since I lost most of it on top.

aim4hair,

I think a lot of guys start to experiment with hair color and bleaching after they get their hair back. It's part of the fun I suppose. I started graying in my early twenties and did a lot of coloring in the days before hair loss. Once I'd lost a significant amount and was typically buzzing my hair down to a #1 there was no need. After my hair transplants I was able to wear my hair longer again and wanted to cover the grays. But, I'm always changing shades or even letting it grow out so my hair hair is always a different color it seems.

Is there any longterm effect on the hair - transplanted or normal - with hair dying? I've always read that dye will shorten the life of your hair, and I guess this might be more so after a transplant?

Aggressive and frequent colouring can make hair break more easily but should not affect long-term growth.

Cant decide is right. People get used to the lighter colour of their miniaturizing hair in the recipient area. Transplanted hair is healthier and darker. Also, in the summer, longer hair on the sides and back of the head doesn't get bleached out by the sun as much as the hair on top.

Yes, you hit the nail on the head. In my case, I had a certain amount of time I could not dye my hair prior to my ht., so I showed graying in my before pix. As soon as I could, after my ht, I dyed my hair. Having said that, I only use Hair Cycle colorants as it is much better/healthier on the hair, then say "Just for Men".

My transplanted hair is definitely darker than my native hair. The main comments I've been getting from ppl since having my HT isn't the fact that I've got more hair it's comments like "Are you dying your hair now?" or "has your hair always been that colour?" :D
