Senior Member s2thoudriver Posted August 7, 2012 Author Senior Member Share Posted August 7, 2012 Hi Sean, thanks for your feedback and here are the answers to your queries: Q: I don't know if anyone asked you already, was it manual fue and was it done in one day? A: It was using a handheld motorised extraction tool, don't know the name of it, but knew it was only a few months old. They have tried many over the years and stated that the latest one they use is by far the best they've had. They only do surgery in a 1 day session as they don't like to extend the trauma to the scalp over 2 days. The whole thing took about 8-9hrs from start to finish. They are a dedicated team, very hard working and only took 3 x 10 minute breaks throughout the day! (Wouldn't get that in the UK!!) Q: How much was the cost all inclusive of every fee (taxes, medication, surgery), per graft? A: Well, if you take off the teeth whitening etc i had too, it came in at just under GBP 4,500, including everything, pre op and post op. This also included the flight and accommodation in Turkey as well. They don't charge per graft really as it is dictated on the day (due to donor supply etc), so they charge per estimated total based on the pre-op consultation and pictures. They will always get the most grafts they can for each patient to maximise results Q: Was travel inclusive or on your own? A: All included in the price, as well as airport pick ups, travel to the private hospital and post op care pack both in Istanbul and back in the UK Fantastic value, great experience, a great team to work with and the highest quality work. Couldn't ask for anything more. Hope this helps Rob 2800 FUE, Istanbul
Senior Member Sean Posted August 7, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted August 7, 2012 Hi Rob, thanks for the response. I really appreciate the thorough explanation. I actually messaged you because I wasn't sure if my question was visible as I have been having some issues with posting. 8-9 hours seems like a very good pace indeed. I look forward to seeing your results till the end so please continue to post. So, for 2,800 grafts FUE the price equates to about $7,000 US dollars. Considering it included your travel, airport pickup, post op care and return airfare, along with the surgery, that is rather quite a steal. As an inclusive thing it comes out to about $2.50 per graft, however, if you take the part that most round trip international flights cost about $1500 on average and deduct that from $7000, it would come out to $5500 meaning just under $2.00 per graft. But since you said they don't charge per graft, so it is just based on preop consultation estimation? If you are told 2,800 then that is what is extracted? I do agree, it is quite a fantastic value and I really will be following your updates till the end. I think I also asked for the punch size used in the message because I forgot to ask here. Thanks and it does help and thank you for taking the time to write back. I appreciate it.
Senior Member s2thoudriver Posted August 7, 2012 Author Senior Member Share Posted August 7, 2012 Hi Sean No problem, glad i can help. If there's one thing i want to do, it's make sure people on here have excellent procedures, with excellent result, at good prices. The only thing worth pointing out is that my flight to Turkey was from the UK, so would be different depending on where you flew in from. Everything else would be the same. I was advised weeks before the op that i would have between 2,400 and 3,000, so they were spot on. The pace was steady, but they are a well oiled machine! All together there were 6 people in the room working on me. We finished at around 8pm and i only had 15 mins break for lunch to get the follicles back int he body asap. With regard to punch sizes, they used a few different ones depending on whether the follicle was single, double or triple hair. From memory, the smallest was 0.68mm and the largest was 0.9mm, but i would have the check. I'll ask Dr Eser when i get a change, to see what they used. What i can say is that all grafts seemed to fit perfectly, with none 'popping out' or no lumpy skin due to big grafts being squeezed into holes too small. It's all very clean Any other questions just ask. Thanks Rob 2800 FUE, Istanbul
Regular Member Libero1978 Posted August 9, 2012 Regular Member Share Posted August 9, 2012 till I saw this post, I didn't know anything about Dr Eser Aydogdu, I will check and maybe I can visit his clinic. I personally had an appointment for operation with Dr Serkan Aygin. I saw him on a national TV on tuesday. I visited him in his clinic. But I will check for Dr Eser Aydogdu, it is always good to have more information about the others.
Senior Member Blake Bloxham Posted August 9, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted August 9, 2012 Driver, Thanks for sharing. Also, just to clarify, do you have any other connection with Dr. Eser's clinic (besides being a patient)? Senior Member s2thoudriver Posted August 10, 2012 Author Senior Member Share Posted August 10, 2012 (edited) Hi Masato Thanks for the positive words, I'm very pleased (so far) Yes, her and the other surgeons/professors specialist in many types of cosmetic surgery. I will be going back out soon to see a different surgeon for some other work. Their skills, qualifications and experience really are the best. Not sure about being on Dr.Esers website, I'll do a google search and see if I can find it. I do know that I am going to be on some videos though as I agreed to let them video me throughout, so it more than likely is me. [update] I have done a search for Dr Eser and been on her site and can't see any pictures of me. I'd be interested to see any pictures you have so please email me a link and i'll take a look Thanks Rob Edited August 10, 2012 by s2thoudriver 2800 FUE, Istanbul

Senior Member s2thoudriver Posted August 13, 2012 Author Senior Member Share Posted August 13, 2012 No problem future_HT_doc No, i'm not a representative for any surgeon, i work in the chip and pin industry for banks and governments, not the hair industry. I just know great work when i see it, so if i can help others overcome their fears, have the same quality of work and save them money, then i have no qualms in recommending the place i went. Senior Member s2thoudriver Posted August 31, 2012 Author Senior Member Share Posted August 31, 2012 Hi folks, Well, it's that time again, so i thought i would start by documenting my thoughts and experiences throughout month 3. I'll post pics up later, it's just a bit awkward in the office as work colleagues will be wondering what on earth i am doing! So, to try and keep it simple, i'll put the update into different sections/headings. Here goes... Regime - Washing with Alpecin shampoo daily. Handheld laser Raymax LLLT 3-4 times a week (debatable whether this does anything to stimulate the blood flow, but it does not harm, so might as well try). Daily Perfectil hair skin and nails tablets and a multi-vit. No meds, no rogaine. Pain - Absolutely non whatsoever Itchiness - Again non in either the donor or recipient areas Donor area - Now completely undetectable, no redness at all, no punch marks visible, even up close. The hair thickness feels no different to pre-op, which i am really pleased about. I have noticed a few short stubbly hairs starting to grow in between the longer ones, indicating that there may have been some very light shock loss (and i mean VERY light) of individual hairs around certain extraction points. Nothing visible or worrying, just thought i'd highlight it. Recipient site - This is now looking really great! (though i am bias, others may disagree!). The redness has almost completely disappeared, i have only had 2 pimples in total ! Native hairs - Seem to be 100% back to normal now after trimming it short for the op, with no evidence of shock loss to report (i.e growth of native hairs that have shed) Dense packing - As you know, i had light dense packing of hairs in between my native ones in the mid frontal section and mid 3rd of the scalp. These are already coming through and are visible in between the native hairs (identified by slight variation in colour and texture. Growth - This is the part i am most pleased with . It's only been 3 months of growth and the results are really impressing me! I was advised that by week 12 i should be seeing good growth and Dr.Eser was right! Not sure whether this is down to me being extremely fortunate to have early growth, or whether it's due to the work performed, but either way i'm happy. I am in contact with the other patient who had their HT the same week as me and he too is getting very good early growth. I would say that density is really picking up now and there are even more short ones popping through in between the longer transplanted ones. The angle and placement of each graft is very natural and gives a great perception of density from all directions. Hairs are already starting to take on the natural characteristics of the native hairs from the area, less curly and wirey. Looking forward to more growth over the coming months, but i'd be happy with what i have so far, big difference in both the look of my hair/hairline and my confidence!! Pics to follow later, but any questions in the meantime, just ask. Senior Member s2thoudriver Posted September 3, 2012 Author Senior Member Share Posted September 3, 2012 Hi Zenmunk Here is a pic of the donor site for you, taken on Saturday morning (so hadn't really styled my hair!) As you can see, it's fully grown and nice and thick. I can't tell the difference between before or after the HT, very happy! Any comments, questions or feedback are welcome. Not getting much response really, but will endevour to continue documenting my journey anyway. Thanks Rob 2800 FUE, Istanbul

Senior Member Bobilero Posted September 3, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted September 3, 2012 Nice early growth there Rob. The new hairline has taken shape now and will only improve in the next few months. Exciting times ahead, You are definitly in the early growth bracket which must be a good feeling. Please keep updating as i think this could be a great result and another viable top class FUE clinic in Europe.

Senior Member s2thoudriver Posted September 4, 2012 Author Senior Member Share Posted September 4, 2012 Thank you for the feedback guys, much appreciated. Yes, things are getting exciting now, the density is picking up and i can still see really short ones just poking through, so the next 2-3 months will hopefully be great! I too think the hairline is now well defined and frames my face well. I'm starting to be able to style the hair a bit more now the hairs are growing and have actually had to trim some of the ones that never actually shed as they are getting too long. I endeavor to capture as much of this process over the 12-18 month period so people see the full development and detail of a HT journey (to sound all X-factor!) Senior Member s2thoudriver Posted September 27, 2012 Author Senior Member Share Posted September 27, 2012 Hi all, Well, it's the 15 week mark now, 1 week off my 4 month anniversary pictures. Whilst i would usually wait until the anniversary day, i thought i would put up some pictures a little early after having a hair cut and style yesterday at Hedz International. They are very pleased with the results (as am i!) and the early growth i have been getting and commented on how it is now thickening up very nicely. So, to follow on the format from my last update, i'll put the update into different sections/headings. Here goes... Regime - Same. Washing with Alpecin shampoo daily. Handheld laser 19 (not 21 as i first thought!) Raymax LLLT 3-4 times a week (debatable whether this does anything to stimulate the blood flow, but it does not harm, so might as well try). Daily Perfectil hair skin and nails tablets and a multi-vit. No meds, no rogaine. Pain - Still absolutely non whatsoever Itchiness - Again non in either the donor or recipient areas Donor area - Short stubbly hairs (presume shock loss) found last month have been growing and it continues to thicken up nicely. Redness gone, no visible punch scarring at all. Recipient site - This is now looking fantastic. The redness has almost completely disappeared and is only visible under heavy flash light, not one more pimple either Native hairs - Seem to be 100% back to normal now after trimming it short for the op, with no evidence of shock loss to report (i.e growth of native hairs that have shed) Dense packing - As you know, i had light dense packing of hairs in between my native ones in the mid frontal section and mid 3rd of the scalp. These are now blending into the native hairs nicely. Growth - This is the part i am most pleased with . It's almost 4 months of growth and the results continue to impressing me! I would say that density is picking up even more now but there still seems to be even more short ones popping through in between the longer transplanted ones!! The hair is now staring to take on the characteristics of my native hair and is less wavy or dark. I think from here on, it will be a case of thickening up more and further changes in texture. Loving the new hair cut and the guys have done a great job of blending the transplanted hair with my native hairs as they grow at different lengths. Hope you like the pictures and any questions or feedback are welcome as always. Thanks A happy Rob 2800 FUE, Istanbul
Senior Member Mickey85 Posted September 27, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted September 27, 2012 Happy to hear it It's always good seeing decent sized FUE work being done. Senior Member s2thoudriver Posted September 27, 2012 Author Senior Member Share Posted September 27, 2012 Ok, here are some 15 week pictures for you. These are all taken with the flash on to show you the hair looking at it's thinnest. They also put some 'shaper wax' type stuff on which makes the hair look wetter than normal (i usually use the drier putty type styling products). All looking good though and starting to blend in very nicely, i'm over the moon with progress so far. Last picture is how my head feels compared to how it used too when receding/thinning badly!! Enjoy.............. Thanks Rob 2800 FUE, Istanbul
