Alonso8579 Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 Hey all, I am 25, used finpecia for about two years and went cold turkey on it bcz of noticing sexual sides off late. Before quitting finpecia I have increased my dosage to 1mg /every day. Usually it used to be 2~3mg/week. By increase of my intake I have observed sexual sides along with high hair shedding. But I gotta tell you lot of shedding is of thin hairs and sexual sides are subsiding after quitting finpecia. Last time I swallowed finpecia was 5 days ago and I guess its not completely out of system yet. Started applying rogaine from 3 days on hair by advice fellow posters, and noticing high percentage thin hair shedding. Shedding lot of thin hairs compared to thick hairs. Is this a good sign? Since my increase intake of finpecia and recent applications of rogaine on my scalp causing me a high hair loss. With all these hair loss around and lot of thin hair shedding should be worried? Please advice. I have a posted a thread on my finpecia story in this forum, please refer below link Ref : http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/166176-side-effects-finapecia-after-2-years-should-i-continue.html
vstar Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Hi Alonso8579, I would also love to know about this..I only used rogaine for a few weeks but stopped because I was seriously considering a ht and was told to stop 2 months in advance..i put it mostly in the crown and i feel like i lost more hair initially and because i stopped using it ..i just lost those hairs and nothing grew back because i stopped using rogaine..so i'm curious if hairs do fall out initially and then potentially those hairs grow back along with other balding areas, darker and thicker?
Senior Member TakingThePlunge Posted June 1, 2012 Senior Member Posted June 1, 2012 Generally, when starting medical hair loss treatments, patients should expect to see shedding of those fine miniaturized hairs. Some of those hair, if they were on the verge of dying, may not regrow but most should start to come back in thicker and darker at around the third or fourth month.
