Senior Member BadBeat Posted May 10, 2012 Senior Member Posted May 10, 2012 So I started using Zizoral about a year ago, along with 1.25mg of Fin. About six months in I started noticing that I was having a massive shed because when I would apply the Rogaine Foam at night I would see at least 5-10 hairs in my hand. I just kept thinking that maybe it was a seasonal shed or maybe my hair loss had rapidly progressed (I'm 38 now and have been slowly receding since 21). I started to look diffuse all over but was able to cover it fairly well with Toppik. After about 3 months of this I read a post I believe from Spex who mentioned the dangers of shedding while using Nizoral so I completely stopped using it. Well, sure enough, about 1.5 months later, it's rare to find even a single hair on my hands after applying the Rogaine. My hair is starting to look fuller as well and not as diffuse as it was. Is it possible that that massive shed was really due to just the Niz? Could it be that the Fin is starting to kick into high gear a year later? Obviously, I'm thrilled that my hair is looking better but I'm really trying to figure out the exact reason.
Senior Member RCWest Posted May 10, 2012 Senior Member Posted May 10, 2012 Nizoral once a week is fine, but like Spex said anymore can cause a shed. My hair seemed to thicken up because at one time I was using it every night or every other night! Finasteride 1.25 mg. daily Avodart 0.5 mg. daily Spironolactone 50 mg twice daily 5 mg. oral Minoxidil twice daily Biotin 1000 mcg daily Multi Vitamin daily Damn, with all the stuff you put in your hair are you like a negative NW1?
