This patient is 36 years old and was a class 3 going into a class 4. We did 3,108 grafts to build up his hairline and add more hair to the mid area of the scalp. Patient is also on Propecia to help control further hair loss. Post-op pictures are 13 weeks after surgery

This is a nice natural result for such fine hair. I love the way you are doing the presentations lately. Do you have a hair/graft breakdown?

Finasteride 1.25 mg. daily

Avodart 0.5 mg. daily

Spironolactone 50 mg twice daily

5 mg. oral Minoxidil twice daily

Biotin 1000 mcg daily

Multi Vitamin daily

Damn, with all the stuff you put in your hair are you like a negative NW1? :D

RCWEST,

Thank you for always appreciating Dr. Panine's work. The breakdown was

1,022 singles, 1253 2 hair grafts, and 833 3 hair grafts for a total of 6,027 hairs. The singles were alll placed in the hairline, which was followed by the 2's then 3's.

The hairline looks really natural. He looks like he may have had some further loss is what is now his mid-scalp. Hope he sticks with the fin.

Spanker,

You made a very good point once hair loss starts there is always a possible for more hair loss. This patient was on Propecia for a year prior to his surgery and as of today his hair loss has been stable with no further thinning. The reason Dr. Panine kept his hairline conservative was taking into consideration the possibility of future hair loss along with available donor which his is still good for atleast another 5,000-6,000 grafts. We always explain to everyone of our patients the potential of future hair loss and the importance of Propecia to help maintain pre-existing hair. As far as I know this patient has no intention of going off the Propecia, but you never out the with any patient how long they are going to stay on it.
