Senior Member Stuart01 Posted April 3, 2012 Senior Member Posted April 3, 2012 This patient had two procedures done back in the 80’s that left him with very visible “plugs”. Needless to say the results were terrible and this forced him to wear a hair piece for the last 20 years. Although the patient hated wearing a hair piece, he hated the thought of ever going thru another hair transplant procedure more. He feared that he did not have sufficient donor area left to get him the natural look he wanted. After coming to meet Dr. Panine he was convinced that Dr. Panine would be able to make a big enough difference for him that he would be able to get rid of his hair piece. With a patient like this Dr. Panine was really able to exhibit his artistic ability in creating a natural hairline with a patient that had old “plugs” in the past. During the first session the patient received 2,216 grafts. Due to previous scarring in the donor area, Dr. Panine undertook a cautious approach as he knew the patient was going to come back for an additional session. All the grafting was done to the frontal 1/3 of the scalp during the first procedure. The patient returned 2 years later for a follow up session. The second session placed 2,563 grafts. Of the 2,563 grafts, 1,132 were added to the front area and the remaining 1,431 went into the crown. During the second procedure Dr. Panine also removed some old plugs that were in the patient’s right temple area. Here are the patient’s results 8 months after the 2nd session. I am employed as the patient coordinator and office manager for Chicago Hair Transplant Clinic. Feel free to ask me any questions. Senior Member Blake Bloxham Posted April 3, 2012 Senior Member Posted April 3, 2012 Stuart, Excellent transformation! Additionally, the "plug" removal in the temple region is fantastic. Altogether, a great result. Nicely done!
