Hey guys this is my first time actively trying to re-grow hair!!!

I'm a 23 year old guy and have been experiencing hair loss for about 2-3 years now. Ive been experiencing it mostly in the frontal areas near the temples, i have no hair loss on the crown or the vertex. I still have PLENTY of hair its just very thin in the frontal area especially with hair longer then an inch. After shaving off my hair last week i noticed my hair is growing very slow in the frontal area and very thin.

My hair has stopped falling out BUT last year i had put on a lot of weight due to stress and work by eating tons of sugary and processed foods. That is when I experienced MAJOR hair loss in a period of few weeks! I would simply pull on the frontal area and it would fall out. I believe my diet and life style is the reason for this happening at such an accelerated pace. How ever a year later my hair loss has stopped and really i feel i just need to regrow it with minox.

For the last few weeks I've began exercising hour a day and changed my diet to a strict, vegetables, fruits, and lean meats diet and have lost quite a lot of weight.

As for my hair routine this is what ive been doing for a week now:

1- 5% minoxidil/rogaine 2 times a day

2- Nizoral shampoo

3- Mega Men nutrients

4- Biotin, MsM, Saw palmetto supplements

I've been considering Propecia but feel its not necessary since i haven't experienced hair loss for a year now and feel i just need to re-stimulate growth in that region with minoxidil and vitamins... Is this okay for me to assume? Or will the hair loss continue without fin?

Questions-

1- Will rogaine work on the frontal region of my hair?

2- Why is my frontal hair area growing so slow what does this mean? Do i have genetic balding? And what can i do to make it grow faster

3- Has my hair loss ended since none has fallen for over a year? (so i dont need fin?)

4- IM thinking of adding Nioxin or Foltene to my routine is this too many drugs?

5- Should i add any vitamins or stop taking certain vitamins that i mentioned?

THANK YOU

Nutrition & vitamins are fine for healthy hair & body etc, but this won't slow down the loss or block the dht that the follicles are sensitive to. Propecia helps & regaine slows down loss & promotes new hair. Definitely consider propecia, don't just listen to people saying they have side effects from it- you might be different or might not be but it's worth trying. 3 years I've been on it & my libido is fine. I take 1mg a day for now. Try a quarter tablet if you want & see how you go

Do you have children? have you ever felt temporary sexual side effects of propecia? And can you provide a link to the % of people who have had negative side effects?

So how much of your hair did you recover nearly all of it? I know its alot of questions but thanks

Alberdan, if it is mostly in the frontal area, without any pics, I can only guess it is a maturing hairline? That can look like hairloss to younger men.

Finasteride 1.25 mg. daily

Avodart 0.5 mg. daily

Spironolactone 50 mg twice daily

5 mg. oral Minoxidil twice daily

Biotin 1000 mcg daily

Multi Vitamin daily

Damn, with all the stuff you put in your hair are you like a negative NW1? :D

actually its frontal and mid scalp it seems to be working its way to my vertex although half way their.

Basically i shaved it all off few days ago and noticed most of my frontal hair and mid region are growing thinner and slower then the rest of my scalp(vertex, crown, sides etc) which is disturbing

Another question is nizoral worth it? I heard it blocks DHT to some degree, can it cause any negative sexual side effects?
