Johnytrack131 Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 My mom's side of the family has had some hairloss, so im afraid id be going through the same. I'm 18 and here are some pictures of my hairline, what do you think? ImageShack Album - 2 images
Senior Member Dutch Posted February 26, 2012 Senior Member Posted February 26, 2012 Use Rogaine foam, you have very minor loss if any. Propecia should be considered too http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/home-page.asp?WebID=2329
Johnytrack131 Posted February 26, 2012 Author Posted February 26, 2012 Thanks for the current advice, does this foreshadow any future balding?
Senior Member BadBeat Posted February 27, 2012 Senior Member Posted February 27, 2012 It's impossible to tell for sure where the hair loss will end up. You say there is a family history of hair loss so it's good that you are addressing it now. Could just be that your hairline is maturing. Keep in mind that if you start Rogaine and/or Propecia it's pretty much a lifetime commitment.
Senior Member RCWest Posted February 27, 2012 Senior Member Posted February 27, 2012 Most guys on here would do ANYTHING for your hair!! Although the pics aren't the best, from what I see your hair is great! If you have any doubts, start Finasteride. Finasteride 1.25 mg. daily Avodart 0.5 mg. daily Spironolactone 50 mg twice daily 5 mg. oral Minoxidil twice daily Biotin 1000 mcg daily Multi Vitamin daily Damn, with all the stuff you put in your hair are you like a negative NW1?
Johnytrack131 Posted February 27, 2012 Author Posted February 27, 2012 The reason this scares me is that at the very front of the hairline, you can see small thin hairs, which are really flaming my paranoia. Also I went to one dermatologist and she perscribed some zinc and vitamins. Should i consult another doctor? And about the family history, all of the men in my mom's side are balding in one way or the other, my mom's father had balding, and my two uncles. However on my dad's side it's the exact opposite, all have hair with the worst being vertex baldness at old age. And are there any rogaine alternatives? because lifelong commitments at this uncertainty are just too much of a risk....
Senior Member RCWest Posted February 28, 2012 Senior Member Posted February 28, 2012 Johny, I think those short thin hairs are what is left of your juvenile hairline. You are at the age where a male starts getting his V shaped mature hairline.
