syamexpress Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 i have a small doubt.the doctor is going to share all my remaining hair before transplantation? and How they transplant the hair? i mean grown hair or only they transplant hair roots?
Senior Member richie48 Posted February 4, 2012 Senior Member Posted February 4, 2012 Mate even before entering into the hair transplant mine field , you really should have done some more research , you should already know the answers to these questions ! Not all hair transplant surgeons shave the recipiant site , there is a differing opinion between surgeons as to the pros and cons for shaving down . Dr Feller shaves down the recipiant area, as he feels this gives him more control over avoiding disectioning any exsisting hair follicals and avoiding shock loss , he also feels it gives him more insight into where the recipiant meets the exsisting unshaved areas . Some surgeons prefare not to shave down and some will not shave down if the patient is 100% against it . So it really depends on your surgeon , who you should have really reaserched very well before signing up for hair transplant surgery ! Again the answer to you second question depends of the philosophy of your surgeon , by this I mean some surgeons transplant longer hair with the folical to show the patient a sneak preview of how they will look in 12 months time , the hair , however still sheds between 2-4 weeks after your transplant and then takes between 3-4 months before starting to regrow . Most top surgeons tranplant the folical with the hair still attached at around 6-10mm in length , this helps the technicians to have greater control over the folical placement , orientation , depth and direction , all this helps match your exsisting hair for the most natural result . But you would have known all this and the answers to your questions if you had carried out many months of research into your surgeon to see if you are going to recieve the best treatment and results . Good luck bud , i hope this infomation helps to put your mind at ease . richie 2100 crown grafts Dr Feller nov 2007
