Dilemma-Vitamin/Mineral V/S Cost/Value

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I'm Male/30/72 kg./180cm. from India suffering from hair thinning / loss for past few years.

This post is for Junios here or People like me who are facing Vitamin/Supplement V/S Price/Quality/Availability Dilemma

I've planned to start some non "DHT Inhibitor" treatment for my Norwood 4/5/5a & thinning hairs with Minoxidil 5% (topical solution) & Ketoconazole-2 % based shampoo but got too confused on vitamins and supplements.

I'm not too sure but I think I'm ALSO suffering from followings which might or might not be responsible for my hair thinning/loss.

1. Midlife crises http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midlife_crisis

2. Delayed sleep-phase syndrome (DSPS) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delayed_sleep_phase_syndrome

3. Dandruff (looks like I've overactive sebaceous glands, though I'm not sure) Http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dandruff

4. Back Pain http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Back_pain

My food/work routine for past few year's were very bad so I knew I have to pump up my vitamin/mineral/amino acids intake.

What I've understood from internet & other sources from a layman's perspective.

Posting here so others / juniors like me get some info and Seniors / Doctor's can advice us.

Juniors like me here should learn and read the supplement or medicine contents/compositions to figure out what exactly it contains & for expert info ask here in forum.

Example:

Cobalamin means Vitamin B12

Vitamin B6 is Pyridoxine and Vitamin H is called Biotin or Vitamin B7

mg= milligram

mcg= micrograms

g= gram

kg= kilogram

1000 microgram = 1 milligram = .001 gram

I know all Bald-win's are smart, but still just to put things into perspective. So... :D

Now how to search similar (means same composition) and Cheaper drugs/medicine.

India Specific

Tricks how to search faster and with more options and accuracy.

Example: type in google searchbox medguideindia "biotin-5 mg"/"copper-3 mg" will get you results for all drugs/medicine matching

biotin-5 mg and copper- 2 mg together in a drug/medicine.

See Link: medguideindia "biotin-5 mg"*"copper- 3 mg" - Google Search

And if you type medguideindia "biotin-5 mg" "copper-2 mg" will get you results for all drugs/medicine matching either biotin-5 mg or copper- 2 mg in a drug/medicine.

See link: medguideindia "biotin-5 mg"/"copper- 3 mg" - Google Search

Same and few more search tricks can be applied elsewhere on the internet and other sites.

Admin's/Mod's can write a detail post on that.

Important vitamins + mineral's from Hairloss point of view (along with their scientific name).

Now my main concern.

I've made a list of Medicated (Synthetic) (not generic, as I don't trust generic one & they cost a ton comparatively) vitamins/supplement, Drug/medcine names on basis of their cost/goodness & availability in India.

Price is mentioned in INR (Indian National Rupees) or (Rs.)

1 US Dollar(US$) = around Rs. 50 (for easy conversation)

(Example: 10 Tablets for Rs. 50 means 10 Tablets for US$ 1)

Seeking advice from Seniors / Doctors on which are looking better options from the list below. Or/Else they would like to suggest some.

I'm looking for some less costly single pill for all Vitamins+Minerals(with Biotin & Silica) along with all 22 amino acids (with PABA) and Proteolytic Enzyme Bromelain,Dehydroepiandrosterone DHEA, Melatonin alongwith Progesterone enzyme. Now this is a pure greed... :o yeah! I know :)
