Regular Member merkel52 Posted January 3, 2012 Regular Member Posted January 3, 2012 i read somewhere that Nizoral cream works perfectly for the temples. Any realities in it? Anyone experinced it?
Bill - Seemiller Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 merkel52, Nizoral contains the active ingredient ketoconazole which in some studies, indicates it may block a small amount of DHT from binding the hair follicle receptor sites. Unfortunatley however, no non-surgical hair loss treatment is clinically proven to grow hair in completely bald areas. Thus, if hair is thinning in and around the temples, using proven non-surgical treatments may help prevent further progression. This includes using Propecia (finasteride) and Rogaine (minoixidil). Ketoconazole creams or foams may also help. But only hair transplant surgery is proven to grow hair in completely bald areas. I hope this helps. Best wishes, Bill
