Shedding vs. Graft loss

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, I have a question... I am 19 days post-op (1600 grafts to hairline) and I have been very meticulus with my post-op care....I dont have scabs, but a white exudate that is very cosmetically unapealing attached to my grafts (in part from Vitamin-E oil) at 14 days I tried to very gently remove some not by pulling but by running a thin peice of toothpick shaped plastic through my hair to collect some of the exudate...

at that time I noticed many hairs in the exudate I was removing...some in follicular units....some single....no blood ever though. So i stopped

Today, (19 days post op) I tried it again...same result, not quite as many hairs.

Based on the time frame and the research I have done I am assuming this is just normal...the hairs fell out got stuck in the gunk and were stuck on my head.

But of course, I am still a bit concerned

Some of the hairs have a small bulb like structure at the base...this doesnt indicae the graft was lost does it (i dont think it does)
