Just prior to Thanksgiving I had the pleasure to see the presented patient at 18 months post op from having ~3350 grafts in early April 2010. The patient and I were pleased with the progress he has made from re-working the frontal 2/3rds of his scalp.

His preoperative photos show he presented with a somewhat unusual pattern that could be classified as either an unusual Ludwig’s pattern 3 or a Norwood pattern 5 with bilateral frontal tuft retention. We were able to address the majority of his baldness leaving only a small area on his crown untouched. In addition, he was initially on full medical management but elected to d/c it shortly after transplantation.

While he has done quite well, I feel he has lost a little ground over his crown and parietal humps as a result of being off medical management. As of now we plan to restart Propecia/Rogaine and move forward with additional grafting across his crown and midscalp.
