Senior Member BadBeat Posted November 30, 2011 Senior Member Posted November 30, 2011 So I started taking Biotin and MSM orally a few weeks ago. I know there have been a few threads talking about the improvement in hair quality while taking these supplements. My problem is I've been shedding like crazy since I started taking them. I've been on Rogaine Foam for over a year and Fin for 6 months. Should I stick it out or discontinue using the Biotin and MSM? Could this shed be from Fin? It just really sucks because by hair has really thinned A LOT just over the past month. I hope it's not permanent! I've heard that sheds are a good sign that the treatments are working and that the new hairs will come in stronger and fuller but I've also heard that shedding is never a good thing and not usually caused by the treatments. Which one is it? Thanks!
Senior Member NEWHAIRPLEASE Posted November 30, 2011 Senior Member Posted November 30, 2011 I wouldn't think the supplements would be causing a shed. Newhairplease!! Dr Rahal in January 19, 2012:) 4808 FUT grafts- 941 singles, 2809 doubles, 1031 triples, 27 quads My Hairloss Website
Senior Member RCWest Posted December 2, 2011 Senior Member Posted December 2, 2011 It shouldn't cause a shed unless it is making way for healthier hairs. Finasteride 1.25 mg. daily Avodart 0.5 mg. daily Spironolactone 50 mg twice daily 5 mg. oral Minoxidil twice daily Biotin 1000 mcg daily Multi Vitamin daily Damn, with all the stuff you put in your hair are you like a negative NW1?
