Regular Member Dr. Vito Quatela Posted October 18, 2011 Regular Member Posted October 18, 2011 This 49-year-old male, who had undergone previous hair transplantation in the late 1990’s, presented with hair loss in the forelock and frontal recession as well as thinning in the crown area. The patient underwent one session of hair restoration for a total of 2,186 grafts, of which 924 were single hair grafts, 1,063 were two hair grafts, and 199 were three hair grafts. The team concentrated on connecting the mid-forelock to the sides of the frontal area using one and two hair grafts to improve the frontal presentation. Attention was then turned to the central tuft which was filled in with three hair grafts to improve the density of the area. The team used the stick and place method to achieve these results using 19 and 20 gauge needles. Single hair grafts were used to create a natural appearing irregular frontal hairline. The patient was very pleased with his results and is considering returning for an additional session to concentrate on his crown area and to possibly remove the older grafts to further improve the frontal presentation.
