Dr. Carlos K. Wesley: 37-y.o. Male 2179 FU

Recommended Posts

This patient has just returned 9 months after a 2179FU session to his frontal third. He was most thrilled during these summer months to feel comfortable in situations during which he had to get his hair wet (e.g. poolside, beach, etc.). So, while the "wet" look in the right-and-left-side preoperative photos do magnify the thinning prior to the session, they most effectively demonstrate what no longer bothers this particular patient.

Dr. Wesley,

Thank you for posting the gentleman's results. The work is perfectly natural and represents a conservative yet significant approach.

Thank you, Capelli11. I used a standard, non-trichophytic closure on this patient. Often times, a trichophytic closure can make graft dissection during subsequent strip harvesting sessions more challenging due to the "criss-crossing" of the follicles adjacent to the scar. Therefore, in patients who are committed to returning for an additional session to address a different part of the scalp, it may be beneficial in terms of future FU yield to use a standard closure. This patient is returning for a midscalp session. As that will likely be his final session, I do plan to use a trichophytic closure at that time.

Beginning just over two years ago, this gentleman had a session to the frontal third of his scalp followed by a session addressing his thinning mid scalp. In total, he had 4020 grafts with about 2600 grafts dedicated to the frontal third of his scalp.

Thanks for your kind words. This patient certainly has a newfound confidence.

Again, our apologies for flooding this section of the HTN today. This represents the last of our postings for a while... Thanks!

This patient recently returned to our office to display his donor scar after two strip harvest session totaling 4020 grafts. We've been able to update his complete transformation video (seen earlier in this thread) as well as addinghttp://vimeo.com/73333653 below that is specifically focused on his donor scar.

Dr Wesley great work! And the scar is very undetectable. I talked to you on the phone before. I am from Chicago and inquired about being part of your test study concerning a scarless hair transplant. How is that coming along. Thanks.

Thanks, CaddyTad77. Yes. I remember speaking with you and I'll answer you offline.

Our engineering team is designing the next iteration of the device that we plan to test in a few weeks and display during October's ISHRS meeting. Later this week I will post images of the a few results so that members can get a sense of how we quantify growth of newly transplanated hairs. It's all pretty exciting!
