Senior Member aaron1234 Posted August 15, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted August 15, 2011 You'll get a variety of opinions from docs on this one. The most common one you'll hear is that after 10-12 days or so, when the scabs eventually fall out. And make sure you wash it out the dermmatch at night. Other docs believe it could possibly slow down growth or affect yield and to wait at least 6 months post-op before applying dermmatch. They recommend toppik or nanogen instead since it is not rubbed on the scalp. You make the call. Regular Member izzy Posted August 15, 2011 Author Regular Member Share Posted August 15, 2011 AHHH what should one do? After spending sooo much money on a transplant, you don't wish to ruin all the implanted grafts! I guess it's go to work and swallow your pride and let people see you without hair! Could toppik or nanogen effect hair regrowth after a transplant?
Senior Member hairthere Posted August 15, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted August 15, 2011 izzy, I have seen one case Jotronic from H&W presented where a Dermatch-like concealer inhibited a guy's growth. I personally have used Dermatch post-op without any problems. Consult with your doctor and just follow his instructions... Senior Member aaron1234 Posted August 16, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted August 16, 2011 Doctors usually prefer toppik or nanogen since they are just fibers attaching themselves to the hair follicles. Though some fibers inevitably trickle down to the scalp they are not rubbed on with an applicator like dermmatch. Dr. Glenn Charles
In most cases once the scabs have fallen off and the skin surface pigmentation has returned to normal the Dermmatch should not have any negative effects. It would be wise to not leave product on for extended periods of time. Regular Member izzy Posted August 18, 2011 Author Regular Member Share Posted August 18, 2011 Cheers guys, So you shouldn't use toppik or nanogen or derm match for until the scalps healed which would take 10 - 15 days. Would using any of the above products inhibit growth?
