From what I understand the transplanted hairs usually don't start to shed until at least 2 weeks post transplant. I noticed the first shedding about 2.5 weeks after my surgery. The hairs that are not shedding will grow until they do shed.

Atlanta,

Congratulations on your recent hair transplant with Dr. Cooley! He is certainly one of the best and I'm sure you'll be very happy in the coming months. At the moment, there's not too much to see. You look just as you should.

Be patient and good things will come.

Happy Growing!

Yup, and you will be for about 3-4 more months too. Nothing unusual about that. It's called the doldrums for good reason.

The Ht process is very strange. Up until last week I saw hardly any change in my results (I am one week shy of five months). Then a few days ago...boom! I noticed I suddenly was using much less Dermatch and that the grafts were indeed growing and thickening. I can feel tons of tiny stubs, too. I still have a long way to go, but there is suddenly a noticeable difference.

As already stated, you are smack dab in the middle of the doldrums. The magic will kick in, just give it plenty of time.

Cooley is one of my favorite surgeons. I don't think you need to worry, just kick back for the next few months and let the growing begin!

Finasteride 1.25 mg. daily

Avodart 0.5 mg. daily

Spironolactone 50 mg twice daily

5 mg. oral Minoxidil twice daily

Biotin 1000 mcg daily

Multi Vitamin daily

Damn, with all the stuff you put in your hair are you like a negative NW1? :D

Both! Most fortunately is only temporary and reversible. If you get with an unskilled surgeon, you may have some permanent.

Even with the best surgeon, you could experience permanent shockloss with existing hairs that are miniaturized.

Newhairplease, i dont agree that shockloss can only damage miniaturized hair. A doc could possibly purposely cause shockloss and damage to existing hair very easily. Most docs are careful when they implant around existing hair not to cause shockloss whereas there are some who purposely mess people up.,, The hair does not have to be miniaturized to be shockloss in all circumstances.

I Have been taking propecia for last 9 months after my hair transplant. It worked great for 6 months. My hair loss almost stopped. but I have noticed that it's not been working since last 2-3 months. I am again losing lots of hairs.

What should I do ? Any suggestions? Is it common?

Atlanta, Propecia is still working. You are probably just going through a seasonal shed.

In fact, I didn't notice thickening from Finasteride until about the 9-12 month mark. It takes time. Remember, when it comes to hair, it's patience patience patience!!
