How many hair follicles will emerge from a graft

Hey guys, I have a question for you. How many hair follicles will emerge from a graft after hair transplant @ approx.

1 Graft = 1 Follicle????

The best way I can answer this is to explain what a "graft" is. Today, leading physicians use follicular unit "grafts" which are groupings of hairs as they occur naturally. Follicular units can contain anywhere from 1 to 4 hairs. Thus, if a 4 haired follicular unit graft was transplanted, you can expect 4 hairs to grow from 4 distinct follicles within the follicular unit.

 

Usually there's a healthy variety of 1, 2, 3, and 4 haired follicular unit grafts transplanted per procedure. The average is about 2.2. Thus, for each graft, you can expect approximately 2.2 hairs to grow. Does that make sense?

By the way, if you're actually asking what percentage of the hair will grow, typical yield is approximately 95%.
