Regular Member BigGuyPHX Posted October 11, 2007 Regular Member Share Posted October 11, 2007 Hey bros I'm 2 months post op on a 2400 gft HT. 2 weeks ago I noticed little hairs poking throught the skin and I was super happy. There have been several other but nothing crazy. Now the last two weeks I noticed hair loss maybe 2 dozen a day like every other day both long and what appears to be 1/4 inch ht hair that never fell out. Also I have tiny site dead skin patches like little hard flakes. Itchy dry scalp too. Is this normal for 2 months? I feel that a lot of the HT hairs did not fall out and this may be some of them? Maybe new hairs are pushing skin up and thats where the dry hard flake are comming from? Can I have shock loss 2 months post op? Any info would be great bros! Thanks BigG

Senior Member FacelessMan Posted October 11, 2007 Senior Member Share Posted October 11, 2007 To answer your questions...based on my own experience, and on what I've read, everything you describe sounds normal. Expect to lose all the little hairs you saw just after the transplant...it's a little unnerving, but it helped me, at least, to remember that they had to fall out to make room for newer, thicker, better, stronger hairs...! I've also had flakes and itching in the recipient area, at least in the first several months...I suppose this is just an after-effect. I did not change the shampoo I used before the HT, or use any meds. Senior Member MrJobi Posted October 12, 2007 Senior Member Share Posted October 12, 2007 Normal to lose hairs. Just relax and wait it out.. You will experience a host of pinches , pains, hair fall, and other weird things.. YES, your mind will play tricks on you too. Bill - Seemiller
BigGuyPHX, 2 months is often a depressing time for a lot of hair transplant patients as shock loss often gets the better of us. Try to remain patient and wait it out. Redemption is only a few short months away Bill
