Hair and scalp clinic

If this is the same "Hair and Scalp Clinic" in Clearwater Florida that uses a laser to create the recipient sites, I am not really familiar with their work, but I do know lasers don't offer you any advantages as a patient. Using a laser is not going to make your transplant turn out any better.

What I would do is try to meet some of their patients and really examine their results closely, if you are really intent on using this clinic. Then find some other clinics you'd consider using and look closely at THEIR patients, and see how the laser clinic's results stand up.

Their website says they do use microscopes to dissect FU grafts, which is a good sign. My first impression is that these guys might not suck, but you can probably do better. If you meet any patients or draw any conclusions of your own about this clinic, maybe you will post your own impressions... thanks.

Shane

Did you already have a transplant at this clinic? If so, what is your opinion?

Most doctors think the laser is unneccesary or even gimmicky. I've never heard a convincing explanation on why the laser would give a better result.

Like I said, it looks like this clinic does use microscopically-dissected FU grafts, so that is a good sign.

Actually I already had a 300 and 800 graft session with them. I didnt find this sight until recently. They are nice guys to work with and no pain. Doneer scar healed well from first session. That was a year ago but it was not enough. My last session was 3 months ago and I am awaiting eagerly. I dont see how it will grow in thick enough without looking funny but again I just had the op. 300 was to small a session. I also have not been on Propecia until a month ago. Hair started to thin out rapidly after last session

In my opinion, nobody should get a strip excision just to transplant 300 grafts. The clinic shouldn't have done that, in my opinion.

Also, did they encourage you to take Propecia? They should have. If they did and you didn't listen, that's your responsibility. But the clinic should have urged you to use Propecia. If they didn't, that's a strike against them.

They did urge me to take propecia. I took it for two months. I had a problem one night with my girlfriend and quit the next day. Actually, it was probably the 12 beers that did it, but, it took me off guard.

I had a procedure with these guys-----It was terrible-------resulted in a huge stretch scar which they have tried to convince me is shock loss---the surgery was over a year ago----avoid this clinic and John Satino

rodfl,

Sorry you had a bad experience with these guys. It just goes to show, that automation (using lasers to create recipient sites is an attempt to automate part of the process) isn't always best. Nothing beats being in the hands of a skilled and artistic physician.

P.S. This thread is over 4 years old....about a year before my time here icon_wink.gif

AVOID THIS CLINIC.

THEY USE OLD TECHNIQUES AND LASER THING DOES NOT WORK. THEY LEFT ME WITH A 3/4" SCAR ON THE BACK AND DID NOT SOLVE DENSITY PROBLEM. THEY ARE A COMMERCIAL BUSINESS. THEY ARE NICE BUT DEFINITELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM. I REGRET I FELL FOR THEM WITH PUBLICITY. BASE YOUR DECISIONS ON REVIEWS FROM REAL PATIENTS.

Hi, I'm new here but I also have doubts about Hair & Scalp and John Satino. I've been doing some research, but so far all I got are mixed reviews. I'd contacted them and they've offered me a nice deal: 1,500 grafts for $3500 or $150 a month for 2yrs. There's a 10% discount if I pay upfront (I've also try to contact Dr. Rose last Wednesday, but so far I haven't heard from them yet... however, I've the feeling it would be more expensive).

Besides, the "Laser Hair Transplant" procedure here in the U.S. seems almost non-existent but overseas it's everywhere, how come? can anyone help me with more info? any former patients of John Satino perhaps? thank you.
