Guest
I have read 2 different versions. One says light stimulates cells and hair growth. Another says sunlight contributes to the formation of DHT. The question is whether or not sunlight on your hair is good or bad for you? Thoughts? Senior Member arfy Posted October 12, 2003 Senior Member Share Posted October 12, 2003 I've read that a sunburn on your scalp can cause hair loss (or shedding, anyway). If you have very short hair that is something to think about. As far as post-transplant, I think you want to avoid sunlight for months. I believe you can have some issues with pigmentation of the grafts (color) if you expose the grafts to prolonged sunlight too soon. Bottom line is that the sun is not going to help with hair loss issues, and might even hurt.
