Senior Member Beefy Posted December 16, 2005 Senior Member Share Posted December 16, 2005 I was wondering if there was formula used to figure out how many hairs were transplanted to your recipiant site? I see number's like 45 sq cm and so on, how did you guys figure it out? Senior Member Robert_ Posted December 16, 2005 Senior Member Share Posted December 16, 2005 Dr. Feller came up with and shared a novel approach to finding out exactly what your density per square centimeter is after surgery: If you want to know how many grafts were actually implanted you can get a good idea by taking a photo of the recipient area just after surgery. Make sure to put a ruler in the picture for scale, then import the image into photoshop. Create a 1cm sq box and overlay it over 3 random areas of the recipient area. Count the grafts per sq cm and take an average. Now you know how many grafts you received and it is DOCUMENTED! - Dr. Alan Feller I think it would be a great idea to do this to further document your post-op progress. -Robert ------------------------------ Check out the results of my surgical hair restoration performed by Dr. Jerry Cooley by visiting my Hair Loss Weblog
Senior Member Gorpy Posted December 17, 2005 Senior Member Share Posted December 17, 2005 Generally people speak of grafts per cm2 because that's what the Dr. told them they got. They don't actually count them themselves. ____________ 2700 Total Grafts w/ Keene 9/28/05 663 one's = 663 1116 two's = 2232 721 three's = 2163 200 four's = 800 Hair Count = 5858 1000 Total Grafts w/Keene 2/08/07 Mostly combined FU's for 2600+ hairs My Photo Album See me at Dr. Keene's Gallery
