Senior Member Dr. William Parsley Posted October 19, 2002 Senior Member Share Posted October 19, 2002 It is not uncommon for grafts to grow in slowly after being transplanted into a scar- sometimes after 8 months. The cause and type of scar are important. It is my experience that the thicker the scar, the slower the growth and the worst the yield. Grafts into radiation scars and skin grafts grow well. The worse for me are thickened scars around old plugs, perhaps because the bulbs of the grafts sometimes don't reach into the fat layer where they normally lie. Dr. Parsley is recommended on the Hair Transplant Network
