Stiches Removed but Denied

After Hair Transplant stiches were removed by my family doctor and i just got a letter from insurance saying you claim is denined because there may be a third party liability (auto accident or other property).

What Should i do? Have your insurance charged you guys?

I have a PPO plan by United Health Care.

In general, cosmetic procedures are not covered by most insurance plans.

Sounds like your doctor submitted his bill he created for removal of your sutures to your insurance, which did not cover that procedure as it was the result of care 1.)Not rendered initially by your MD, and, 2.)Related to an initial cosmetic procedure.

It really comes down to your relationship /understanding with your doctor. He is the one who would/wouldn't submit the claim.

Perhaps you can speak with him as, when insurance denies your claim, the doctor usually then comes to you for the balance.

i will talk to my family doctor and ask him to resubmit using the different code so my insurance can cover.
