candidate for hair transplant

Although we'd all like more regrowth, if your head looks "basically the same" you can consider the Propecia a success. Meds are best for slowing down or haulting your hairloss. Very few have gotten significant regrowth.

You may experience a little bit of regrowth if you add Rogaine to your regimen. Are you using any topicals?

You would be a great candidate for a hair transplant if you were 12 years older than you are today. Hairloss is progressive so you can expect your sides and back to recede downward and you will almost certainly reach NW6 or NW7. No matter what, any transplant you get has to be done assuming you already are NW7 which means very conservative. But it really is best to stay on finasteride for at least a year and then assess your options.

vikd,

Take a look at a recent thread that had a good bit of replies on the subject of young hair transplant patients. There is some great information located there.
