Sharing our experiences and Surgeon reviews

Recommended Posts

On May 4, 2017 I went in for the surgery at 7:30 AM and I was picked up at 5:30 PM with approximately nine hours for the surgical procedure. I had 1478 Follicular Unit grafts (1-3 hairs each) and 320 small multi- Follicular Unit grafts (4 to 5 hairs each) for total of 1798 grafts and 3878 hairs transplanted. However, just before surgery started, Dr. Beehner and I discussed the plan and decided to add 148 additional graphs. Dr. Beehner was accompanied by a resident, Dr. Slaughter and I felt very comfortable with both of them. Dr. Beehner did the initial examination and he answered all my questions fully and made me feel very comfortable regarding the hair transplant surgery. My sister had hair transplant surgery twice with Dr. Beehner and she was extremely happy with the outcome of the surgery. I showed Dr. Beehner a picture of me from approximately 18 years ago and showed him what I wanted as an outcome of the surgery. He felt confident he could give me a look that I wanted and now, nine months later I am very happy with the outcome. I was very surprised that the surgery was painless but I did take some pain medication the first night, prophylactically. I only had a little bit of bleeding the first night and everything went very well. I did have a lot of itching in the back of my head in and around the sutures for several months, but eventually that subsided. After nine months, a lot of hair has grown in the areas exactly where I wanted it to be. It appears that my hair is still growing and becoming more sturdy. I am very grateful to Dr. Beehner and Dr. Slaughter for a job extremely well done. I would recommend them unconditionally and have actually recommended them to several friends. I am very grateful for their professional and caring approach and for a great outcome..

Well Genuinely i can not help in this because i am not aware with these doctors. But i can provide you my research points that i had prepared before going to my hair transplant surgery.

1. Surgery Procedure

Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) and Follicular Unit Transplantations (FUT). I can not explain you these terms but i am sure, if you will dig out on the internet you will find a great information about these procedures, so always consider your option.

2. HAIR AND SKIN TYPE, INCLUDING ETHNICITY

3. Cost of the Surgery.

4. Expertise and work experience of the surgeon

5. Complication and risk of hair transplants- Consult with the doctor and the previous patient that already undergo hair transplant surgery.

6. Needed preparations and medical care - Depending on your preferred procedure of having a hair transplant, there are precautions and things you may need to avoid before, during, and after the operation.

7. The clinic where surgery will take place.

Please consider these points before going to hair transplant surgery.

Have a great day ahead.

Hi. why everybody is looking for cheep price? it is your health. my friend had bed experience in Turkey, FUE using machine is total shit, if you transplant more then 2000 grafts. do not trust. ask yourself, why good clinics in Turkey are counting 3 eur per one graft and other 1500 - 2000 eur per 5000 grafts. Because of result!!! better to go in post soviet countries, they are in Europe Union and it means all laws are the same as for example for clinics in German, but the price is 5 time less

Jack black,

In my opinion, price should be the last consideration when considering hair transplant surgery. Those who choose a surgeon based on price alone are often unhappy with their results and end up spending more money in the long run to get repair work done. Instead, it is far better to select a surgeon based k. A proven history of providing inky the very best results. Then, after narrowing it down to a few expert hair restoration surgeons, then consider the cost.

Best wishes,

Bill

Hello, my name is Piper Ramsey, my son is 18yrs old and has early onset hereditary pattern baldness 3A. He started losing his hair at 16yrs old. He’s currently taking propecia and has had 5 PrP therapy sessions which hasn’t worked and has also used minoxidil for 8 months which gave him bad dandruff and a rash. I need to be honest and tell you he’s been to see two other hair surgeons, one put him on propecia and the other did the PrP therapy. Both of them said they will not do transplants on him until he’s a little older(one says 1yr and the other says a few years). He turned 18 on April 5. My son is deeply depressed. He’s been bullied at school because of his hair, has quit all school sports and wants to be home schooled for his senior year and doesn’t want to go to college. He’s completely isolated himself. Nobody seems to understand the mental anguish and low self esteem his hair loss is causing. No one should have to go through this at such a young age. He won’t leave his room. I don’t know what to do, my son won’t be able to handle another rejection from a doctor. Can you please let me know if there is a doctor out there that would consider doing the surgery. I can email any pictures if you would like. Also, I myself had fut transplants done 24yrs ago when I was 21.

U a good father lookin out for your son like that .. but yeah the doctors won’t do surgery on him because he’s losing hair fast and will continue to lose hair ,, they want to let him age a few more years to see what Norwood he is headed .. if Prp isn’t working stop wasting money on it n save That money for future hair transplants .. I think the best thing u can do for him is be supportive like u are now ..

But all is not lost ; post pic of his current hair n also his donor hair .. if he has good donor hair then he has hope .. all u can give him is hope, n develop a master plan .. that should make him less stressed .. he can try a hair system when he starts college .. since no one there will no he’s balding with a hair system ..

Also , u have to do ur do diligence to find him a good surgeon ,, the worse thing u can do is get him into a bad clinic that will leave him worse than before n waste his grafts , cuz he’s going to need every one , since he’s destined for a few transplant in his lifetime..

U can also motivate him to go college N focus his energy into that since he’s not sociable , he can be a smart n educated ..

U can motivate him by letting him know if he wants hair transplants he’s going to need a lot of money , so he has to get get his degree to make money so he can pay for future transplants .. I would advise contacting a few doctors recommended on this forum n develop a relationship with them for the future transplants..

Hello everyone, nice idea to share our experience! I have done hair transplant in Turkey (FUE) with Bio Hair Clinic and besides having spent little money, the result is excellent .. From the first contact with them until complete recovery, I was always followed. I am very satisfied!

Andy,

it looks like you’re here to shamelessly promote Bio Hair Clinic since you hotlinked the name to their website. If you had a genuine experience with them that you would like to share, please go ahead and create a new topic and be sure to share your photos. But hotlinking to the clinics website looks a lot more like an attempt to get a back link to their website. That’s not permitted here

Best Regards,,

Bill

One of my friends had undergone hair transplant from Kabera Global located in Jalandhar and he has much contended with the treatment. In his view, it is the best and affordable hair transplant clinic in Punjab which is fully equipped with every operation facilities, the centre has an authentic specialist who ensures to get an extremely high rate of success after the treatment. The clinic possesses physicians who have years of experience and well known for thousands of successful surgery.  I strongly recommend Kabera Global for hair transplantation or any other hair treatment. For the patient satisfaction, they also provide before and after photos.

I will for sure post my pictures, but despite your point of view I was only sharing my experience and happiness. I apologise if that was not permitted

@Andy18,

If you are truly a genuine patient wishing to share your experience, then I apologize if I sounded harsh. However, you did include a hotlink to the clinic‘s website by using their name. That something that people typically do when they are attempting to add keyword baited links - an SEO strategy  used to cultivate traffic and rankings. So it’s a little unbelievable that you are a genuine patient when you didn’t even share any details of your experience and you didn’t post any photos either. It was just an advertisement with a hotlink.

Again, if you are  legitimate, then go ahead and share your actual experience from start to finish with photos. .

Best wishes,

Bill

From my side, I am very upset about hair fall. Then I read the article on hair loss solutions. then I got an article on hair loss solutions by Kabera global. he gives me the advice to get a hair transplant to stop hair fall. He told to me, you need 2000 grafts on the forehead.  I decided to get the hair transplant in Jaipur, India. I met Dr. Ravi in this clinic. He is the best surgeon to take the treatment. In this clinic, surgeon well experienced in hair treatment. They give good results on hair transplant. I give suggestions to all of you get hair transplant treatment in Kabera clinic.

Hi guys,

I'm planning in getting my procedure done in the next month or so. I need 2700 grafts to cover the frontal area and strengthen the crown area. I'm kinda undecided on the surgeon. I'm thinking of Dr Bloxham/ Feller or Dr Bernstein. Do any of you have any input or experience that can help me make my decision. Both Dr told me the same in terms of my hair loss and amount of grafts as well as the type of surgery needed. I'm just kind of undecided simply in terms of the surgeon.

Thanks

Ed

Both great doctors, I have been impressed with Dr Bloxham who works with Dr Feller. His strip scars look fantastic.  Dr Bernstein has been around for a long time and has great experience. IMO you would not go wrong with either.

Thanks for the input. I guess both Dr's are great.

Dr Bloxham has some great recent results - however I would caution that Dr.Bloxham is relatively new as compared to other options with super long track records in NYC - I've seen some pretty amazing results coming from Dr Carlos Wesley in NYC - if you stack up recent patient and clinic results from True/Dorin, Bloxham, Bernstein, Wesley........I dont think anyone is coming close to Wesley for number of homeruns...........next I would say True/Dorin for the extensive track record......Bloxham is coming up however but if you asked each doctor for their total transplants performed in their career I think he would be well behind these guys and I'd like a doctor who's seen every possible situation in their career or in the OR

Saw Dr Bernstein in his office and  he says I'm not a good candidate for the transplant citing tight scalp and very fine hair. Max 2500K can be harvested. This is not what was told to me by Dr. Bloxham. In fact, Dr Bloxham told me the opposite. Not sure what is going on now as I went from being a candidate to not at all now. Have any of you been through this? I'm surprised by what I was told.

Finally pulled the trigger and got my procedure done with Dr Bloxham. Everything went well and we were aiming for 2500 grafts. Dr Bloxham was able to get 3100 grafts out in one sitting and it went well. I guess Bernstein thought my hair would pose some sort of an issue and decided to tell me I wasn't a good candidate for HT. Pretty alarming attitude I would say as I prefer to be told the truth and not being deceived. Good thing I pushed on and continued looking for other doctors opinions beside Dr Berstein.

I highly recommend the Cooley Hair Center in Charlotte, NC to anyone seeking a top notch procedure. Dr. Jerry Cooley and all staff were highly professional, caring, and take great pride in helping patients achieve a successful hair transplant. I am five months out from my FUT procedure of 2600 grafts and I could not be happier. Dr. Cooley created a natural hairline in the frontal area and increased the density in the crown area. Also, he injected Exosomes in the crown area.

From the very beginning in the consultation thru to the surgery, Dr. Cooley and his staff were always making sure I was comfortable at all times. I can't speak highly enough of the process. I am happy with the results to date and looking forward to my "check up" meeting with Dr. Cooley at the one year mark.

If you are still searching for the "right" physician, I urge you to get one more opinion from Dr. Cooley. I promise, he will exceed your expectations in every way.

We all do business with different companies throughout the year and most are unremarkable. But my experience with Dr. John Diep, at Medical Hair Transplants and Aesthetics was extraordinary.
Dr. Diep’s communication, attention to detail and surgical skill is unsurpassed in the industry; his overall customer service and work product is like dealing with a friend where a handshake means he stands behind his products and service.
My issue was a receding hairline; I wanted to fill it in and lower it a bit. I didn’t want a 20-something hairline but a mature hairline that I could style. The end product was and is amazing! I can’t say enough good things about my overall experience with Dr. John Diep and his team. If you are considering a hair transplant, get a consultation with Dr. Diep. You will thank yourself later.
