Senior Member hairthere Posted February 21, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted February 21, 2008 With you rhair type and amount of loss 1400 grafts should be plenty. Remember you need to give your HT a full year at least to determine if it is a success. Bill - Seemiller
gimmehair, You seem like you already had a nice bit of natural hair, so the number of grafts you received should give you some nice added coverage and density. All you can do now is wait it out and see how the final result comes out. Wait a year and then if you feel you want more density, talk to Dr. Siporin. Of course, you are still young and hair loss is progressive. If you are not already on Propecia/Rogaine to help prevent against future hair loss, I'd strongly suggest considering them. Regular Member gimmehair Posted February 21, 2008 Author Regular Member Share Posted February 21, 2008 I have in fact been prescribed propecia and have started taking it as well. would you suggest taking rogaine as well?? on the transplanted sites as well? Senior Member PLEASE GROW PLEASE Posted February 21, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted February 21, 2008 Hopefully you mean applying rogaine, not taking it. If so the foam is the best way to go . So yes I would use rogaine when its time. It increases the bloodflow to the new grafts. There are studies showing its helpful to possibly "jumpstart" old and the new growth
Regular Member gimmehair Posted February 21, 2008 Author Regular Member Share Posted February 21, 2008 If i DO decide to start rogaine, doesnt that mean that i have to continue applying it forever? Senior Member PLEASE GROW PLEASE Posted February 21, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted February 21, 2008 Not if your going to use it to jumpstart growth. I works great in combo with fin but thats your choice. The results you get with your non transplanted hair will reverse with discontinued use but your transplants will keep growing strong. Look into msm also
Regular Member gimmehair Posted February 21, 2008 Author Regular Member Share Posted February 21, 2008 I just picked up 5% rogaine and msm today. thanx for all the help. i have decided to go ahead and use the rogaine on my transplanted hairs as well as the rest of the top of my head.
