E-mail from Dr. Beehner

Hey everyone,

I got an e-mail today from Dr. Beehner. I attached some photos of my head for him to look at. I kind of like what he said, however, I'm more concerned about the crown and getting that filled. Here's his response. Let me know what you guys think:

>>I looked at all four of your photos. I did have a couple of key

questions. You didn't give your age, although you look like you're in your

30's from the photos (no gray hair seen!). Also, I can't tell if everything

I see on the top of your head is transplanted hair, or if a portion of it or

a lot of it is your original native hair. You mentioned that you "hadn't

seen any results." I didn't know if that meant that literally none of the

transplants grew, or what. That would be extremely rare to have happen. I

also can't really tell if your hairline looks natural or needs a little

touching up to look so. I do note that your rear crown is somewhat

thin/bald. My own policy is not to fill this area in until a man is at least

38 years old, and then only if there is ample enough donor hair. Your side

and back views give me the impression that you have plenty of donor hair.

From the photos I am sure that what you need more than anything else is

"more hair" on top. If the front hairline needs to be made more full or

natural (which is usually the case), I would certainly give that a lot of

attention. In general, assuming you are 32-35 or so, my approach would be to

do around 800-900 grafts (around 650 follicular unit grafts of 1-3 hairs

each, and around 200-250 small minigrafts in the entire top area. We could

alternately do 1000 FU's only, which does cost a little more. The number of

hairs you receive is larger when minigrafts are included and the session is

actually cheaper. We use techniques that make these inside minis quite

natural in appearance. Our charge for such a session is presently $4075 plus

a supply charge, which is presently $140. I would recommend having one

session done and then wait a year and see how satisfied you are with the

density before deciding to have another one. We find consistently that

around 95% of our transplanted hairs grow.

Any advice is appreciated
