Based on the results of your clinic, what is the average yield for FUT vs FUE. Thanks.

Thanks dr. Feller. However, I believe there is a lower yield for FUE when compared with a strip procedure.

1)Based on your experience, what the average yield for strip?

2)Based on your experience, what the average yield for FUE?

Thanks.

I think he is saying that for him the average yield is 80-85%; in general, the range can touch upon 50% to upwards of 100% in the right hands w/ the right patient.

EDIT -- for FUE, of course; for strip radically higher.

FUT yields, from what I heard, can be in the high 90s percentage-wise; this is, I believe, a fairly standard number in the industry so I guess Dr. Feller figured he didn't need to state the obvious.

Edit: the above refers to how much hair will be harvested from a specific area. As far as actual growth, that's the same for both procedures. So if you plant 1,000 FUE grafts and 1,000 FUT grafts, the same amount will grow. The difference is that with FUE, you won't manage to harvest as many so you'll have fewer to plant.

I guess i can deduct that even from a skilled doctor with proven results like Dr. Feller, FUE on average will yield 20% less growth than strip.

It is like throwing away 20% of your grafts (and 20% of the cost of the surgery)! I guess some patients really do not want a hidden scar under their hair. Well i will definitely go with strip since i can't afford to lose 20% of my grafts.
