Advice for Hair Loss Sufferers Considering Hair Transplant Surgery

My Story

  1. Dear all, i desperately need some help, hopefully a respected surgeon can help me in this matter, or someone who experienced what i do now. . My first hair transplant i had 2,5 years ago, 2200 grafts on the frontal area: that one failed because my transplants where falling out after 7 , 8 months ago untill the point my hair situation was almost worse then before the hair restoration. I blamed it on the surgeon at that time. He was ignorant of possible causes. I figured it was poorly done / bad luck and had another surgery like 9 months ago, some 1000 grafts to restore the frontal area. With another surgeon. Much to my distress i ve noticed my transplanted hair is thinning again! The rest of my head is ok, maybe a bit of shedding because its summer but nothing disturbing. After some decent growth for about 7 months its rapidly falling out again. My current surgeon is fague about the causes, sais its probably stress related and saying i should get propecia. Now he is ignoring me after i reached out to him again that my situationnis worsening. Really frustrating! the thing is, i am wondering if its me. Could it be a strong form of Aga in the recipient area? Could it be hormonal? I do suffer from chronic fatigue due to a burnout. I got this for 2 years now unfortunately. Can that be the cause? I am eating healthy , excercise otherwise. to sum up: transplants are falling out again for the second time after 7 or 8 months of growth. Please help.
  2. Has Anyone Else Had Success With Hemp CBD Oil? Just my quick backstory: After initially employing CBD Oil as part of a night time, anti-aging facial routine, I noticed what appeared to be new hairs sprouting from the top of my head, near to where I had been applying the serum. At the same time surprised and excited, I decided to see what would happen if I applied CBD Oil daily to my scalp, would I indeed see my Thinning Hair come in thicker and fuller, could CBD Oil potentially be used to Stop Hair Loss and potentially even help assist to Regrow Hair? These are all questions I am currently still trying to answer, in the meantime I have decided to track the results by taking daily video shots of my hair to track its health, thickness, progression and regrowth. And from what I can tell my hair does seem to be coming in thicker and fuller including in the crown area and on top of my head, where thinning was already far advanced and balding very apparent. Let me know what you think of my results so far after about 5 Months of applying Hemp CBD Oil to my scalp once in the evening before bed:
  3. This 42-year-old gentleman had diffused thinning through the frontal ½ of his scalp. He elected to go with a FUT procedure. He received 3,257 grafts. These are his results 1-year post-op. The patient is extremely happy with his results.
  4. Hey y’all I’m looking for scalp micropigmentation in Colorado Springs. I found a SMP clinic called Divine Dermacare has anyone heard of it? It seems like a nice place...
  5. What's up.. I've been taking proepcia since I was 17 years old along with Rogaine and Regenpure.. that's been my regimen. I'm 22 now.. I took this propecia pill for 5 years 1mg a day everyday.. since I was 17 with little to no side effects besides no morning erections and watery semen.. I turned 22 oct 2nd of 2016.. as the months went on I felt like my penis wasn't working like it should.. my erections seemed much weaker.. I stopped being hard during sex twice with my girlfriend.. stimulation couldn't even bring it back up.. it was a disaster.. there were just times I could feel literally during sex my penis getting less and less hard.. that scared me. in the back of my mind I was thinking about the time it happened before and I think it made it happen so that wasn't fun.. it crushed me.. I was convinced it was mental but obviously that plays into it to.. it's been so hard.. then I contributed it more to propecia and obviously after that I just had to quit.. I don't get why 5 years later it's becoming a issue? I haven't taken propecia since January 9th.. my overall libido has improved but my hair doesn't seem to be.. there attached in my attachments.. being concerned like anybody else's would I decided to get blood work done.. those results are also in the attachments.. Basically propecia has kept my hair at a pause.. not to thin and not to thick forever now.. what concerns me is... having been off it for basically a month I can see my hairs starting to shrink and recede in the front and that's ruining my confidence.. I'm terrified to start propecia again and have libido issues.. and I'm even more terrified to let my hair go.. I don't know what to do.. are my levels normal? I don't know.. that's why I'm reaching out.. note this test was taken some time off of propecia recently.. I don't know what to do.. should I try Monday Wednesday Friday propecia? Can a once a week 5mg propecia solve my issues? Can once a week maybe twice keep my hair but my ED away? I don't get why this is happening to me now.. But what if that starts up my ED again.. what if that ruins the recovery I've been making off the pill.. I don't want permanent ED.. I'm only 22.. I don't want to lose my hair either.. is there anything I can do to keep my hair and not have ED? Why is this random ED happening now..?* I just want to live a normal life.. rogaine and regenepure and propecia is all I've been doing.. but recently it's been minus the propecia.. I don't want to lose my hair but I don't know what else to do.. I'm so lost.. is taking this pill anymore worth the risk? I don't want to watch 5 years of effort be wasted.. What should I do?
  6. Hey Everyone, The purpose of this thread is to thoroughly track and document my hair growth process and to assess the rate of success experienced by other users. That way it is easily traceable and we can focus better on how my regimen can bring you the results you are asking for. Over a 10 month period, I have used a comprehensive, synergistic, systematic, 100% natural regimen that has helped regrow about 60%-70% of my hair in the following areas: 1. Temples: youtube.com/watch?v=3_-qGI1b15Y 2. Crown: youtube.com/watch?v=prbKTsDfuj8 Part of this regimen includes detumescence therapy (DT) or intense massaging of the scalp. The following videos below show how to properly massage your head with DT in case any of you are interested. Part 1: youtube.com/watch?v=NL-KzAvkK_s Part 2: youtube.com/watch?v=olOwbnNDHbk Part 3: youtube.com/watch?v=wUmvE9cSRrQ ADVANCED NOTICE TO THOSE USING DT: To preserve the veracity of my character and statements, DT has only given me MINIMAL results. If anything, it only improved my existing hair. I frankly, and wholeheartedly believe it's not enough to regenerate new hair follicles, but is rather good for MAINTENANCE. If you are curious to know what actually worked, I would contribute about 80% of my success to the 1.5mm dermaroller and the other 20% comprising of diet, massaging, and the other methods listed on my regimen. FYI - I have only been performing the onion, garlic, and ACV topical for about a month, so can't give an accurate assessment yet. I know there are a couple of skeptics out there reading this thread and thinking this guy is a farce. I want to bluntly confess I am NOT, let me repeat, NOT here to waste your time or promote another ebook or sell another snakeoil product. I am not here to financially benefit from sharing with you my uplifting story; I am here to provide you with concrete evidence (before and after pics, journals, articles, books, etc.), if deemed necessary, substantiating my viewpoints. Please don't label me as a spammer, phony, or impostor, because those comments will be very offensive and it only will bring down this thread negatively. I am not the average Joe, but more like an educated Joe, who has spent an inordinate amount of time complying data from credible sources. I am here to genuinely document my progress meticulously and most importantly help you get the results you want. Sharing with you a wealth of information I have accumulated and experienced in the past through multiple trial and error experiments is what brings ultimate meaning in my life. My sole mission is to show and eventually prove down the line that baldness is not the inevitable predisposed to drugs. Under the right conditions, baldness can be reversed NATURALLY, but it's going to take a much longer time. After all, you are tackling a complicated condition with less potency than a synthetic drug that comes with all sorts of side effects. In case any of you are interested in my regimen, you can find it in the description box in one of the video links I posted above. Please let me know if you have any questions or input as such comments are admirably and generously appreciated! Reborn Hair PPP (Prayer, Patience, Perseverance)
  7. Hello, (sorry if what I am trying to say is hard to understand or doesn't make much sense) I am completely new here. I am 21-years-old. Since my early 20's I have noticed that my hairline has begun to recede. I have also noticed my hair has begun to thin out a lot. Before my hair loss you couldn't see my scalp what-so-ever, now you can see my scalp quite clearly if you look close enough. I used to have a thick mane of hair that I would style akin to Jim Morrison's. My father/other male family members are balding, their hairline extremely recedes, thins very profusely and develops a bald spot on top. Generally, it just leaves their hair on the sides. My father who is in his 60's is pretty much all bald. I can understand being bald in old age, but I'd like to keep my hair or what's left of it a little bit longer. I'd have to that if I do nothing about my hair, I will lose almost all hair on top by the time I am 35. I am fighting against my genetics. I understand that I really only have two options. 1. Go bald 2. Take Propecia. My questions are as follows. Before taking Propecia, I have read/watched both the good and bad sides of this drug. The success stories I've heard/read are amazing. The horror stories are equal in their measure, though. Is there anyway to tell before taking Propecia (1MG FIN) if I'll work well with this drug? Or is there any type of test or advice I could go by to better understand if I should just keep away from it? Obviously, I'd love to restore my hair to its former glory and return to my rocker hair days. Is the risk worth it? I'd rather be a bald healthy 21-year-old, than suffer over take Propecia. Please help me figure this out. I need some guidance. THANK YOU!
  8. This 31 year old was a class 4. After establishing his medical history and understanding the progression of his hair loss, I diagnosed his condition as Androgenetic Alopecia (male pattern baldness), ruling out any other possible dermatological or medical conditions which can cause hair loss. This patient’s objective was to rebuild his hairline and add as much density as possible to the frontal ? of the scalp. I explained to him that we need to take his age, present degree of hair loss and possible future hair loss into consideration when planning the surgery; it would be best to still keep some temple recession that will look good for him at 31 and will also look good as he ages. Additionally, I explained that there was a possibility that he could lose more of his own hair. If that was to happen, the transplanted hair would be able to stand alone and still look natural, but he would need another procedure to bring it back to the way it looks now. He had a total of 3,419 grafts. The break down was as follows: 1,452 single hair, 1,742 two hair grafts and 225 3 hair grafts. I used a significant amount of single hair follicular units which allowed me to create a very natural hairline. This action will allow him to comb his hair without anyone detecting that he has had anything done. These are his results 10 months post-op. Patient is extremely happy with his results.
  9. This 25 year old was a class 3 going into a class 4. After establishing his medical history and understanding the progression of his hair loss, I diagnosed his condition as Androgenetic Alopecia (male pattern baldness), ruling out any other possible dermatological or medical conditions which can cause hair loss. I explained to him that we need to take his age, present degree of hair loss and possible further hair loss into consideration when creating a surgical plan. I explained that it would be best to create a conservative hairline that will look good for him at 25 and also look good as he ages. It was also pointed out that with one procedure I would be able to add more coverage through the frontal 1/3 to ? of his scalp. I also explained that there was a possibility that he could lose more of his own hair. If that was to happen, the transplanted hair would be able to stand alone and still look natural, but he would need another procedure to bring it back to the way it looks now. I was able to harvest 3,688 grafts. The break down was as follows: 1,419 single hair grafts, 2,068 two hair grafts and 201 3 hair grafts. I used a significant amount of single hair follicular units which allowed me to create a very natural hairline. This action will allow him to comb his hair without anyone detecting that he has had anything done. These are his results 1 year post-op. The patient is extremely happy with his results.
  10. This 27 year old gentleman came to me with the goal of rebuilding his hairline and adding as much density and coverage as would be possible. I indicated that it would be best to create a conservative hairline that will look good for him at 27 but also look good as he ages. As we discussed all of his options, I pointed out that with one procedure I would be able to add more coverage through the frontal 1/3 to ? of his scalp. If he wanted more coverage than that, he would need a 2nd procedure. During the procedure, I was able to harvest 3,480 grafts. The break down was as follows: 1,425 single hair grafts, 1,906 two hair grafts and 149 3 hair grafts. I used a significant amount of single hair follicular units which allowed me to create a very natural hairline. This action will allow him to comb his hair without anyone detecting that he has had anything done. These are his result 8 months post-op. The patient is extremely happy with his result and mentioned that he has received many positive comments about his appearance.
  11. Hey all - I just wanted to post about my experience with scalp micropigmentation (SMP) from HIS Hair Clinic. I am in my early 30's, and I began suffering from hair loss starting in my mid 20's, specifically with diffuse thinning all over the top of my head. I tried everything to cover it up, from toppik to sprays, and even a hair transplant that did not give me anywhere near the density I was looking for.* Then I found out about SMP and HIS Hair. I had my treatment done in August 2013 with Zang in the LA clinic. I was so pleased with the result that I want to help spread the word to others who feel the same sense of desperation that I felt. I have attached "before treatment", "right after treatment", and "1 month after treatment" pictures here. Please keep in mind the "after" picture is immediately after treatment, so you will notice a little bit of redness (which subsided 24-48 hours later). More pictures of mine can be found on the HIS Hair forum as well. After years of reading forums and research on all the products and “solutions” out there, I can confidently say that my experience with HIS Hair has significantly changed my life. In fact, I have been so satisfied with the results they have provided me, I wanted to do my part to help others in a similar situation to my own get the opportunity to change their lives too. HIS has given me a 10% off discount coupon code for HIS Hair Clinic that I am posting below. If you're interested in the discount, or any other details of my story, feel free to send me a private message. I would be happy tohelp!* (Promotional content removed by moderator) Best of luck to everyone in finding your happiness!
  12. A conservative 1600 head hair grafts were used to create an amazing improvement in this patient’s overall appearance. The patient chose Dr. Umar for this procedure to repair the results of his first hair transplant which was done using the strip method. However, the outcome of this initial procedure was disappointing. Not only did most of the grafts fail to grow, but also he felt constrained by the presence of his scar which required longer hair lengths to keep it hidden. Extraction of Head Donor Grafts For this procedure, the patient wanted to target two objectives: add density to his thinning top cover his strip scar These goals required 1600 total grafts. 1200 were needed for the top region around his hairline. And the remaining 400 were allocated for the strip scar. Dr. Umar removed these grafts using Follicular Unit Extraction Although the patient had already undergone a previous hair transplant surgery, he still had enough follicular units on his scalp to meet these requirements. Therefore it was not necessary to harvest donor hair from other body regions. Patient’s Photos of His Final Outcome The images shown here reflect the patient’s appearance before and after his surgery. His improvements are not only attributed to successful growth yield, but also Dr. Umar’s careful and strategic insertions to recreate natural patterns and density on the head. This surgery was able to achieve a more youthful looking frame around the patient’s face and cover the scar so that he could finally wear shorter styles with greater confidence. Although his crown continues to remain empty, this region may be addressed in future procedures when the patient is ready to focus on this area. As another note, due to the patient’s distance residence from the clinic, he was only able to take photos of his final results himself as opposed to having images taken by our office. 13. This gentleman came to Dr. Arocha in his late- 30's. He was starting to thin in the crown to frontal area. The patient wanted to restore his crown and increase density to the thinning mid-scalp and frontal areas. Dr. Arocha performed a 3013 graft FUT procedure on the patient. He is currently on a medical regimen of Propecia. He is very happy with his after results. Click HERE for additional photos of this patient.
  14. Before Surgery: Hairline recession and thinning hair over mid-front scalp and crown No prior surgery Knew he would wear a short buzz cut, thus he did not want a linear scar Surgery: Goal: advance the hairline and add density using few grafts FUE hair transplantusing 3000 grafts to fill in a large area; nape hairs used to bring hairline forward. Surgery Results: For a short hair cut, less densely packed follicular units will contribute to a shadow effect that gives the illusion of fullness with FUE hair transplants Results shown are at 10 months post-operation To find out more about FUE hair transplant at DermHair Clinic, click here. 15. I am currently 21 years of age. I am suffering from a receding hairline. I understand that I am too young to get a hair transplant. My questions: At what age would it be fairly safe to get a hair transplant? How much could this potentially cost? Could I maintain a hairline that resembles a Norwood 2 (my current position)? I want to tackle this problem as efficiently as possible. From your experience what would you recommend? Thanks, Geoff
