My Story

  1. This 27-year-old gentleman had a hair loss pattern of a class 4v on the Hamilton Norwood hair loss scale. His goal was to rebuild his hairline and add density to the frontal 1/2 of his scalp. After establishing the patient’s medical history and understanding the progression of his hair loss, I diagnosed his condition as Androgenetic Alopecia (male pattern baldness), ruling out any other possible dermatological or medical conditions which can cause hair loss or impact the results of a hair transplant. As I discussed the options for a surgical plan with the patient, we discussed his goals, his age and his expected future hair loss based on family history. As we finalized his surgical plan, I was careful in taking into consideration the reconstruction of a hairline that would be suitable for him as he continued to age. A total of 2,550 grafts were used in the frontal 1/2 of his head. I used 1,410 single hair follicular units which allowed me to create a very natural hairline. This action will allow him to comb his hair without anyone detecting that he has had anything done. These are his results 7 months post-op. His results will continue to improve over the next 5-8 months. Note that I have also posted pictures from the day of his procedure and one-week post-op pictures. The patient is extremely happy with his results and is planning on doing another procedure to address his crown.
  2. This 25-year-old gentleman had a hair loss pattern of a class 2, going into a class 3 on the Hamilton Norwood hair loss scale. His goal was to rebuild his hairline and add density to the frontal 1/3 of his scalp. Taking his age and hair loss into consideration, I discussed the patient’s goals with him and we came upon an agreement for a surgical plan that would suite his expectations. I paid careful attention, when reconstructing his hairline, so that it would be suitable for him as he continued to age. A total of 2,033 grafts were used in the frontal 1/3 of his head. These are his results 10 months post-op. His results will continue to improve over the next 2-5 months. The patient is presently taking Finasteride to try and control further hair loss. The patient is extremely happy with his results.
  3. This 23-year-old gentleman had a hair loss pattern of a class 4v on the Hamilton Norwood hair loss scale. His goal was to rebuild his hairline and add density to the frontal 1/2 of his scalp. We discussed his age, hair loss and expectations for the surgery. The patient’s goal was well suited to his needs and therefore I planned the surgery according to what we had discussed. I put extraordinary care into reconstructing a hairline that would be suitable for him as he continued to age. A total of 2,523 grafts were used in the frontal 1/2 of his head. I used 1,130 single hair follicular units which allowed me to create a very natural hairline. This action will allow him to comb his hair without anyone detecting that he has had anything done. These are his results 7 months post-op. His results will continue to improve over the next 5-8 months. I have also posted pictures from the day of procedure and 6 weeks post-op pictures. The patient is extremely happy with his results.
  4. This 27-year-old gentleman had a hair loss pattern of a class 2 going into a class 3 on the Hamilton Norwood hair loss scale. His goal was to rebuild his hairline and add density to the frontal 1/3 of his scalp. Taking his age and hair loss into consideration we discussed his options and came upon an agreement for what would suite his expectations. I paid careful attention to the hairline while planning the surgery as we wanted to reconstruct a hairline that would be suitable for him as he continued to age. A total of 2,421 grafts were used in the frontal 1/3 of his head. I used 1,456 single hair follicular units which allowed me to create a very natural hairline. This action will allow him to comb his hair without anyone detecting that he has had anything done. These are his results 9 months post-op. I have also posted pictures from the day of his procedure and one-week after the procedure. The patient is extremely happy with his results.
  5. This gentleman was in his mid-50’s and had a hair loss pattern similar to a class 5v on the Hamilton Norwood hair loss scale. His goal was to get as much coverage as possible. With his degree of hair loss, I let him know it would take 2 procedures. Taking his age and degree of hair loss into consideration, we discussed his options and developed a surgical plan that would work well with his expectations. I paid careful attention to his hairline as I wanted to reconstruct a hairline that would be suitable for him as he continued to age and allow me to still give him some coverage in the crown. I used a significant amount of single hair follicular units which allowed me to create a very natural hairline. This action will allow him to comb his hair without anyone detecting that he has had anything done. The patient has had 2 FUE procedures and for a total of 5,076 grafts. These are his results, 10 months, post-op after second procedure. He is very happy with his results.
  6. This 36-year-old gentleman had a hair loss pattern similar to a class 4v on the Hamilton Norwood hair loss scale. His goal was to rebuild his hairline, add density to the frontal 1/3-1/2 of his scalp and also add a little density into his crown. As we discussed the patient’s goals, I emphasized that I would only be able to do some work in the crown in order to properly manage his expectations. He understood and we prioritized his goals. I created a surgical plan that carefully accounted for his age and the progression of his hair loss, paying close attention to creating a hairline that would be suitable for him as he continued to age, looked natural but also added some density to his crown. A total of 2,500 grafts were used in the frontal 1/3-1/2 and 300 grafts were placed into the crown. These are his results 1 year post-op. The patient is extremely happy with his results and is presently on Finasteride 1mg and Rogaine to try and stop further hair loss.
  7. This 27-year-old gentleman had a hair loss pattern similar to a class 4v on the Hamilton Norwood hair loss scale. His goal was to rebuild his hairline and add density to the frontal 1/2 of his scalp and add density to the crown. I let him know it would take 2 procedures to achieve those results. We discussed the patient’s goals and since they were well suited to his needs, I planned the surgery accordingly. We agreed that the hairline construction needed to be suitable for him as he continues to age, so I paid particular attention to ensuring this happened. A total of 2,736 grafts were used to rebuild his hairline and add density to the frontal 1/2 of his head. I used a significant amount of single hair follicular units which allowed me to create a very natural hairline. This action will allow him to comb his hair without anyone detecting that he has had anything done. The patient came back for a second procedure one year later and he received 2,000 grafts to add density to the back ½ of his head. These are his results 1-year after his second procedure. He is extremely happy with his results.
  8. This 50-year-old gentleman had a hair loss pattern similar to a class 3v on the Hamilton Norwood hair loss scale. His goal was to rebuild a conservative hairline, add density to the frontal 1/3 of his scalp and shrink the bald spot in the crown area. As I discussed his options with him, we agreed to reconstruct a hairline that would be suitable for him as he continued to age. Since the patient’s goal was well suited to his needs, I planned the surgery accordingly. A total of 2,186 grafts were used in the hairline and frontal 1/3 of his head and 400 grafts were used into the vertex area to help shrink the bald spot in the back area. I used a significant amount of single hair follicular units which allowed me to create a very natural hairline. This action will allow him to comb his hair without anyone detecting that he has had anything done. These are his results at 1-week post-op and 9 months post-op. The patient is extremely happy and has schedule a second procedure to have his crown filled in. I will update his crown results down the road.

  13. This 50-year-old gentleman had a hair loss pattern similar to a class 5 on the Hamilton Norwood hair loss scale. He had a previous strip (FUT) hair restoration procedure by another clinic about 8 years ago. His goal was to rebuild his hairline and add density to the frontal 1/2 of his scalp. Taking his age and hair loss into consideration we discussed what he wanted to see done and together we constructed a surgical plan that would suite his expectations. I needed to create a natural hairline that would be suitable for him as he continued to age. Therefore, I used a significant amount of single hair follicular units along the hairline. This action will allow him to comb his hair without anyone detecting that he has had anything done as it looks very natural. A total of 2,885 grafts were used in this patient’s FUE hair surgery. 17. Back in 2011 this patient came to see me looking to have a hair transplant. At that time, he was similar to a class 3 on the Hamilton Norwood hair loss scale. His goal was to rebuild his hairline and add density to the frontal 1/3 of his scalp. Taking his age and hair loss into consideration we came upon an agreement for what would match his expectations. After establishing his medical history and understanding the progression of his hair loss, I diagnosed his condition as Androgenetic Alopecia (male pattern baldness), ruling out any other possible dermatological or medical conditions which can cause hair loss. The patient’s goal was well suited to his needs and therefore I planned the surgery accordingly. At that time, I did 2,105 grafts with a FUT surgery. He returned to see me in 2018 for a second surgery. At that time, his hair had slightly thinned over the last 7 years and was looking for more density. I determined it would be better to have a FUE procedure this time. He wanted to move forward and therefore we proceeded, augmenting his hairline and adding more density to the frontal ½ of his scalp with 2,505 FUE grafts. The photos presented are a series of pictures spanning from prior to his 1st procedure to 1-year post-op after his 2nd procedure.
  18. This 34-year-old patient was a class 3v. He came to me wanting to rebuild his hairline and add density to the frontal 1/3 of his head. He elected to go with a FUE procedure. He received 3,195 grafts. These are his results 7-month post-op. The patient is extremely happy with his results. He does understand that there is a possibility he can lose more of his own hair over the years. He is presently taking Finasteride 1mg . https://youtu.be/UgG0GhoWzso
  19. This gentleman was a class 3 prior to his hair restoration surgery. He came to me in 2013 wanting to rebuild his hairline and add density to the frontal 1/2 of his head. He elected to go with a FUE procedure. He had previously had a small procedure of around 600 FUE grafts. His goal was to be very conservative and rebuild his hairline as well as add more density to the frontal 1/3. We did 2,200 grafts in 2013 and his results turned out so good that he decided he wanted to get more density in 2016, so we did another 1,600 grafts. These are his results 1 year after his 1st procedure and 14 months after his 2nd procedure. The patient is extremely happy.
  20. This 34-year-old patient was a class 2. He came to me wanting to rebuild his hairline, add density to the frontal 1/3 of his head, and temple points. He elected to go with a FUE procedure. He received 2,050 grafts. These are his results 7 months post-op. He will get more improvement over the next 8 months. The patient is extremely happy with his results. https://youtu.be/Snjc27Wx01M
  21. Hi Everyone - first time poster. I am a 32yom Norwood IV/IVa in the Chicago area considering FUE. Given my work schedule, I unfortunately have a very limited time period that I can get the procedure performed. I have searched the forums and understand that the recommended doctors are Drs. Konior, Keller, and Panine. Dr. Konior is no longer taking new consultation dud to his wait period. He has recommended Dr. Nadimi - I have not had a consultation and understand that she is new. I have consulted with RESTORE under Dr. Katona - and overall had a positive experience with realistic expectations and a price point that was within range (2000 FUE for approximately 12K). There have been no recent reviews of his work or discussion outside of him working on celebrities (Urlacher, Deion Sanders, Ryne Sandberg, etc). I was hoping people could comment on their experience with RESTORE, what are any hesitations going with them, and value (price for quality) relative to the others. Comments on the others would also be appreciated: 1. Dr. Katona/RESTORE 2. Dr. Nadimi (pricing same as Konior?, results?) 3. Dr. Keller 4. Dr. Panine
  22. After many years of consideration I have decided to take the plunge and get a hair transplant. I live in Chicago and would prefer to go to someone in driving distance. From reading the posts it seems that Dr Konior is highly recommended and has given consistent excellent results over many years. I've also researched Drs Keller and Panini, however, posts on these doctors are quite dated. So my question is if people have any recommendations for an excellent FUE doctor in the Chicago area?
