This 31-year-old male had 2084 grafts via the FUE (follicular unit excision) harvest method. He had spent much time in the past worrying about his thinning hair since high school. His main concern was the frontal zone of the scalp. We decided on the FUE harvest method since he likes to be able to trim his hair short in the back of his scalp for styling purposes. This 33-year-old gentleman had a transplant a few years ago at another clinic to increase the density of his frontal hairline. After the procedure, he felt that the hairline was not straight with the left side higher then the right side. This patient is a 48-year-old who desired to restore and define his frontal hairline and frontal scalp. He had 2,474 follicular unit grafts grafts placed into the hairline densely packed and frontal scalp as depicted in the before and after photographs. The postoperative photographs are 6-months after the procedure which shows excellent growth at this early stage. We plan to post his 1 and 2 year results when available.

This 59-year-old patient desired to have his frontal hairline redifined and filled in, and also increase the density of his crown. The photographs show his before and 1-year results in which approximately 1600 follicular unit grafts were placed in the frontal area of his scalp, and 1200 grafts were placed into his crown. This patient is a 41-year-old male who desired to increase the hair density in the frontal scalp via the FUE method. He wanted the option in the future to keep his hair short. This patient desired to increase the density of the hair in his beard and mustache. He said he was unable to grow significant hair on the cheek area, the sideburns, the chin region, or the top of the mustache. This patient is a 35-year-old gentleman who had a hair transplant several years ago with another physician in the Northwest. He was very disappointed for two reasons: the density that was achieved was not near what was promised, and secondly, the hairline design was too aggressive. This patient is a 46-year-old gentleman who desired a more youthful appearance as his hairline had receded over the past 20 years. He wanted to have a natural, age appropriate hairline and increased density throughout the frontal scalp. The patient had 2344 grafts placed in the frontal hairline and scalp over a year ago. The patient does not live in the Portland area, but sent in home photos showing his 5-month and 13-month progress. So far, the patient is very happy with the results. This patient is a 44-year-old gentleman who desired a subtle improvement to his eyebrows. He wanted only a few grafts placed on the outside and central body of his eyebrows to give a mild increase in density. He has always had sparse density on the lateral aspect of his eyebrows so he did not want anything drastic which would too noticeable as he is a public figure. This patient is a 33-year-old transgender female from Seattle who desired a feminine hairline. Her hair is light brown, medium thickness in caliber, which is excellent for frontal hairline and frontal-temporal recession restoration/transplantation. The reason that her hair is excellent for the transplant is that it is thick enough to give the appearance of nice, natural density, but not too thick which can give an unnatural look in the frontal hairline. This patient is a male-to-female transgender patient who presented to feminize her frontal hairline. The results show her 1-year result after 3524 follicular unit grafts were placed in the frontal hairline and frontotemporal angles. At the 1-year mark, she is extremely happy with the results as she is able to wear her hair down and style it in a very feminine manner. She has also enhanced the appearance of her hair by coloring it.

This female patient desired to wear her hair back; however, because of her naturally deep frontotemporal angles, she always wore her hair forward to cover them. She felt the alopecia in the frontotemporal angles gave her a masculine appearance, which she did not like. We densely transplanted 1892 grafts into the frontotemporal angles. This patient had 2752 grafts placed into the frontal hairline and scalp. He is now approximately 15 months out from his surgery and his hair has grown in very well. Most important to him, it is very natural and he has received numerous compliments from his family and friends who he shared it with. This 48-year-old patient of mine had surgery 2 years ago with about 3900 grafts to the frontal hairline and mid-scalp regions. He recently contacted us and sent in a photo of himself on vacation (only 1 after photo at this time). He is extremely excited about the transformation that took place with his hair and appearance, and stated that it really improved his overall confidence. He will be coming in soon for an appointment.
