Just treated this patient with round 2....at age 22 Dr Dorin initiated frontal restoration with 975 grafts via FUT - as well as Propecia. The recent second treatment of 1006 grafts targeted the same frontal zone for additional density.
Here is the initial thread:
3 years have past since this patient's initial consult. A total of 2665 follicular units have been transplanted to the hairline/forelock region. With some futher progression in the forelock, the majority of the front is now transplanted. He has been using Propecia during this time as well.
Common question asked by patients is "When will I start noticing growth from the procedure?" New growth usually starts anywhere from 2 - 12 weeks. This particular example shows very nice change at only the 3 month mark. Dr. Dorin wanted to reframe this patient's face along the front hairline but also rebuild the temporal areas - which are already well on their way
Total hair transplanted - 2665
355 singles, 831 doubles, 216 threes
Patient had received treatment from an outside provider that unfortunately left him with a poorly managed donor area - the scar measured @ 13c mm at its widest. A typical ultra-refinded scar is @ .5 mm to 1 mm.
Dr. Dorin removed the previous scar and utilized 623 follicular units from the revision strip to bolster density centrally and to the interior of the left hairline.
Recently saw this patient in follow-up. He had his procedure in July. Progress right on target if not slightly ahead of the game at this stage. Will update again in about 4 - 6 months.
Below is the link to the initial thread:
Dr. Robert Dorin performed an 1602 graft FUT to treat this female's thinning hairline and temporal areas caused by traction alopecia. It has only been 4 months but the areas are already in development. Will update in @ 4 months.
This patient in his late 20's showed a developing Norwood 5 pattern with certain progression to a NW 6. This was a challenging case due to his lower than average donor density (@ 55 fu/cm2 ). Given his age and evolving pattern, Dr. Dorin did an initial treatment with focus on the front/top region and concomitantly initiated medical therapy (Propecia). With the addition of 2,779 transplanted hairs and what would be considered a very positive response to Propecia, the initial restoration process was successful and a huge change for the patient. Dr. Dorin may do a follow-up treatment of approximately the same size in the future.
This patient from Boston came in recently for follow-up. Its been 3 years since we first initiated his hair restoration. Prior to treatment, although a bit difficult to discern from the before photos, he presented with a classic 4 pattern with signs of progressing to a 5A. In transplanting over 3400 follicular units to the front, central region, and vertex, we successfully transitioned from what was really a transient, miniaturizing coverage to a healthy foundation of permanent natural transplanted hair. Propecia is also part of this patients regimine.
Total grafts: 3449
Total hairs: 5422
1502 singles - 1921 doubles - 26 threes
Dr. Dorin performed a hair transplant on this female who had lost both temporal and frontal hairline zones due to traction alopecia and chemical treatments. The photos here show the healing phase, which is generally about 7 - 10 days. 0f the 1965 follicular units transplanted, 604 are singles, 1105 doubles, and 256 threes - a total of 3,582 hairs.
