Thought I'd post my experience with Dr. Arocha in Houston Texas. You can check out my bio for my background and pre and post op pictures. I did a lot of research before deciding on where to go or even if I was going to have a procedure. I'm very glad that I did. First, I searched based on the best results I could find, without taking location into account. After months of going through the internet and hair restoration forums I had narrowed it down to a four doctors. Of those four, the best, most natural results I found based on reviews and patients posts was Dr. Arocha. Luckily he was actually instate which made the choice a no-brainer. The consultation went well, he was very honest and realistic in regards to what could be achieved based on my donor site. He and his team were very thorough and attentive, they answered any and all questions I could come up with. Needlessly to say, I called the next day to schedule the procedure. Currently, I am 4 days post operation and all went exceedingly well. Dr. Arocha and his team were first rate and I couldn't be happier with the experience thus far. The surgery itself went rather quickly and painlessly. His team made me feel very comfortable and relaxed throughout procedure and there after. I have posted pictures in my albums of the areas they worked on from pre-op as well as from the day after the procedure. I will periodically update with new pictures as I heal. So far the healing is going well, very little discomfort and I am very excited by what I've seen so far. I had 1727 grafts, and I am not sure yet of the breakdown as far as how many were H1, H2 or H3, but will update that information after my followup visit next week. Anyhow, just thought I should share my experience, since those of you that had shared yours really helped me. Feel free to PM me with any questions at all and I will try to get back to you soon. Good luck! -MikeinTexas

This local Vancouver patient was around 30 years old when he came to see us regarding his hair loss. As evidenced in the before and after photos he was a good candidate for hair restoration and a significant cosmetic benefit was expected. He had previously taken Proscar with no issues but stopped. Dr. Hasson felt a restart of the medication would be a good to preserve as much of the existing hair as possible and the patient agreed. The result depicted is 1 year post-op and required 5266 grafts. 1334 singles, 3521 doubles, 411 3-4 hair grafts. The strip was 30 cm long and varied from 1.5 to 2 cm in width. His co-workers were informed from day one he was undergoing a hair restoration procedure and were eventually very impressed with the result.

A 25-year-old male wanted to slightly advance and add fullness to his hairline and frontal scalp without compromising the pre-existing hair in that area. A 2036 FU session with Carlos K. Wesley, M.D. (NYC) can be seen before, during, and 12-months later. The accompanying video also illustrates the overhead view of the young man's scalp one year after his platelet-rich plasma (PRP) - enriched follicular unit transplantation (FUT) session with Dr. Wesley.

Patient is a 28 year old male with a significant family history for MPHL. We post this case to reinforce the concept of lifetime donor/supply vs lifetime loss/demand, as well as illustrate "what it looks like" seven days after surgery, with short hair; we get that last question very often. Here, our plan includes a conservative hairline with recession, placed behind the existing one, and reinforcement of the midscalp area. It is critical in this patient category to plan for the future by anticipating future losses and NOT attempt to "fill in everywhere". There is a limited donor in every patient that must be respected, and this is usually concurrent with a much larger lifetime demand (area of potential loss requiring transplant). Understanding this lifetime imbalance and creating realistic surgical plans is key to long term transplant success. Also, note the look at seven days post op- if the hair is about 1/2 inch longer, the transplant would be fairly undetectable. It is however, some patient's choice to keep their hair short, so this example is for those considering that option. We are able to accommodate any hair length at surgery. Total: 2528 FU grafts; 728 one's; 1345 two's; 455 three's.

1200 scalp FUE 1400 Beard FUR 1000 Chest FUE 250 Pubic FUE Results seen are after 6 months. One set of pictures shows initial hair growth at 6 weeks after the procedure. The scalp had very low density. He wore a wig for over 24 years before opting for surgical hair restoration. This is the greatest advantage of FUE- the donor area is limited only by the patient's and doctor's imagination!
