  1. Overview Hey everyone, I wanted to document and share my experience getting an FUE procedure with Dr. Hasson at H&W in Vancouver. I am 25 years old and live in Florida, USA. Background I would say my "hair loss" started as early as age 16-17, when my forehead started to get higher. It continued at a very very slow pace, so slow that I never even considered the fact that I was actually experiencing hair loss that would eventually lead me to going bald. I've always had a really big head and got made fun of it for it throughout my younger years, but it never bothered me and I always rolled with the jokes. It wasn't until I was 23, after a haircut where I asked the stylist to go a little bit shorter than usual, where I looked in the mirror and realized what was happening. That's when I started to freak out and my life definitely changed. As I'm sure many of you are familiar with this feeling, you begin to become obsessed with hair and hair loss. I would go out and the first thing I notice on any man is his hair or lack there of. I hated this feeling and I thought to myself...is it going to be like this forever? I experienced mild depression and a lot of anxiety from my thoughts on hairloss, thinking that I'm doomed and there will never be a better day for my hair for the rest of my life. My dad has thinning hair, maybe a NW3-4 but is still holding it together for a 60 year old man. His brothers are all very similar. His dad had a full head of hear when he died at 93 years old. So I grew up thinking, I will just end up looking like one of them. However, when I started researching hair loss, I realized it can come from both sides of your family. My moms dad and brother both had advanced hairloss NW5-6 before they passed. So I sat there thinking, f*** I'm SCREWED! One of my friends, who has absolutely no filter, was with me and my other friend who is experiencing hairloss, a bit more advanced than mine, jokingly mentioned that we should get hair transplants. He wasn't being serious, but it made me think, is that a real option? I always thought it was only for celebrities and not for the common man. So I began my research and within a week I had set up a free consultation with a local HT clinic near me, a doctor who is in all the top organizations and uses ARTAS. This doctor quoted me for 1500-1700 grafts using the ARTAS and also encouraged me to start using finasteride. I immediately rejected the idea of taking a pill for the foreseeable future, as I live a pretty natural lifestyle and don't like the idea of pharmaceutical drugs. Regardless, after he wrote me a prescription, I did some research online....that FREAKED ME OUT!!! Everything that came up was how I would have permanent erectile disfunction and would essentially be trading my sex life for keeping my receding hairline. I rejected the idea of finasteride for about two months, before realizing (after reading through the scientific journals and other patients experiences) that the chances of side effects are very low and it is basically my only chance of retaining the hair that I have. With that said, I have been on some sort of finasteride for almost a year to the date. I took generic finasteride for 6 months before I decided to switch to brand propecia (1mg), and I couldn't believe the difference that I saw in the reduction of shedding. That made me swear I would never switch back to generic, no matter the price. Since then, I have switched to brand proscar cut into 4s to take 1.25mg/daily. Anyways, months go by since I visited the original HT doctor and I thought I had pretty much decided on going to him because he was local and it would be convenient. However, once I found sites like this, I was able to see the results of other clinics and I began to think: maybe I should consider traveling for such a momentous procedure. I knew I wanted to go with FUE because of my young age and liking to keep my hair shorter on the sides. But the more I researched about FUE techniques, the more I did not like the ARTAS system and leaned more towards a manual punch. I was incredibly impressed by the work of Dr. Erdogen at ASMED and their results, but I also saw the H&W started to offer FUE but didn't have many published results. Thats when I saw spideys results and started to consider H&W for my procedure. I actually appreciate the fact that they took so long to get into FUE and that they were guided into practicing FUE with Dr. Erdogen and ASMED. Reputation is everything in this industry and I knew that if H&W had chosen to go into FUE, that they knew that they could stand behind their results. No offense to the other clinics, which I have seen many good results, but for my own sanity I needed to go to a clinic that I knew I would feel comfortable with. About my hairloss Like I said, I have been experiencing some sort of hair loss since I was 16-17 when my hairline started to get higher. My corners slowly receded and got to a point around age 23 where I became really uncomfortable with how I looked and I was constantly worrying about my hair. I have a big head so any hair loss is more pronounced than someone with a normal sized head lol. If I had to self-assess, I am somewhere between a NW2-3. Day of surgery First let me explain to you the craziness of my journey to Vancouver. I booked my flights around 5-6 months in advanced after I had booked my procedure with Dr. Hasson. My plan was to fly out of Pittsburgh, because I was going to be in that area visiting family before I went to Vancouver. So my surgery is scheduled for Monday 08/08/2016 @ 7am and I am about to fall asleep with my wife in the hotel near Pittsburgh on Saturday 08/06/2016 @ 11:00PM, when I shot out of bed and realized that I had forgotten my passport in Florida. I started to freak out, because my flight to Vancouver was set for 9am the next morning. My only option was to buy 2 new tickets: one from Pitt to Florida and one from Florida to Vancouver, so I could go home, grab my passport, and fly back out. Money was not an option at this point, I could not miss this appointment!!! Luckily, the tickets didn't come out too expensive, especially when you consider what it would have cost in $$ and opportunity costs if I didn't do it. So I flew back to FL, drove home, grabbed my passport, went back to the airport, and flew to Vancouver. I arrived at the Sheraton downtown in Vancouver at 1:30am and needed to be at the clinic at 7am the next morning. I got a few hours of sleep and headed to the clinic and got there on time. I filled out the necessary paper work and went in to talk to Elena, the lead tech who performs the extractions. She is super nice and knowledgable and told me I had nice donor hair. This surprised me because I thought that because I have more fine hair, that I wouldn't have a ton of donor capacity. Dr. Hasson eventually came in and inspected my donor hair, telling me I have approximately 8,000 FUE donor bank which made me ecstatic. I also have good laxity, but a strip procedure is not in my plans for anytime soon. Dr. Hasson drew three different hairlines on one side of my face to see which one I would like best, in which I went for the most conservative option. As much as I would have liked to go for a lower hairline, I would rather save any grafts I have for future loss. I never had any desire to lower my hairline, as many of the males on my dads side have high foreheads and before my corners started to vanish, I was never unhappy with my big forehead! He also gave me the option of having a more curved shaped hairline or more straight, in which I opted for a more curved hairline because I thought it would look more natural and I would age better into it. After we decided on the hairline, Elena shaved a bit into my hairline where the grafts would be inserted and then shaved my donor area. After that, the extractions began. Yes the anastesia injections are a bit painful, but I knew that going into the surgery. During the actual extractions I felt absolutely no pain at all, but I have a bad lower back and it became sore after laying flat on my stomach for so long. I brought my ipad and cell phone that I watched movies on and texted my wife and friends during the extractions, looking at the devices through the hole where my face was in the chair. We probably started the extractions around 8:30am and broke for lunch around 1pm for around 30 minutes. During lunch and through other parts of the extractions, there would be 3-4 techs on microscropes cleaning and separating grafts into singles, doubles, and multis. Then we finished the extractions around 4PM or later (I can't remember exactly). Thats when Dr. Hasson came in and made the incisions. He gave me a clicker to help keep count of the # of incisions he had made, where he would count to himself silently to 100 and then I would hit the clicker. He is very thorough and took his time. After this is when the techs started to implant to grafts. I asked the main tech (can't remember her name, sorry) how long she had been with H&W and she said 10 years! Inserting the grafts took a few hours, but it was the most relaxing part of the procedure since I was able to sit upright and watch netflix on the TV. When we finally finished up, it was close to 10PM and the staff helped teach me about how to wear the hat they give you, the different medications, and all other post op care. I have attached some pre-op pics I took of myself months before the surgery, but I will update soon with the pre-op and post-op pics from H&W themselves. I hope I can help others that are considering HTs in the future, especially those around my age. I did an insane amount of research and I suggest you do the same if you are on the fence. Do not just jump into something like this, like I almost did when I began considering HTs. I'm in the hotel now and do not feel any pain, but I do look kind of crazy lol! I had an old couple on the elevator ask me "what happened to you?" and I replied "I had hair surgery." They were really nice and told me they hoped I healed fast. I am nervous about traveling through the airport, but once I get home I'm sure I will be at ease. I have a wonderful support system around me with my wife, family and friends and that definitely helps a lot. Thank you to the entire H&W team for a very nice experience. Im so glad I chose this clinic and can't wait to get this recovery process started. Also thank you to this forum and all its members and moderators. It has been very informative and helpful in my decision, you just need to know how to sort through all of the crap sometimes. I will update soon with pre-op and post-op pics!! I also want to give a special thanks to N0Air (member on this forum) and Doug from H&W for the info they share on this forum to help other members.
  2. Hi everyone. This is my first post here. So, I figured I would share some information about my recent hair transplant. I recently had 1,500 grafts (FUE) transplanted to the front of my head by Dr Victor Loria. I met with Doctor Loria a few times prior to my surgery. He (along with his staff) treated me very well and I was given a thorough explanation about the method that he would be using durring the proceedure. There was no pain involved and I slept durring most of it. It has been around five months and my transplanted hairs have grown out about an inch. I'm happy with the results so far and I am looking forward to seeing what I look like when all of the grafts have finished growing out. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask me.
  3. I've narrowed my search down to Hattingen and Dr. Rahal. Had a consult with Hasson & Wong, that didn't go too great. Nothing to do with my expectations or theirs (my expectations were actually quite modest as compared to theirs to be honest) but felt it just isn't the place for me. Consulting with Rahal and Hattingen later this week. One thing about Rahal is you can find loads of first hand patient accounts. Since Hattingen is located in Europe, it is really hard to find any person that has gone to them and shared their experience. Anyone know of anyone, even if there has been forums outside of the HTN that have patient experiences with Hattingen?
  4. Hey guys , so my surgery date for 2000 FUE grafts supposed to be on 11-19-2018.. I had 5 buisiness days prior to surgery to make full payment .. I have the whole money in my bank account , but had lost my debit card the week prior .. so they wanted me to use PayPal so I signed up for it but I had to wait for my confirm with PayPal before I can pay .. so the office manager told me I had until 3pm yesterday to make payment .. even though I told i be able to do it tomorrow.. she still cancel on me and reschedule me for the next earliest date October 28th 2019 for FUT or FUE.. I’m kinda upset about it . Since my PayPal account is active now I’m able to pay .. so I’m a day late n they still canceled .. but kinda glad cuz I rather do FUT to save money .. and it’s wiser to do fut ur first transplant .. I told them I want to be on their cancellation list for upcoming cancels .. but right now , I feel like going to giving Hasson n Wong a consult .. diep clinic can steal my $1000 deposit .. I’m not waiting a whole year , I’m not crazy about their FUT , I like his hairlines though .. but their office is not very customer friendly .. .. so is Hasson n wong prices on their website Canadian dollars? I think I might go to them if their schedule is open .
  5. Yes and No: i mentioned two conditions (lupus & thyroid). I actually only have thyroid. But both are definitly related to hair loss, that's not even a debate. So there's that. And I think your misunderstanding what I'm saying. I clearly have AGA, it's just the loss has been kickstarted due to other conditions as well. As far as my donor area is concerned, I've had a face to face with many doctors, including Hasson. Excellent donor with little to no chance of any thinning or loss happening in the back, and that's from Dr. Hasson. Estimation, 4500 grafts. Not concerend with the donor area, thus FUT.
  6. I feel the same way, honestly I don’t think I’d be where I’m at now if I was still bald. At the time when I barely had any hair left. I just didn’t want to be a cueball. Now I’m amazed at where I am. Granted I still use concealer to look 100%, but having this hair allows it to look 100% natural. I’m also eternally grateful to Dr. Diep, guys chamged my life. One poster mentioned surgeons only do it for the money, but come on, there’s no way Dr. Hasson doesn’t look at you and feel good about himself. You’re his masterpiece. It’s an accomplishment like a trophy. He’s spent the money you paid for your transplants long ago, but the satisfaction of his work will never go away.
  7. I started losing hair at 17! I remember being on the bus home from college, before even being aware myself I had any issues and someone commented on my receding temples! I became acutely aware of it at 18 and grew my hair forward in an attempt to cover it, as it thinned, it became more obvious that it was a bad comb forward! at probably 21 i could no longer hide it and would find myself not going to places where I couldn’t this wear a hat. I even wore a hat in the house to hide it from my parents! At 24, I decided to shave my head to see how it looked, but my hair was so thin at the front that it looked like I had no hair on top and no disearnable hairline. from then up until my first procedure at 26/27 I withdrew socially and wouldn’t go anywhere at all without my hat even though I used concealers every day! looking back I feel I wasted 10 years of my life being so paranoid about my hair. I also used to look at people and friends with hair and experience extreme jealously and ask “why me!?” Looking back now that seems silly, but it affected me that much. at 27/28 after my first hasson procedure it’s no exaggeration to say my life and my confidence completely changed, my hair is now far better than at 18, and I regularly get compliments on my hair, people asking where I get it cut/how I style it etc, no one is aware I had a transplant... not just for the the quality of the work (although that’s a big factor), but also the lengths I would go to to hide my hair loss pre surgery. Now at 38 years of age I have people thinking I’m in my 20’s, and a few months ago I got carded buying alcohol!lol the friends I used to be so jealous of having hair are all now balding to some extent and are now envious of my hair!lol in all it’s no exaggeration to say that if I hadn’t had a HT/‘s then I wouldn’t be where I am in life or as happy as I am because I’d still be as paranoid about my appearance and attempting to hide it and myself away from everyone! Not to sound like an infomercial but Dr. Hasson and his team completely changed my life and I will be forever greatful
  8. Guys, There is no perfect surgeon. Dr. Hasson has had negative reviews every surgeon has had less than stellar results or reviews. It’s important to speak with happy and unhappy patients.
  9. Hello Everyone, Last year (Nov.2017) i made my 2nd HT at Asmed clinic Istanbul about 5146 grafts Fue method in NW5 pattern. Some infos about me... I had another acc here many years ago but due to inactivity i forgot my account and i created this one to show my progress. I am male 36y old and i have made 2 ht's. First at 2009 with strip method at Dr Hasson about 3200 grafts in the frontal area and temples. And 2nd at 2017 at Asmed clinic. about 5146 gafts. A total of ~8400 grafts. I would like to post foto's during my progress to discuss things about my progress etc. but due to limited free time i didn't make it.... But now i created a video about my progress to share with you, from the beggining to the final result and i am very pleased with the result. the video is here you can watch it at 1080p for better viewing and i am open to disscuss any details & questions or pros or cons about my situation. etc.
  10. Dr. Hasson/FUT 7902 grafts/one session This patient from Italy in his early 30’s wanted to lower his hairline in addition to restoring his crown. Fortunately, his donor hair was exceptional allowing Dr. Hasson to harvest 7901 graft via FUT and accomplish this goal in one session. 2355 grafts were singles, 5071 were double hair grafts and 476 were 3-4 hair grafts. The texture of his hair was coarse. Due to his extremely high donor density, the strip was only 1.5 to 2.0 cm in width and around 34 cm in length. He took these photos and his result was shared on the Italian forum Bellicapelli. The photos aren't perfect but I think you get the idea.
  11. Patient in his mid to late 20’s traveled from New York to see Dr. Hasson about his hairline and frontal zone loss. Good donor with hair shaft diameter on the finer side. Dr. Hasson and team transplanted 4260 grafts to restore the hairline, frontal zone and a small portion of the mid-scalp. 938 were single hair grafts, the remaining 3322 were 2, 3 and 4 hair grafts. We did not always document and break down the singles from the larger grafts back in 2005. Still looking good nearly 13 years later as he approaches 40 years old. Placement shot taken 10 days post-op, we did not usually take immediate post-op shots back in 05. While his scar was good, he wanted to improve it even more. 312 FUE grafts were recently placed into it to further minimize. 18 were single hair grafts, 177 double’s, 117 were 3-4 hair grafts.
  12. Looks awesome Legend! Your donor is super thick so I'm expecting a home run result. Pretty cool Dr. Hasson explicitly guaranteed his work, and put it in writing. When I asked Dr. Diep to do the same he said no lol.
  13. great write up, and love your Q&A with Dr. Hasson! nothing better than an informed patient as you obviously are - heal and grow well
  14. Okay, so the next week I flew to Canada .. around a two hour flight from California.. reason I chose to go with H&W? - They are a Top clinic , n I can’t take a chance of risking surgery n spending so much money on lower tier clinics . I also liked that they can dense pack the hairline, so I won’t have to go back again for a second pass for density . ( very important to me ) N when I asked the patient coordinator if they gurantee their work . He said of course buddy , it’s what we do here .. so By hearing that , i know already their customer service is going to be good. Customer oriented .. n I have peace of mind that I’m not spending $20,000 for average results . - n also , I was doctor hasson’s only patient that day .. Doctor Wong was doing FUE on another patient .. so I was really happy about that .. I wanted personal attention , n not feel like I’m at a hairmill . - I also changed my mind with going with FUE n wanted to do an FUT now.. since I felt I should maximize my donor with FUT first then do a FUE later on in life .. at first I never thought I would consider FUT but since I keep my hair medium to long .. the scar isn’t a big deal to me. Especially if it’s a clean , small scar, u won’t ever see it on me .. n it’s also more cost effective .. $12,000 for 2500 grafts fut vs $20,000 for 2500 FUE.. - When I arrived at the clinic . I got to meet Doctor Hasson for the first time n he gave me a evaluation . I insisted that he Measure my hair caliber with the densitômeter .. donor hair is around 80 microns top of head is around 70 microns . n the hairline around 40 microns.. It seems like I’ve been thinning all these years, good thing I got on finasteride last year , to hopefully slow it down .. I showed him the pic from above , of when dr. diep drew that hairline for me . I told Doctor Hasson to get close to that. After further examining my head he said I should do FUE with 2500 grafts .. since I still have a lot of hair up top , he didn’t feel like he can get it dense enough to match my native hair with 2500 FUT. since there be more single hairs than needed from a FUT .. then he examined my head n see if I even had enough laxity for a fut.. n I didn’t I booked this surgery date with h&w on a week notice .. so I didn’t have enough time to do scalp exercises .. I also have a small head n not much body fat .. my scalp is tight .. so right there my choice was to go FUE or go home . My first choice to do FUE anyways , so I was fine with it .. since he explained to me that FUE gives a denser hairline ( less see through effect ) because they can cherry pick all the bigger grafts . That makes sense to me .. n even though it costed me $8,000 more , totaling $20,000. It’s worth that extra cost today . - I also asked him how many FUE have u done ( since they are famous for their FUT) he said around 1,000. Then I asked who’s going to be doing the extraction, n he pointed to his tech Carmen . Then I asked how many years of experience does she have. ( I can be kinda blunt sometimes ) He said 4.... then he reassured me that she was really good , n that she can hold her own extracting against other doctors during the hair restoration conferences ... i asked doctor hasson straight up if he will gurantee his work ,. I gave him the terms of at least 90% of growth , n not have one side denser than the other .. I was like I don’t want to come back if it doesn’t grow well , n he was like we don’t either .. then I asked if he can put it in writing , n he said do u want me to sign it too? I was like , yeah ! after that I was good to go , I requested extra meds , so I can sleep for most of it . N requested that they shave my hair not too high so I can cover up my surgery . N I asked Carmen the extractor tech , to not get too many hairs from the side ( since it’s thinner ) n not overharvest any one area, I don’t want bald patches .. she said okay I also asked doctor hasson to go up as high as possible on the recipient area . Replace the miniaturized hairs on the hairline . So I can build that wall of hair .. - it’s a good thing I’ve Done my research ; n know what to expect and know what I want and ask for .... to be cont. .. pics are right after we finished the implantation ., it looks clean , nice n dense .. not too bloody either .. n the 8.5mm punch is barely noticeable ..
  15. He isn't asking about FUT though, he's asking about FUE, Dr Diep has quite a few FUE's documented on here and on youtube where as Dr. Hasson has a few but really has been a specialist in FUT from what I've researched, fair enough though, just seems you are going with the one who has less documented FUE results.
  16. my personal preference of who's the better HT surgeon based on documented results - overall skill and artistry if I had to choose just between those 2 doctors - I would select Dr. Hasson every time
  17. Vancouver area patient around 60 years old at the time of his procedure. Dr. Hasson and team transplanted 4,200 densely packed grafts via FUT to rebuild the hairline, frontal zone and mid scalp. 1214 were single hair grafts, 2843 were doubles and 143 were 3-4 hair grafts. Hair shaft caliber was on the finer side but the overall donor hair characterizes were ideal. These photos were taken at the clinic just short of 14 months post-op.
  18. Hello Forum. This is my first post. I had an FUT with Dr. Hasson in March 2018. 5113 Grafts, of which approximately 2/3 went into the front and 1/3 into the crown. I'm submitting some photos of the journey and my results so far. Here are the pre-op pics. Sorry, I don't have any pre-op pics of the crown area.
  19. Hello, I had a FUE by Dr. Erdogan in February of 2017 and it has been nearly 20 months at this time and wanted to ask a few questions and see what people think. I am a little dissapointed in my results. That is not to say that my results are a total failure, but my main goal going into this procedure was to fix my hairline. I had a botched FUT in 2013 in Colorado. I then had a repair and small FUE with Dr. Konior in 2014. I then had 3200 graft FUE with Dr. Erdogan in 2/2017. I think if money was no object I would have gone with Konior for my last FUE but all the research I had done suggested that the best FUE results were coming out of turkey, in particular Dr. Erdogan. Also, when I had my FUE with Dr. Konior, extractions were done with a rotary tool, something like a power drill type device and I was lead to believe that manual punch extraction was in some way better. Regardless of my reasoning I am here now, and must move forward and deal with the situation. My problem is that I still have a very think hairline, and have to comb my hair in such a way as to cover my hairline. All I want is to be able to brush my hair back and not have a very odd, thin hairline. I have not contacted the clinic for follow up. At this point I would like other peoples thoughts on how to move forward. I do not think my hairline will thicken up enough to avoid needing another procedure. I am thinking of contacting Hasson and Wong or another person a little closer to home. Anyhow thoughts and suggestions are welcome. I posted a before and after pic and have many more pics I can post if people would like.
  20. @ILikeMyHair As I have seen your another thread in which you have mentioned you had your first procedure with Dr. Hasson & Wong and now with Dr. Soni, both are best hair transplant surgeon as per my research. I myself feel that 8 months are not good enough to see the full results, you might have seen patients with slow rate of hair growth and getting delayed results, in some cases it takes more than usual time may be up to 15-16 months. still, you have a good hair growth in 8 months, look decent after combing, don't be impatient, let the hair grow fully. I strongly believe Dr. can transfer your hair root, but he cannot improve the quality of your hair by surgery & thin hair never gives a very dense looking output, you should be very practical. Please share whether you are taking finasteride for hair thickening as I can see they are very thin in nature.
  21. Hey guys ,, so I need to confirm with H&W today to book it or not .. even though I would of liked to have surgery with diep .. but this is a good alternative .. getting 2500 fut grafts for around $12000.. im choosing them because I know they are excellent with the scars . Able to dense pack the hairline and have good customer service and guarantees their work .. Their hairline drawing is okay .. but I will delegate to Dr. Hasson to be aggressive with my hairline n to mimic doctor dieps hairline drawing he has of me .. So should I take the plunge ?
  22. I'm trying to figure out where I should go from here. Had my first transplant at 18 or 19 years old. I had an accident when I was 11 that left me with a significant scar on my scalp that always bothered me. One night I saw an infomercial for hair transplants and thought maybe they could transplant hair into the scar. I had a consultation and the Dr. and he said he could do it. I understood nothing about hair transplants and had no idea what I was getting into. The first procedure was around 700 grafts. The doctor not only transplanted into the scar but also transplanted into the temple area's and created a new hairline to help cover the scar. The results were not good, the first person to see me with my hat off said, "God, gave you a wierd hairline." I was devastated and went back to the doctor to see what could be done. He said we just need to fill it in with more hair. I was desperate and so I did it. I ended up doing 3 procedures with this doctor from the the age of 19-22. I honestly though it was going to be one procedure. After the third procedure grew in I finally knew it was only getting worse. I didn't know it but every procedure was making the situation worse. I was no longer concerned about the scar but now my new hairline. There were odd angled hairs, pitting, multiple hair grafts, it looked like doll hair. I posted my story on a website and was told to go see some other doctors, to get their opinions on my situation. I went to Hasson and Wong and also Shapiro. They said it was criminal what was done to me, and all the doctors thought my best bet was to cut the entire hairline out with a resection, and then come back in and create a new hairline to cover the scar from the resection. This path terrified me. Then I was told that we could possibly use FUE to remove the hairs from the hairline. I choose the FUE route, which in retrospect was a mistake. I've been through 3 FUE procedures to remove the hairline, and just last year I had another FUT procedure to help soften and bolster the hairline. So where I'm at now. I've lost a lot of hair, a Norwood five for sure, maybe a 6 or 7. There are still hairs from the old hairline that need to be removed, still have some pitting, and multiple hair grafts that I'd like to get rid of, my crown is mostly bald, I have no more laxity, so strip procedures are done. I have some donor left if I go the FUE route, been estimated somewhere between 3,000 to 4,000 available. So what I've been thinking is I have two paths to choose from. More transplants till I use up my donor, and pray the Proscar allows me to keep what I have, or I could shave it all off, get SMP into the scar, and hope I could get comfortable with it. I've visited a few doctors and SMP practioners and I get different opinions. I'm really uncertain what to do. I get concerned that if I keep losing hair I simply wont have enough donor to keep up with the hairloss. The shaving scares me because of the strip scar, and pitting I have in hairline, that would be exposed if I shave. So I'm just trying to figure what I should do and hoping to find some feedback. I'm working on getting some good photos.
  23. sorry to hear about your situation, I can relate because I had a HT when I was in my early 20's in the 1990's, no idea what I was getting into other than I thought it was a solution to my fear of starting to lose hair, but it was the exact opposite, I got plugs put into my hairline which was fine for a several years until I lost more and more hair. I suffered for decades styling my hair in the most creative ways to try and conceal my hair loss, using hair sprays, gels, comb-overs, etc. I finally had enough after doing quite a bit of research and coming across this site, doing my research on new techniques, best in class doctors, etc. I finally got a few consultations with some top notch docs including Feller, Hasson, Shapiro, Konior, but settled on doing FUE with Rahal. I can't tell you how freeing it was to finally correct a problem and fear I was living with for years ... it was the best thing I could have done for myself. I hope you find a solution to your issue to, maybe Dr. Umar?? If your donor is depleted, he does some great work with body, beard grafts. Post some pics of your condition so others can give you some advice as well. Best of luck to you.
  24. Hey friends! I'm looking to schedule a HT with Dr. Hasson in a few months (I've already had a consultation with him). The thing is that I can't take a lot of time off of work. I'm curious how many days you guys have had pain and inflated faces. I would love to hear all about your own post-op experiences, or any advice you may have!
