  1. As i stated at the onset of this thread, i had a skype consult with Dr. Wong and felt very good about it. However, after waiting this long, a video consult just wont cut it. Plus, i am curious to meet Dr. Hasson also, and he doesn't do video consults. Booked a consult with both. Flying from New York. Their rep, Chris, was very helpful in working with me so i could see them both same day. I have no doubt Dr. Konior is great, and we have emailed back and forth, but the guy is just so freaking busy. Getting a consult can be hard enough. I haven't closed that door, but leaning towards H & W, unless i get a really bad vibe after the in person consults. Wish me luck:-)
  2. This Vancouver-area patient in his early 30’s was bothered by his lack of a hairline and eroded frontal zone. He started losing his hair around the age of 25, and his loss progressed to the point where he wanted to do something about it. He had good donor density with average texture hair. His scalp was on the tighter side which added to his suitability as a candidate for FUE. Dr. Hasson and team harvested 4210 grafts over the course of 2 days. Most of these grafts were transplanted into the hairline and frontal zone with some blending into the mid-scalp. 597 were single hair grafts, 2692 were doubles and 921 were 3-4-hair grafts. These photographs were taken approximately 1-year post-op.
  3. I love the result bro, and no I don't think it looks thin at all. Looks completely natural and with a lot of maturing to come probably. I am schedule for a consultation with Dr. Hasson soon and your thread was a big motivator for me. Do you think any doctor could have done a better job than this? I don't.
  4. This Vancouver-area patient in his mid 30’s started losing his hair around the age of 25 - most noticeably up front. His hair loss gradually progressed, eventually advancing to around a stage 4A on the Norwood scale. He approached Hasson and Wong hoping to lower his hairline and restore the necessary areas of the frontal zone. His donor hair had good density and hair texture was on the medium to fine side. Dr. Hasson and his team successfully transplanted 3055 grafts via FUE in order to achieve the goals set forth for his hairline and frontal zone. 562 of these grafts were singles, 1919 were doubles and 574 were 3-4 hair grafts. His desire to have FUE also met with Dr. Hasson's approval and the fact his scalp had a little less than average laxity, it made sense on several levels. These photos were taken at the clinic roughly 12 months post-op.
  5. I had my FUT with Dr. Konior a few months ago, really great experience and enjoying some early growth. Feel free to PM if you have further questions. They both have a strong reputation for mega sessions. I'd be more inclined to go with Hasson for hairline work and Wong for crown work. I wouldn't say Hasson's results are necessarily better, but he's posted some serious home runs over the past few months.
  6. Is it a common consensus on this site that Dr. Hasson's results are significantly better and consistent than those of Dr. Wong. Bismarck had mentioned that and made me curious. Of the two, who is better at mega sessions?
  7. Hello Everyone, Many of you may know me formerly as 'literalno'. I want to preface by saying that username was made in complete negativity before I knew anything about hair transplants and what they can do for people. I was aimlessly searching for answers to my fears associated with propecia and stumbled across a particularly unsightly before/after ultimately assuaging me from ever becoming one of "those hair transplant guys"; hence literal(ly)no(never). I decided to make this thread around the 6 month mark ( I am now a little closer to 7) to promote good vibes for the second leg of the process since I am quite frankly not at my end goal, but very optimistic for what should be the most productive leg of this often tumultuous journey. Much of my skepticism stems from how my hairloss occurred in the first place, and the measures I have taken thus far to fix it. It started very suddenly a few years ago during a rough time in my life. I was going through a tough period and the stress seemed to spur its onset seemingly overnight. I knew what had happened, but everyone around me obviously assured me "its all in your head" (yeah right). About two years ago I was at my wits end before coming across Dr. Amaya Prasad's "Hair Regeneration" treatment in New York (this guys should honestly be put in jail for making these claims, complete snake oil). This miracle injection featured A Cell AND PRP (WOW) as he claimed it halted and in some cases reversed hairloss all together. I was sold and flew to New York within a month, paid the $15 000 up front, got the injection, and slowly but surely thinned some more only this time more rapidly. By a few months time, I knew it was failure and I needed to try something else. Next thing I know I'm on a plane to Boston getting A Cell + Adipose Derived Stem Cells injected into my scalp (I have the lipo scars to prove it) and finally my hair would be saved. Of course, this was not the case, however the only saving grace was that the Dr. in Boston kept recommending finasteride. It took my a few more months to finally bite the bullet and get on the drug. Been on it for about 2 years, with a brief stint of Dutasteride until my doctor felt uneasy about that one, and I halted everything to a snails pace at long last. Of course after all of these experiences with Dr's who "have my best interest in mind", I remain skeptical of everyone and everything until I am proven otherwise (on my own scalp that is). Finally deciding to get a hair transplant was not a task I took lightly. I got to the same point as everyone on this forum does, an inflection point where you choose to suffer and wear hats 24/7, or take a step towards fixing the situation as scary as it may seem. I researched thoroughly for about a year, combing through result after result, and was conflicted between Hasson and Wong and RAHAL. I was able to meet three Rahal patients before my surgery, and the results spoke for themselves. There was also one bad H and W result floating around that ultimately confirmed my choice, and I chose Rahal and FUT to maximize my yield since I am young and want to conserve as many grafts as possible. I was assured during consultation by Sita, some of you may know here here, that Dr. Rahal has close to 100% yield and I believed (and still believe) her words. I don't want to go into details about the surgery itself as I plan to do a big one year post to look back on the last year, I hope in fondness. There's really no point in delving too deep into the minutia of anything until at least that date. It could have been the best time of life or not but that doesn't change the only thing that matters: the end results. I would like to bring attention to a few concerns I've had along the way in hopes of getting some feedback from members who I'm sure have shared my sentiments at some point. I was grafted at approximately 40 grafts/cm squared (roughly 70+ hairs per cm). In my opinion, this would provide me with the coverage I am after, however after my 10 hour surgery, Dr. Rahal did mention it may look thin in some instances. Though I appreciate the honesty, it did get my mind spinning especially after what I had just endured moments before. I reached out to Dr. Nadimi at around 3 months to get her opinion on what that may look like, and her feelings were quite the contrary as she assured me that in the area I showed her, 3000+ grafts would indeed provide a pretty dense result. This may simply be a difference in opinion between the two doctors, but of course contrary information leads the mind to wander. Does anyone know or have a result similar to 40 grafts/cm and like to comment on how that appears in person? I would like point out that my reaching out to Dr. Nadimi is in no way a slight to my trust in Dr. Rahal. I would not have gone to any clinic if I did not have the utmost conviction in their ability to produce a good result. It is merely me as a patient seeking a second opinion on a matter that concerns me, and that's it. In now way does it reflect any negative connotation towards Dr. Rahal and the credibility of the clinic. Unlike many threads I've looked at, my grafts were very scabbed over within 5-7 days of my surgery. Many of the hairs had definitely released themselves from their respective follicle at that point, so I never really got to see a 'buzzcut' representation of what I should expect before the shedding phase as is common among this forum, particularly with Asmed patients. Having not seen too many similar examples, I questioned whether those grafts has survived or not, but have been assured that there is no real way to know until the final result. I've read from a few different doctors online that the visual presence of grafts in the scalp about a week after surgery is a sign they have survived, so naturally it has been on my mind somewhat. My surgery took just over 10 hours. After the surgery, the clinic's lead technician Mike commented on the procedure was like placing "9000 grafts instead of 3000" because my skin was quite slippery and as a graft was placed, the adjacent grafts would slip out. Dr. Rahal has himself said this may slightly affect yield, but other Dr.s on realself say they have never heard of this phenomenon and attribute that to poor skill of implanters. Of course, I know this is not the case at a clinic with the reputation of RAHAL, but would like to know if other patients have experienced a similar thing and how everything turned out for them? Lastly, at approximately 1month post op, I went into the clinic (I live in Ottawa) to see if Larissa (my patient advisor) could try and apply some topik to the persisting redness of my scalp as I had a few job interviews coming up (for anyone in a similar position, the redness went completely unnoticeable and was not a factorv whatseover). The topik looked absolutely ridiculous and I wanted to rub it off almost right away. She proceeded to use an alcohol wipe to hasten the process, but her rubbing was very hard and did hurt my scalp quite a lot. Obviously after looking after transplanted area with extreme care for the previous month, being SUPER, SUPER gentle the entire time, I was very concerned with whether the pain and tingling I felt would affect the grafts. I've read many times before the clinics such as Asmed and Lorenzo say not to even use clippers for the first 6 months as it could damage the area, but I'm not sure how necessary that really is. Larissa and Dr. Rahal assured me that the grafts were deep within the skin and could not be harmed, but I'm sure you can agree that any painful sensation on a newly grafted area is worrisome at the least. Anyone have any thoughts as to what they have heard from their respective clinics, if anything at all? As for those results, I wanted to hold off on starting a thread until I had something closer to the final thread, but there seems to be a lack of posts by actual Dr. Rahal patients, so I figured this would as good as any for prospective patients looking to track a result as it dues completion. It's tough to comment on my progress in terms of percentage of total grafts sprouted (doesn't appear to be 50% if looking by grafts/cm as most have well below 20 atm), I'll let my pictures show everything and the forum can decide objectively how it's looking. I will say that I appear to be a very slow and gradual grower, so I'm just letting time do its trick for the time being. I have read and seen many results that improve night to day between 6-7 months and a year or later, so I am hoping I am on track for the same. It's easy to get fixated on those that are early growers, so for now I'd prefer to spread positive vibes. This procedure is does not come free of anxiety, we all know that, but I gain solace in knowing that this clinic performs multiple surgeries each and every week and has been for the last 15+ years. They are masters and though the process may be long, they know what they are doing. The following pictures start with my pre-op photos, then post-op, 7-days post op (scabbing), a dr. frietas result at 10 days that shows what I mean about being able to see the majority of individual hairs still attached to their grafts before they shed, and finally photos photos taken by me at 6 months. Would love to hear everyone's thoughts on the progress so far.
  8. I had a great experience with Dr. Hasson for 6200 FUT in April.
  9. Looks like Hasson is a member of ISHRS but DR. Wong isn't. Although he received a golden follicle award from ISHRS in 2011. Is being a member of ISHRS really that big a deal?
  10. Thanks Spanker! I would say any hairline placement and design in our clinic has special considerations. Bone structure and facial features play a role in addition to donor reserves and final hair loss pattern among other considerations. In this particular case if I can take you into the mind of Dr. Hasson and convey a few things he might have been thinking: The existing forelock is lower than in the typical mature male hairline but it is strong and it does not appear to be miniaturized to any material degree and looks like it will remain in the foreseeable future. His donor reserves are good and I don’t see an aggressive final hair loss pattern. If I try and restore a higher hairline, it will not blend as well with the existing level and therefore the cosmetic benefit and aesthetics will be greater with a lower hairline. I don’t see any particular long term risk with this hairline given donor reserves and projected final hair loss pattern. Even if he does progress farther than anticipated, his donor reserves will be sufficient to restore the necessary areas to support this hairline in the future. All things considered, this hairline will suit him best without putting him at future risk.
  11. @Bigjab I just sent you a PM but I'll sort of copy/paste that message here to help others. Anyway, as my friend @HLPToronto said I made an extensive research and I am a sort of mental when it comes to chose the best product or Dr. - Demirsoy, 80%+ of the cases present on here, turkish, german, italian forums are positive to very positive. He does one patient per day and perform himself the most critical parts of the surgery. Great communication with his patient advisor. Affordable. Contacted about 15 former patients privately, 14 gave an extremely positive feedback. - Bhatti, I almost went with him but lack of communication and his very bad attitude in his replies made me wait. Very low density in most of his cases. Too many marketing users everywhere, it looks all made up. Similar cost to Demirsoy. - Yaman, similar cost of the above two, very incosistent, some good job, many other bad results. He is a gamble. Can't remember if he performs the surgery about himself. Being a member of IAHRS or other associations from my understanding is just bullshit. To be members they have to pay a fee. What's the point? Being able to go to a conference once on every blue moon. On my opinion, it's purely marketing. Cinik, is one of those chep bets you can make. He is a gamble exactly like Erdogan but a least cheaper. If you are extremely tight on budget, maybe. I hate tech clinics so I am against it. I am not saying Demirsoy is the n. 1, in my opinion he is the n.1 in that price range. There are many other great surgeons that charge 5times more though. At the end of the day, my opinion is that the surgery is nothing astronomical, it's a pretty straight forward procedure, simple I would say. That is why I can't justify clinics like Hasson & Wong charging about 8times more than Demirsoy....what for!? I felt very offended when i got their quotation!!! They are good but honestly It is a mistery to me why patients go to them paying that price... Other thing, if a Doctor is recognised on this website/forum, it doesn't mean he's good if you know what I mean. Do your research, speak to real patients, that's the way. I hope it helps. Cheers
  12. I went to Dr. Diep, seems to gets good results (I'm only one month post op, so no personal experience). However, my donor feels a bit more abused than others I have seen. Wasn't a bad process overall though. Canada is pretty close, why don't you also check out Hasson and Wong? I chose Dr Diep for his hairline skills and familiarity with Asian hair. However, if I ever need another, I'm checking into H&W for the area behind hairline
  13. I haven't seen any posts by him or patients in a long while it seems. I did like his work however. If he is not, who is among the best now? Asmed seems to have taken a step down from what I can tell due to the immense volume going through there. Hasson and Wong for FUE? Konier? I'm looking at about 4k (accoring to earlier Asmed estimate).
  14. Vancouver area patient in his early 40’s had an overall decent head of hair but the weakness in the hairline and frontal zone was bothering him. He had good donor hair with texture on the fine side. Dr. Hasson and team transplanted 4035 grafts via FUE to rebuilt a lower hairline as part of a high-density frontal zone restoration. 328 were single hair grafts, 3239 were doubles and 468 were 3-4 hair grafts. With the option to elect either extraction method, the decision to employ FUE was made easier considering a tighter than normal scalp. These photos were taken at the clinic 9.5 months post-op.
  15. I’ve seen some homerun cases from Dr. Hasson for FUE
  16. I've said it before and say it again: Dr. Hasson does not do Skype consultations and for the life of me, I don't know why. Dr. Wong does however.
  17. As promised, here is the latest Dr. Hasson 4,000+ graft FUE result:
  18. Vancouver area patient in his early 30’s. Without the proper initial research, he fell victim like many others who might have felt that there may not be a big difference from one clinic to another. Likely influenced more by cost than quality, he chose a clinic in Istanbul for his first hair transplant. As can be the case with many locations, there can be a number of choices, not all created equal. As this site has stated for many years: “Be Careful!” It did not turn out as he had expected and he wanted to correct the previous work and achieve his original goal of a nice hairline with good density. Upon evaluation of the work done in Istanbul, Dr. Hasson noted the hairline and tissue exhibited ridging, cobblestoning, misdirected hair, multi-hair grafts, low density, etc. All of these conditions are unnatural and can draw the wrong type of attention. Today’s modern hair restoration should never present any of these conditions. Excision of some grafts inappropriately placed that blunted the temporal angles would also be required to achieve the most natural result. Shortly after his initial consultation, he came back to the clinic to have the offending 95 misdirected grafts in the temporal angles removed ( see photos with marker highlighting areas to remove). When the temporal angles have been improperly blunted especially with hairs pointing in the wrong direction, removal is often necessary if the most natural looking hairline is to be created. In some cases, we can work around poorly executed previous work but to what degree and with what sacrifices if any is determined case by case. Dr. Hasson and team then later rebuilt a new hairline blending into the frontal zone with 2,000 grafts via FUE. 343 grafts were single hair, 1329 were double hair grafts and 328 were 3-4 hair grafts. These photos were taken 1-year post-op. GRAFTS REMOVED PRIOR TO HAIRLINE RECONSTRUCTION:
  19. Hello guys, i have recently recieved a hair transplant with Dr.Victor Hasson. 2146 grafts to the frontal hairline. I have been on propecia for 5 years which has grown my hair back quite a bit and stopped my hairloss. I recieved a few PRP treatments which to my suprise thickened my hair up lots, i will post pics. Finally i did lots of research and decided to book with dr.hasson, my surgery was march 7.2017. 2146 FUE grafts were placed in the frontal hairline area. The surgery took a long time. Everyone was great and helpful, i was just glad to be having it done and fixed finally. I went to the clinic afterwards for 2 days to recieve hair washes and after that i followed post op intrustions for washing. I am currently on day 6 post op still have some scabbing and crusting, tomorrow is the first time i can use shower pressure to help loosen the crusting/scabbing. I will be updating this as time goes on and hoping for the best. Thanks for looking and hope to hear from all of you! First pic is 6 days post op. Second pic is pre-op, you cant see the one side as much because my hand is covering it but it went back maybe 1.5 inches more then the other side/temple.
  20. FUTvsFUE has settled on both combined are always better than one vs the other. That’s a strong list, but there are other excellent surgeons. Dr. Shapiro, Hasson and Wong, Dr. Diep, Dr. Mohebi, Dr. Feriduni, just to name a few.
  21. Hi Bonkling, If this question is for me, considering I am a representative of Hasson and Wong, I will answer from my perspective. If you’re asking if there is a difference between Dr. Hasson and Dr. Wong, the simple answer is yes. However, there is not much difference in terms of skill level and how they would be ranked and perceived within the industry. Both are considered among the best in the world and as you have likely seen here, are capable of producing results equal to or greater than any other highly respected surgeon. The patient can choose which doctor they’d like if their research has led them to one over the other. In most cases, a patient is suited for either. If I feel for whatever reason one doctor may be a better fit than another, I will tell the patient so. As an example, Dr. Wong typically does more female patients than Dr. Hasson so a female may be assigned to Dr. Wong. CosmoKrammer, Both Dr. Hasson and Dr. Wong are proficient in both FUT and FUE. We have felt for a few years now that either doctor can produce our industry-leading results with either method. Harry_potter1, Each doctor has his own highly skilled team. In some cases when required, a member from one team will assist the other team but not often. It is interesting how things happen on the forums. One member may express an opinion and maybe it gains traction. I’ve heard these things for years about Dr. Wong is better with crowns, and Dr. Hasson is better with this or that, etc. I find it amusing as I know both are equally as talented in cases where one is considered better than the other. Maybe check back to our site. We’ve put more FUE results up and placed some more prominently in the first few pages. Presently 11 of 12 results are FUE on the front page of our Gallery, 4 of which are 3,000 grafts or more. We will also be adding another Dr. Hasson 4,000 + FUE result to the gallery and I’ll also post here very soon. 8 of the 11 are Dr. Hasson’s FUE results. Bonkling, We typically estimate or recommend a higher number of grafts than most clinics. We will usually put more in a given area and have the staff to perform large mega sessions. As I have stated before, you have to have a certain density for it to look natural and you need large numbers for large areas of thinning or balding scalp. Some clinics don’t have the technology or staff to accomplish the numbers in one session. We sometimes kid that no one comes back and says: “Doc, you gave me too much hair” If it was to happen, we would be leading the way in those cases. 😄 jj51702, Dr. Wong’s contributions have been instrumental in our summit to the top of the FUE field and he is a little more involved with regards to conferences, organizations, and colleagues. While Dr. Hasson may not be as involved to this extent, his contributions at the clinic level are not to be dismissed. His results will suggest that his lack of involvement does not diminish the quality of his work. In the end, if you are not sure who might be the best fit, let the team at Hasson and Wong help you decide. If we feel there is a reason why you should have one over the other, we’ll let you know. But if it comes down to either Dr. Hasson or Dr. Wong, you’ve already made the right decision😄
  22. I've no idea how they operate and I am curious too, but they have same team and their results seems the same quality of each other. So I don't feel it is. Some say Dr.Wong is better in crown work, but I am not buying it That will be a surprise, most Dr.Hasson results are FUT In fact, I searched on their website couple of weeks ago, they have very few FUE for 3K or more sessions in their result section, and they were mostly by dr.Wong And some of the FUT mega sessions by Dr.Hasson is out of the world
  23. i’m always so impressed with how clean and dense H&W transplants looks immediately post op. great age appropriate hairline. congrats to the patient and Dr. Hasson
  24. Spex, Don’t appreciate your snide remark. If you have a question about something that has been edited, why not to be an adult professional and send a moderator a private message asking about it. Are you a team player or are you a self seeker peddling your own agenda? I think the answer to that question is obvious. However, we have put up with it because you do provide some sound advice and you haven’t blatantly broken any rules As for the editing, Dr. Hasson deleted his own posts. So, it was no longer appropriate to host any replies to his posts including posts that quoted his deleted comments. Frankly, this was obvious so I can’t imagine that you didn’t know this. But this that means that you were trying to stir the pot and become a poison and otherwise healthy well. And that will not be tolerated. I suggest sticking to the scope of the topic and be professional and your responses. Frankly, this was obvious so I can’t imagine that you didn’t know this.
