Advice for Hair Loss Sufferers Considering Hair Transplant Surgery

My Story

Found 3,726 results

  1. Why no Dr. Hasson mentioned here? He did mine and I was extremely impressed. Keep in mind, I am only 3 weeks post-op. But the procedure itself was extremely professional and H+W is getting some superb FUE results.
  2. I never said Dr.Hasson was an expert in FUE. And the inference that was made by Doug was the survival rate was similar but in that same example he said the patient would have more grafts in a lifetime if he went FUT. Dr. Feller, questions don't mean I disagree with you. I would strip and then FUE at the end. I'm not attacking you so not sure why you are so hostile.
  3. For the record, Dr. Hasson didn't claim that he was an expert on FUE, however he did claim that Erdogan and Lorenzo were, noticeably not Dr. Feller and Dr. Rassman or any other American doctor. Also not sure why you expect to get a memo from Dr. Hasson on this Dr. Feller, the industry doesn't revolve around you, whether or not you think it does.
  4. I can't speak for what other people say or why they say it. Nor does it matter. The facts are the facts. FUE causes more trauma to the grafts and therefore do not grow as well as their FUT counterparts. Dr. Hasson firmly understands this and has always agreed with this reality. If he has changed his position on this he certainly never shared his reasons with me or anyone else that I know of. It would be nice if he shared his revelations with the public. That would make for a great forum topic. What I do reject is the reasoning that because Dr. Hasson (or anyone else) is an excellent and world class leader in FUT that this somehow makes him an expert on FUE. It doesn't. Nor did Dr. Hasson or Doug make this claim for themselves. The inference was entirely made up by anonymous online lay posters.
  5. Aren't H&W members of the ISHRS? They allow their staff to cut tissue. Jerry Wong | Hair loss doctor | International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery Victor Hasson | Hair loss doctors | International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery I'm not sure what to say about this but you don't seem happy about it. You moved 900 grafts, with FUE. Hasn't he had 7 or 8 surgeries and 4000 or more grafts? Back to the issue, what do you Dr. Feller define as an FUE megasession? How many grafts?
  6. Dutchie, I am very disappointed to have to come back to this thread to see that you have not honored (for the second time) your decision to stay silent and give your hair transplant and Dr. Hasson the time you said you would before posting on this topic. First, I see posts about some kind of alleged magical shampoo which I can only assume you are trying to attribute to the last 2 months of excellent growth you said you've seen instead of Dr. Hasson which is grossly inaccurate and unfair. Secondly, you've referenced phone conversations where Dr. Hasson has made nasty comments to you on the phone and Dr. Hasson has assured me that he hasn't even spoken to you let alone made nasty comments. Third, you are being grossly inappropriate to other members of this forum, using profanity and sending harassing private messages. It has become blatantly clear that you not only can't honor your promise to stay off this thread until the amount of time passes that you suggested, but that you are going to unfairly malign Dr. Hasson and other members (just because they don't share your opinion). I now feel that the only fair and appropriate thing to do is to keep this topic locked and go back and remove all the disparaging posts that were posted after you agreed to stay silent. If when the time passes and you wish to email me at help@hairtransplantnetwork.com with updated photos and a request to update this topic with detailed, appropriate photos and your genuine opinon, I may open the topic temporarily for you to post an update or post the update on your behalf. In the meantime, it's clear that you cannot conduct yourself appropriately on this topic or with other members of this forum. Thus, I am going to suspend your posting privileges. This may only be temporary however, we are not babysitters and we don't have time to monitor your posts to see what inappropriate thing you're going to say next. Again, we may reinstate your posting privileges when the time comes for you to give us a update. But if I see you trying to rejoin or act inappropriately under another account, you will be permanently suspended. Your cooperation is expected. Bill
  7. I just received a phone call from Dr. Hasson. While I investigate these concerns, I am locking this topic. In the meantime, I ask that Dutchie does not post on this or other topics. I will make a decision on what to do with this topic after I investigate these concerns. Bill
  8. My response here is both difficult and easy at the same time as I cannot sit by and watch continued and unfair damage to Dr. Hasson and his reputation. So we went from this shampoo or conditioner to bashing Dr. Hasson and the clinic again? I have had conversations with Dutchie that have gone well. I believe, as it may have been eluded to here, that we would both have good things to say regarding those conversations. I found Dutchie to be a pleasure to speak with and reasonable on the phone regarding his case. I understood his feelings and concerns. We always stand behind our work and I told him we would make it right if the result was indeed less than we expected. We agreed maybe he and Dr. Hasson got off on the wrong foot and I was going to take care of him from here. We agreed he was to come out here in March so we could evaluate his result in person. We offered to take care of his travel expenses. Shortly thereafter he then informed me about the ingredient in question and then 10 days later that he has grown “quite a bit more hair” and seemed to be excited about it. At some point along the way he had decided he wanted to hold off on the trip to Vancouver. I told him to keep me posted. I have not spoken to him or texted him or received a text since March. I have also spoken to Dr. Hasson. He informs me he has not contacted Dutchie since last November. Dutchie did send him the sarcastic text in mid-January, which was the last contact between them. So, when I read Dutchie’s quote, I was surprised: “ Oh and BTW, worst aftercare EVER dr. Hasson!!! Its almost to the point of harrassment now. And please stop calling or texting my phone number!! It clearly casts another negative and anyone reading it would assume: a) we have been texting and harassing him and b) he does not appreciate it. So I ask myself why would Dutchie say this ? Aftercare? I have always been available for you since our first contact. Who could be harassing you ? Then the comments about Toronto patients? I have to take Dr. Hasson at his word that he has never said that. In my 15 years at the clinic, Dr. Hasson has told me a lot of things, never have I heard him say a negative word about Toronto patients. One of our consultants is a Toronto patient. Dutchie:You know what, I dont need this shit. I'm gonna ask mods to remove this thread. We'll give dr. Hasson (and his fake reviewers) what they want. Some have said that this thread has brought some value. Maybe. I believe its little value if any is greatly overshadowed by its significant damage to both Dr. Hasson and for that matter Dr. Wong along with the many who are considering a hair transplant. If someone researching hair restoration comes across this thread with its contradictions, misleading and confusing content and concludes that Dr. Hasson and or Hasson and Wong is not the place for them, it has done a great disservice. In my opinion, that potential patient has the greatest chance of getting the best result possible at Hasson and Wong and with this thread he or she may have lost that opportunity. For these reasons, I agree with Duthcie, this thread should be removed. Duthcie, you have been a straight up guy on the phone with me and like I said, I have enjoyed our conversations and actually like you personally aside from what has transpired on this forum. But I am disappointed in this last round of dialogue. We mutually agreed to certain things. You have not done what you said you were going to do in terms of commenting about your case. Your quote from 2 months ago: “I've been in contact with H&W and I've agreed with them to hold off any further comments until we both sit down and have dr. Hasson have a look at this whole thing.” I wish you would have reached out to me before all of this. If you’re getting good growth in the last 2 months and are optimistic about the future and giving it until September then why all of this other stuff that continues to be unfair? We haven’t been given the chance to see you and I’ve not seen any recent photos. If indeed your procedure results in a in failure, based on Dr. Hasson’s body of work I still feel a strong case could be made he was very unfairly treated in this thread. If your hair is growing like you say and the result turns out to be good, then what would you have to say about all of this? I’m sorry? Sorry doesn’t reverse all the damage done, why resort to all this in the first place? Especially after we spoke, got along and agreed on everything. 15 years at H&W, this is a first. Maybe I’m slightly more than disappointed.
  9. I think you mean "lay" not "lame". You are certainly anything but "lame" from how well you write. But you are right. You have no surgical experience and unfortunately no amount of online reading, participation, or enthusiasm can give you the insight you need to truly understand the surgical differences between FUE and FUT. And in my opinion you are getting precious little genuine advice from the professionals on this site who should be giving it to you. I give lengthy responses because, unfortunately, virtually none of my colleagues chime in on the online forums to educate patients due to fear of being attacked or perhaps simply because the truth may affect their bottom line. FUE can be quite good for business, can't it ? Your conclusion that yields between FUE and FUT are similar is just not true. I'm telling you this as an experienced hair transplant physician. It's not your fault, though, you have been misled intentionally and unintentionally to this very false conclusion. The variation in success between the two procedure are often VAST. If the results between FUT and FUE were THAT close there would not be an FUT procedure anymore. Yet this is clearly not the case. Please look at the results posted by all the doctors that do both FUT and FUE on this site alone. They are required to post results in their profile section. Look there right now. Virtually none of the posted results are of their FUE patients, much less megasession patients. And not a single doctor, Dr. Hasson included, has given up their FUT practice in favor of FUE. Why do you suppose that is ? Because FUT grows better and more reliably and they know it. Their results demonstrate that reality. Doctors in this country and others are performing FUE because that's what the patient wants. Simple as that. The marketing campaign of some clinics and equipment manufacturers along with massive online FUE hype has made the public believe they can have their cake and eat it too. Doctors who perform FUE are progressive and capable, and doctors who perform FUT are antiquated. That is the online lie that has been pedaled since 2010 or so. It is incorrect to claim you have seen "failed" FUTs because you have seen stretched scars in the donor area. The PRIMARY measure of the success or failure of a hair transplant is in how well the hairs grow in the recipient area. And in this arena, FUT is the undisputed king. Your observation also completely ignores the massive amounts of scarring inherent to the FUE procedure. Just look at this post by a worried FUE patient made on April 9: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/186691-1500-grafts-donor-square-patch-visible-after-fue.html Most patients seeking FUE are scared to death of having the strip procedure performed. Many CLAIM they don't want the strip because of the line left in the donor area, but this isn't so. Most are just afraid of having a strip surgically excised from the back of their head but publicly claim it is the linear scar that they object to simply because they are embarrassed to admit their fear. It's actually understandable and probably represents millions of potential patients. Patients want to believe that they can have a "non-surgery" surgery. And way too many doctors allow them to believe that is the case. Hence claims of "scar free" surgery or "scalpel free" surgery. Both lies which will get a doctors license yanked in the United States. Third world doctors may say whatever they want in their advertising with little to no reprisal. And many certainly do either directly or through surrogates. You said "in the right hands" FUE is as good or better than FUT. I have no doubt you have read many make that claim about a select few hair transplant practitioners. Yet never once have I seen the actual practitioners who can do BOTH ever make this claim. Not even once. Doesn't that make you think? I tried to have a debate on here with two other doctors who only perform FUE. The thread got corrupted by trolls and troublemakers of the like in their effort to shut it down. Perhaps that should tell you something. The bottom line was I asked them to write and stand behind their belief that the FUE graft procedure does not cause MORE graft trauma then the FUT procedure- and both balked. As they always will. To claim otherwise is to deny informed consent to your patient. At least the doctors in the United States know that and will not make a false claim that will jeopardize their medical license. Is it any coincidence you don't see FUE "heroes" and mills in the United States ? Do you honestly think that is due to the genetic incompetence of the American doctor ? So the world looks to America for advanced surgical technique in everything except hair transplantation ? Come on. Does that make common sense ? Let's face it. You WANT a surgery that is good as strip but without a strip. I get it. But few patients will get that. Instead they will most likely get a poorer final result with more damage to their donor area. Instead of ignoring the bad FUE stories on this and other websites, read them and think why they are unhappy. The know they will never get back the hairs that FUE killed. You never hear that coming from an FUT patient. Make hair growth your PRIMARY concern. Don't be misled by wishful anonymous online posters and the doctors who are only too willing to service them. If your primary concern is successful hair growth go with a proven FUT doctor knowing your chances of regret are FAR lower than it would be for FUE. And conversely, where you chances of a great result are higher. Best of luck in your choice. Dr. Feller
  10. Dr. Feller, Thanks for your lengthy response. Although I AM a lame person when it comes to performing surgery, I can still make an educated guess. The result is what matters to most (all?) people (paired with conscious prediction for the future loss) . I've came to the conclusion that in the right hands, FUE yields similar, if not better result than FUSS/FUT. I've seen people in person to assess their own results, I've seen countless results (yours and other doctors on HTN included). I just don't understand WHY would other doctors (US doctors included) would put their reputation on the line and perform "BAD FUE". For example Dr. Voris performs FUE exclusively. Do you think he's purposely damaging his patients? I've seen COUNTLESS bad FUT results where no matter what the length of hair in the back is, the scar (or just an empty line in between hair) is always visible. I didn't jump into HT myself years ago even though I've met and consulted with many reputable HT doctors. And even thought your remarks about Dr. Hasson says that ONLY MANUAL PUNCH in the right hands can work were right on the money. One thing I'll mention that you said you have had conversations with Dr. Hasson 10 years go. I take this sentence and extrapolate the KEYWORD "10 YEARS AGO", This tells me that Dr. Hasson's view on FUE has changed. I would concede that techs performing the entire operation is a NO NO. And I personally would not go to any clinic that has such business operation. But the results speak 1000 words for me. I would put up my own results in due time for everyone to see and analyze. P.S. I am well aware of RN and PA performing surgical procedures being illegal in US.
  11. HairDew, It is posts like these that confuse the public about FUE. I know you want FUE to work as well if not better than FUT. We ALL do, including me. But such is not the case- not yet- and not ever unless a revolutionary new method of skin incision is invented. Yet nothing significantly new has been invented since the introduction of FUE to North America in 2002. This is demonstrably provable. I think cherry picking postings from websites, like that from Dr. Hasson, is inappropriate and disingenuous. You excluded the majority of websites wherein the doctors make it clear that FUE yields and results are not on par with FUT and include this reality in their surgical consent forms. Dr. Hasson is not an FUE expert. Nor does he claim to be. He is an uber FUT expert, but this does not lend itself to FUE expertise. By his own words he has only been experimenting and studying FUE for just the past few years and is now coming to conclusions I had already made and published over 10 years ago: that the only FUE worth doing is MANUAL FUE. As he continues performing the procedure regularly, as I did, he will find more and more that his FUE results will pale next to his FUT results. In a phone conversation I had with Dr. Hasson about 10 years ago he himself noted how viciously FUE procedures destroyed the donor area and told me in detail how he had been seeing the patients of a particular FUE-only doctor and how destroyed their donor areas were. I'll never forget him using the saying "it causes follicular holocaust." He also used another term to describe the procedure that I will not write here. Nothing from then to now has changed in terms of harvesting from the donor area. HairDew, You put a red box around a particular quote of Dr. Hasson: "I never imaged that FUE grafts, if extracted properly, could look so close to those of strip" I don't know why he said that. There have been great examples of excellent looking grafts offered online since at least 2002. Pay close attention to words he chose to use. He wrote how FUE grafts: "could LOOK so close to those of strip". The problem with FUE has never been that the grafts could or couldn't look like those of strip grafts, but that even when they DO look like strip grafts they simply don't grow as well. And this is due to the extra trauma FUE inflicts on the graft compared to FUT. Just because an FUE graft "looks" good doesn't mean it is. Dr. Hasson knows and understands this. In your red box Dr. Hasson also mentions that he couldn't have predicted that a donor area could look so pristine one week after an FUE. Again, I don't know why he couldn't have predicted this. It is not new, nor is it a secret that tiny punctures of the scalp heal well. Examples have been posted many times online. In fact the majority of FUE "cases" posted online are of the donor area 1 week after surgery- usually to the exclusion of the final growth results. Again, the issue is not how the donor area LOOKS but rather the amount of subdermal damage inflicted along with the pathological remodeling the dermis undergoes in the months following the FUE. After all, all linear FUT scars look awesome one week after the procedure. It is only in the following months that the scars may widen and the skin remodels itself. It is the very FUE damage, scaring, and remodeling that he himself objected to time and time again years ago when performing an FUT to repair and finish such patients. Nothing has changed in the arena of FUE. The same amount of damage is still inflicted on the graft in 2017 as compared to 2001. Naturally, the more experienced and caring the doctor and staff, the better the result will be. The smaller the case, the better the result will be. I do take issue with non-doctors performing the scoring (cutting) part of any surgical procedure. In the United States it is illegal and considered an inappropriate delegation of surgical responsibility. Even an RN and a PA-very highly trained, licensed, and competent medical professionals- cannot perform the scoring (cutting) around the graft as they may not act as the Primary surgeon. They may Assist in the scoring, but it must be the attending surgeon who actually has his hands on the cutting tool. If the primary surgeon leaves the room, then the RN or PA becomes the primary surgeon and that is simply illegal. Recently, a number of FUE doctors left the ISHRS because they were allowing their staff to perform the entirety of the FUE extraction process themselves as the primary surgeons. The ISHRS took the position that this was not a practice the Society should stand behind. I think this was good and juste position on the part of the ISHRS and I stand behind their decision completely - as do the other 1,000 plus members who waved goodbye to these FUE practitioners. Allowing technicians to perform an entire procedure is inexcusable. And, in the United States, absolutely illegal. Unfortunately, many other countries offer their citizens no such protection under law. And there is no shortage of clinics willing to benefit from it. Patients travel to these clinics at their own risk. Despite how disingenuously anonymous online posters try repeatedly to re-frame my position on FUE into a procedure "that doesn't work" ,I have always proclaimed FUE can and does work on occasion and in the right patients. Or else why would I ever perform them? Teach them? Invent patented instrumentation for them? Write on them ? And contribute to the authoritative text on HT? That said, it is painfully obvious to any objective person or practitioner that FUE does not serve the patient as well as FUT in terms of consistent HAIR GROWTH, which is the entire point of getting a hair transplant in the first place. If your goal is to get as many uninjured hair follicles as possible for transplantation while leaving as much hair as possible in the donor area then go with FUT. If not, then go with FUE. Dr. Alan Feller
  12. This patient in his late 20’s from Edmonton wanted a realistic hairline and as much overall coverage as possible. Through our website https://hassonandwong.com/consultations-in-your-city/ he scheduled a visit to Calgary to see Hasson and Wong representative and former Dr. Hasson patient James to discuss his hair loss and possible options. With his good laxity and density, Dr. Hasson and team were able to harvest 7264 grafts via FUT. 2190 singles, 4564 doubles and 510 3-4 hair grafts were used. With his average texture hair and given the large area to cover, good density throughout the front zone and mid scalp was achieved with a decent amount of coverage in the crown. These photos were taken 15 months post-op on his second visit to the clinic where he received an additional 2721 grafts to increase the density of his crown. With the extra crown work, in 6-12 months, the “great” may have to be upgraded:)
  13. Thanks BeHappy I’m glad you brought the parted hair up. It was awhile back when I posted a great result with great density and coverage that someone commented about a “comb over”. I was quite surprised at this but I thought I’d part the hair to show it was dense throughout. While I’ve seen many comb overs or attempts to hide a lack of density, I would say in general the results I’ve seen in my 15 years from doctors Hasson and Wong don’t require such styling. Of course not all results are as dense as others but a certain density is required. So I agree, in some cases the parted hair pic adds another window into the result. I’ll try to present this type of photo when I can and I feel it will bring value. I appreciate the fact you have taken note. I feel we show as revealing and transparent photos as anyone and thankfully the quality of the work can support such detail. I just need to get the rest of the staff on board with this too when it comes to post-op pics  As far as the temple points, I agree it would bring a nice touch. His hair is quite coarse so this decision will need some thoughtful consideration. If he opts for a little increased density in the crown, he can discuss with Dr. Wong some temple work as well if desired.
  14. Yes, that was important for me. I decided for Dr. Feriduni because of his excellent results, especially for the frontal hairline. I had personal consultation in May 2016 in Belgium and the final op than in November 2016. But already in December 2015 I fixed the op date for November 16. After my visit at the doctor and meeting himself I had no doubt for right decision. Of course Dr. Feriduni is more expensive than traveling to a doctor in Tukey but I think the money is worth it. In my opinion he is one of the best doctors like Ron Shapiro and Hasson & Wong The wait time is about one year I hink.
  15. So it's been an incredibly long time since I've posted any pictures of my hair. But to show you that hair transplants really do stand the test of time, I am posting freshly taken pictures (taken today) approximately 8 years after my last hair transplant. I've had a grand total of just over 9600 follicular unit grafts done in 4 sessions over a 5 year period. I went with 3 different doctors. I've listed them below. Procedure 1: Dr. Theodore Katz - 1600 Grafts Procedure 2: Dr. Robert True - 2249 Grafts Procedure 3: Dr. Victor Hasson - 3701 Grafts Procedure 4: Dr. Victor Hasson - 2099 Grafts You can view more detail on my patient website by clicking here. Note that I really didn't brush my hair before I took the pictures but when I do, it usually looks better and even more dense. The back is still quite thin and I sometimes consider going for another procedure to thicken things up. But since it really doesn't bother me, I've put it off for some time. It's debatable whether or not I'll get another one. But if I do, I'll probably go the FUE route because I don't want to risk stretching the scar after 4 procedures via strip already. Feel free to share your opinions below. Best wishes, Bill
  16. Congrats on your surgery. You have chosen one of the best hair restoration surgeons in the world, I have sat in the chair with also Dr. Hasson and Dr. Bisanga as well so I can say that with emphatic confidence. Take care of and protect the grafts until the critical post-op day 10, if you have any questions or concerns check in with Dr. K and we're also here to help out. happy growing
  17. *I am currently one year out from having surgery with Dr. Konior of Oakbrook Illinois. My laptop crashed so bear with me on this post as I will be pulling pics from my phone and adding them as we go. Brief Background: 53 years old, very fine blonde hair. I had 2 strip surgeries back in the bad old days of hair transplantation in the 90's. These two failed procedures left me with a horrible moth eaten look on top, pitting, and two stacked strip scars in the back. I consider those two surgeries to be the worst two life decisions I've made. My Pros and Cons going into the procedure: Pros: Blonde hair which minimizes the scalp/skin contrast. Realistic expectations, I realized that I will never have a full head of hair/hairline. I just wanted to get back to a normal looking appearance where I didn't feel that people I would meet would have their gaze shift up to my hairline. Cons: Badly depleted donor area, very fine textured hair. My decision to choose Dr. Konior was literally years in the making, as I was determined not to make a bad decision again, and I am really grateful that this forum existed or I would never have found out about him. I had been following his career/cases for a number of years and was always impressed by the precision of his work, and his ownership of his practice/procedures. He is a boss without a doubt. Other surgeons I was considering were Dr. Ron Shapiro, Dr. Lorenzo, Dr. Hasson, and Dr. Feriduni. I realized that I had one of the best surgeons in the world in my backyard (I'm in Chicago) so the choice was made. After consulting with Dr. Konior it was decided that FUE would be the safest and most practical way to attempt a repair. My scalp laxity was tight and the thought of doing another strip and the scar stretching was just too much of a risk. I'd like to thank Dr. Konior for being so gracious with his time and correspondence leading up to my procedure, he always answered my e-mails and phone calls right away and is clearly engaged and accessible to his patients. The procedure was basically finished on the first day but I came back the next morning for some fine tuning and to have the beard hair grafts done. Dr. Konior wanted to get more beard hairs into my scars but I was just squirming around in the chair too much for some reason, so we stopped at 150. I might go back for more at a later date. I was driven to and from the hotel, things went very smoothly. I arrived the night before the procedure was to be done and got shaved at the office and Dr. Konior drew in the hairline so we could hit the ground running the next day. Pics to follow...
  18. I already explained this on page 1, and has been confirmed via email correspondence with Dr. Hasson, by speaking with other patients, and my own personal experience as a multiple HT veteran. The thing with HTs is that they only really fully mature - in both a positive and negative sense - somewhere between the 18-month and two year mark. From the first 6 months to one year for example, you will have a majority of the new hairs all in the anagen growth phase at the same time so at the one year mark you typically get the Wow! type of explosive change in cosmetic appearance. After that the normal hair cycles balance out and it may appear that the results have lost some steam, but what is actually happening is that your own native hair growth cycles are returning in respect to the new transplants. There is nothing strange, mysterious or nefarious going on, HT's require some maintenance especially after your native hair cycles balance out 18 months post-op, and as we continue to lose hair from the aging process and or lose responsiveness to Fin etc. Touchups are the way to rectify this.
  19. This Vancouver area patient in his 20’s was receding in his hairline. He recalled always having a somewhat higher hairline as did most of the males in his family. He had good donor hair and the potential for extreme hair loss was determined to be very low. 3031 grafts via FUT were used to lower the hairline and blend into the existing frontal zone. The 3031 grafts consisted of 716 singles, 2044 doubles and 271 3-4 hair grafts. We don’t have any photos with the proposed hairline drawn in so I’ve highlighted a mole with a red circle in one set of pics for reference. The hairline was brought down quite a bit which may be more apparent in that set. The scar healed very well and he is able to go quite short in the back and sides. These photos were taken 8 months post-op.
  20. I think 500 grafts was a conservative estimate, but that's also considering the slight gap on my left side as well (if I try to part my hair it's more noticeable....but not by much). Extractions were done by Dr. Hasson's two technicians, who both did a fantastic job (my transection rate was extremely low). Density was around the 55-60 FU/cm2, but my hair is very thick. There's funny story about how H&W purchased an ARTAS machine to test out, but all it's good for is collecting dust. They prefer manual punch instead.
  21. At the very least have an in person consult with Dr. Lindsey to evaluate your hairless situation. Not many of us have a recommended surgeon within close proximity. Hasson is on my list of top 3 worldwide FUT surgeons, as the consumer you have the right to make the final decision of your choice.
  22. For purely aesthetic value my top 3 would be: 1. Dr. Rahal 2. Dr. Hasson 3. Dr. Diep
  23. Look into the FUE masters ASMED (Dr. Erdogan) or Dr. Keser in Turkey since you're closer to that area and are more affordable slightly, also you might want to research meds such as Propecia - including possible side effects too ! - for maintaining after the HT. Also FUT might be better in your case as you have advanced hair loss extending back into the vertex, so Dr. Hasson, Rahal and Konior could ones to research for FUT. good luck Edit: You are really missing two crucial steps here: (1) have you decided on FUT vs FUE? and (2) have you researched hair loss meds including Finasteride and Minoxidil (including potential for side effects) ? Until you have done those two you should not proceed with the doctor selection/pricing phase.
  24. Subjective question you'll have to answer for yourself, many doctors do great hair line work, some more conservatively than others. Consistent work can be found by Dr. Gabel, Konior, Feller, Rahal, Hasson and Wong, Cooley and more in North America. I recommend you start with that list and narrow down your preferences, no harm in consulting with them all and comparing.
  25. Vancouver area patient in his mid 20’s. Dr. Hasson and his team placed 2593 grafts extracted via FUE to lower his hairline and rebuild part of his frontal zone. 456 were single hair grafts, 1710 were doubles and 427 were 3-4 hair grafts. The size punch used for the extraction was 8.5 mm. These photos were taken only a week shy of 5 months post-op with more growth to come. He will be back in the clinic over the coming months to show his progress and final result. I will be updating our website with his timeline soon showing his progression from day one until now and beyond.
