  1. Hi I actually created a thread here earlier in other section, but I guess it gets ignored because of the odd title name. People keep sending me private messages, so I decided to make one thread here, with proper title, and pics right from pre-op, post-op, and then as per progress. I'm 27, and Norwood 5a, moving to Norwood 6, so it is understandable that I'll need more than one session, and around 4000 grafts, maybe more if possible. But to start, 4000 is the target. In the first session, I was looking for 2500-3000 grafts where Dr would give me a new hairline, starting with dense front, and going backwards with average density, till we run out of grafts. First session results. 1 hair - 917 2 hair - 1476 3 hair - 100 Total - 2493 grafts or 4169 hair. I'll see the results after a year, and then decide if it needs tweaking or improvements. If not, I can concentrate only on the crown area for the second session. The doctor has told me I can expect around 1500 grafts for the second session. She advised me to have laxity exercises, if I want to increase the chances for even more grafts. We'll see.
  2. Hi all, I'll like to share my hairloss experience. I'm Australian of Asian heritage. I'm 34 year old now. I've first notice my hairloss when I was 21 but it didnt become an issue til I was 25. At 27 it become a major issue, my own fault I think because I was heavily using workout and body building supplements which boosted my testosterone levels. After realising this was happening, I ceased all workout supplements (LESSON for for everyone). I first took finasteride when I was 28 for about a year, I had heavy shedding which I blamed on finasteride and therefore ceased taking fin. After I stopped, it appeared to me that my hair started to grow back but unfortunately it gradually fell out over the next2-3 years and I was worse off at that point than I was when I was 28. At this point I was 32-33. For no particular reason, most probably a mixture of desperation and hope, I re-commenced finasteride in late 2012/early 2013 and have stayed on it despite have some wretched weeks/months where I had massive amounts of shedding. My previous attempt this was the point I gave up on finasteride. So people, stick with it, fin worked for me at 9-12months. I started using 15% minoxidil around June 2013 which made shedding even worse. After 6 months, the shedding has eased up. I now have a lot of fine fuzz as well as thick hair. I am happy with the results from Finasteride but it was shocking between the 3-6 month period. Then to add 15% monoxidil at the 6 month mark, I had massive shedding again. 6 month later it eased and my hair has come back. I think I'm at about 13-15 months now since taking finasteride. BUT despite the good regowth results, I realise it's not permanent. I have lost 50% destiny and my hairline on the front left area. I don't intend to be taking fin and minox forever. That is where HT comes in, it will provide permanent results After some research, I come across www.hairrestorationnetwork.com. I contacted Dr. Radha via email and over a period of 6-9 months I felt confident to book an FUE HT with her. Initially I was going to opt for FUT, but what happens when I'm in 50/60/70? We naturally loose hair as we get older and it's not related to male pattern baldness. It doesnt matter when I'm in my late 50/60s if I loose my hair density and hairline. But it does matter that I have a FUT scar I can no longer conceal. Therefore the only procedure that best suits my needs is FUE. Well thats all from me for now. Feel free to comment on my post and ask me any questions about my experience with 15% monoxidil and finasteride. I have attached a photos of my hair from about 3 months, 9 months and current. Regards Logan
  3. Hi All, After going through the recommendations in the forum I've decided to go for my FUT procedure with Dr. Radha. It is scheduled for 23rd July. Will update the thread post surgery.
  4. Hello dear group members, Wish this new year brings smile on your faces by miraculously filling your scalp with all the hair you had 10-15 years back! Or at least that's what I would like to have this year So after much deliberation and researching through this site, I decided to go for HT. My heartfelt thanks to Bill and admins of this website who have done wonderful job of providing a platform to share experiences and to the forum members who are actually sharing their experiences. This helped me decide to go for HT. A bit about myself- I am about 32 years , Male , Indian living in Australia. My hairfall started about 10-12 years back and worsened over years. I went through the usual phase of denial- growing long hair- trying quick medications- loss of confidence- until one fine day I woke up and decided to do something about it. After researching a lot I decided to go with Dr. Radha. Prior to that I had sent email queries to some of the doctors listed here in APAC region. I had sent my photographs as well. All of them confirmed that I am a candidate for HT and would require around 3000 grafts to cover my balding area. I decided to go with Dr Radha for reasons below - 1. I read about experience of her patients which looked largely positive 2. The photographs looked very promising 3.The fact that she does all surgeries herself and is present throughout the session ( just one surgery per day) 4. Very patient with all my queries through emails and phone calls 5. Honest answers and no false promises 6. Cost Because of reason # 3 I was not able to finalize my surgery date with her. She has just one slot per day. I was disappointed when she said I had to book atleast a month in advance. (By that time I had already booked my India trip for 3 weeks. Reason- expensive flight tickets so as soon as I spotted a deal I went for it) She wished me good luck and asked me to confirm well in advance before flying down next time. However, just a week before my departure I got a call from clinic. A patient from Jordon had pushed his surgery date back and suddenly there was a slot open. I went for it. Actual Experience- Day-1 I flew to Vizag a day earlier to meet the doctor in person. As someone mentioned in one of the posts earlier, the clicnic is in a small city called Vizag and the building doesn't look like hospital at all from outside. You could easily miss the building. Its a commercial building that definitely needs a fresh paint and some repairs at the exterior. I must admit I got bit hesitant there. However, my perception soon changed after I met her in person. She was very calm, answered all my questions, discussed options with me and gave me realistic view of what might happen. The staff was extremely helpful. They booked me into a nearby hotel, negotiated rates for me, helped me find transport and provided all general information. I was asked to come by 8.30 on the morning next day for surgery. Day 0 I arrived at 8.30 after having a light breakfast (no coffee/ tea). They had my blood tested. I was given a glass of juice before starting. The doctor again drew harline and after confirmation started the surgery. Local anesthesia was given ( I suppose couple of injections at the back) and the strip was removed. The doctor had told me that my density and hair quality is average and also that laxity is really not great (was very disappointed to hear that. I always thought I had great hair at the back. But I guess I have to live with this harsh reality! ). She said she would try to extract 3000 grafts and anything above that would be a bonus. She extracted a strip of abt 26-27 cm. There was a team of about 8 people who had started working under microscope to separate the grafts. More disappointing news was in store for me. Halfway through this dissection process the doctor told me that I have more single hair roots than double per graft. Generally around 70% of grafts have double roots , 15-20% have single roots and remaining are 3 or more than that. At one point of time she admitted that this was not looking very promising and was worried that this might not be giving expected final result. As it turned out, the final count of grafts was around 3950 of which around 50% were single, 48% double. She told me that she could work with this as more grafts could be extracted. She said other option that she was considering was to fill frontal region with as much density as possible and then if grafts remain then put those in crown area. Since we could get more grafts, she said she would be using single grafts to fill temple and frontal region and double grafts would be planted in crown area. I have had my lunch in the meanwhile and was ready for next session. The actaul transplant was not much of a trouble. Again couple of injections in the scalp and by 6 PM I was on my way back to hotel. Through out the session the doctor was talking to me and explaining what she was doing and why was she doing it. I was given pain killers and antibiotics, a head band to wear for next 3 days. The night was very rough. Despite taking pain killers I could not sleep. I was having splitting headache and felt like my head was on fire. Day+1 I went to the clinic in the morning for post op check up. The doctor said things look fine. I was given a hair wash and was asked to use baby shampoo for next 15 days ( wash twice daily, very gentle patting on recipient area). No other medicines were prescribed. I asked if I could use Minoxidil and Finastride and she said yes. However, she asked me to start using after a month. The pain had subsided considerably by then. I left the city on the same day. She wrote me a reference letter for suture removal. ( Was scheduled to fly back in next couple of days). Day +9 As I type this out, I am back in Australia, got my sutures removed here. The doc who removed it told me the work looks definitely better than previous HT patients who had come to him to remove sutures. Greyish white crusts are now forming at the hair roots at the recipient area. The doctor has told me to put olive oil overnight after 10 days. The scar is visible ( I had my head shaved) and I look like Frankenstein. So I am moving around with a headband. Trying times in summer! I will soon be uploading some pictures. I can not upload now since my broadband connection is not active yet and I am using my phone to connect to internet. Needless to say, Telstra is ripping me off for every extra MB that I use. All in all , I am very happy with Dr. Radha's work and her commitment. I believe she has done her best and now I hope for the best for me. Waiting game starts..
  5. Dear Fellow members, I am from India and planning to get my HT done this year. Request you to kindly answer my queries as that would help me to come to a decision. Based on my research I found Dr. Rahal as one of the best HT surgeon in the world and Dr. Radha the best in India. I am finding it difficult about whom to go with. Both the Docs analyzed my scalp and suggested me to go for 2000 grafts apprx. + HT with DR. Rahal would cost me around 10000 USD (travel cost to Canada has not been included) + HT with Dr. Radha would be around 2000 USD. I am really confused at this point as I want to get my HT done by Dr. Rahal but the cost is overwhelmingly high when compared with DR. Radha. Is it recommended to go with Dr. Radha first and see how it goes and if does not I can get my second HT done by Dr. Rahal. Please advice. Also please let me know if there is anyone from India who got their HT done by DR. Rahal.
  6. Hi guys, I am new to the forum here, have read many post and reviews, it's a great community. I have scheduled surgery with Dr. Radha for early August. I live in the US and so will be flying there, and I'm not exactly sure whether to fly into Visakhapatnam or fly into Mumbai and take a car to Visakhapatnam. She has a lady on her website that helps to arrange everything, but I think she may be taking awhile to get back to me. If any of you guys have been to India or seen Dr. Radha I would appreciate your insight. Thanks in advance.
  7. I've seen many good results with doctor Radha and her FUT work, but I have only seen a couple of FUE examples for her. The first post I saw of her doing a FUE was sometime in 2011 or something so she does have at least a few years of experience with it. I'm considering getting FUE done by Dr. Radha, but I'm not sure. I was considering Dr, Bhatti but I think his hairlines are a little unnatural looking. Her artistic skill would be similar, just the handling of the graphs and their survival is questionable. I was also considering Dr. Dermisoy for FUE as I have seen several posts of positive experiences with him. Any other docs in India you would recommend?
  8. I am trying to decide between Dr. Pong in Thailand and Dr. Radha in India for my second HT procedure. I had a bad first procedure with Dr. Epstein in Miami a couple years ago (more on that later). Any recommendations regarding these two choices? Thanks!
  9. Folks, first of all I want to thank each and every single member for posting their experience with different docs and how their HT journey have nourished for them. Approximately less than a year ago, I thought of getting HT and had created a thread for feedback http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/176291-considering-hair-transplant-finally.html I was told that my donor area looks weak and not to proceed. I emailed a few docs and got the similar response. But Dr. Radha had claimed that this should not be considered as a disappointment and there would be requirement of multiple sessions. I did a bit of research on her and saw great results for patients ranging from 2000-6000 grafts for work she has done. For my coverage she had advised I needed 5000 grafts, and with the pics I've sent her she was anticipating 3000 grafts. Flash forward, about more than 35+ emails and a few phone calls within past 6 month I finally set the date for July 16th and flew in from Saudi Arabia (that's where I'm based). I stayed at Novotel and reached evening of 15th. I was impressed with Vizag at the beginning but later found to boring. Anyways, I reached the clinic at 8:45 morning after having a breakfast at the hotel. BP taken by nurse, along with some blood sample for HIV, Hep B, Hep C tests, followed by hair wash with antiseptic shampoo by the nurse. Dr. Radha arrived at 9:30 and we had a very long discussion of expectation, hair loss treatment, etc etc, typical doc patient stuff. She drew my expected hair line and took some pics, she said due being Norwood 6 I would require 3 sittings to get a full coverage. Walked into the ops room at around 11 where the first part is the strip removal, typically according to the doc it should take 2 hours but in my case it took her 3 hours due to my hair being curly. Lunch break I requested subway, being half indian I cannot eat indian food that well, it's unsettling, specially during surgery. Back in the ops room at 2:30 where the needles were poked and incisions begun, all this took place till 8PM, took a few washroom breaks in between. Nurse was kind enough to show me how the follicles are extracted etc etc. Now the best par was at 75 % of surgery Dr. Radha mentioned that she grafted 3200 so far and she is still expecting more numbers, my anesthesia was wearing down with happiness. At the end of the surgery total number of grafts was 4345. 1 hair - 1350 2 hair - 2795 3 hair - 200 Total hair - 7540 This was really great news to me and she had actually crossed the area where she had drawn on the head, later on she mentioned to me that I don't need 3 but only 1 more surgery to cover the rest of the head. All in all, I'm glad I made the move and went with Dr. Radha, she took utmost care along with her team of nurses. She didn't show any sign of impatience or annoyance. She was very accommodating and comforting. I've attached the pics, and welcome for feedback. I went today to a Derma here in Saudi to get the sutures removed and he pissed me off saying I got to wait 2 more days as there I inflammation around the scar. To be honest it looks fine to me but anyhoo. Pics 1-3 10 days before surgery Pic 4,5 - stiches with hair and shaved Pic 6-7 7 days post op Pic 8 Now, been following the instructions as advised, wash twice daily until 15 days, followed by coconut oil overnight to wash off the scabs next day. So what do you guys think ?
  10. I recently started researching recommended physicians on the network to carry out a hair transplant operation. I decided on Dr. Radha and have booked in with her for January but being from Australia I was surprised and disappointed not to see any Australian physicians recommended.. Is Australia behind the 8 ball or has the network not looked into any Australian physicians? Surely there must be at least one physician in the whole country that meets the criteria. Or not? I doubt I would end up selecting an Australian clinic anyway give the extreme prices over here of $6 - $14 per graft. Tom
  11. Folks, apologize for the delay as my job keeps me up in the air compared to being on the ground. I'm now 12 months post op and would like to thank once again the Hair Restoration Network community for all the support, guidance, feedback, dealing with my questions, suggestions and what not. Without your help this wouldn't have been possible at all for me and the confidence level that I've gained in my work and social life gives me a great feeling all the time. I feel that I may have damaged some of the grafts around the crown area or I could be wrong looking at the transplant pics, but overall I'm extremely happy. Dr. Radha had asked me what i'm expecting and that's what she delivered. I'm psyched to go for a second HT but not sure if should be FUT or FUE, i'm leaning towards going back to her next year to get the crown filled. Attached are the pics....
  12. Dr. Radha has never been the best at communication but it appears that it's gotten worse. It's a shame because by and large, her results are good. My results were stella, 2 years on I'm rocking it without concealer. I only emailed Radha 2-3 times then booked my procedure, it is wasn't an issue for me. I did find her communication slow and even absent at times to which I needed to email her a 2nd time to get a response. This could be a big problem for potential clients who want ask her questions and get reassurances before they book a procedure.
  13. wix, Aside from Dr. Radha, we recommend the following hair transplant surgeons in India that perform strip surgery. Dr. Kapil Dua Dr. Pathuri Madhu Dr. Suneet Soni
  14. Thanks for your replies.... I'm OK with the FUT procedure as i was happy with it for my first treatment and FUE is more expensive and out of my price range. If i could save for the future and choose a different option i wouldn't be posting this message now; this is my situation and price range; up to $1.5/graft and so probably looking at India, Malaysia or similar. I'd found Dr Radha who's got plenty of recommendations and seemed perfect but she seems to be off the map right now so 1. she's no longer an option and 2. finding good quality in my price range is plausible. Thanks for the tip on Eugenix and that post. I've contacted Eugenix for some information and replied to that post to ask some questions too. Thanks for the interactive map tool tip too, i found a Dr. Soni through it in Delhi so researching him now too...
  15. hello all its my 5th month post HT since from 4th month i noticed daily after bath i can find minimum 30 new hairs coming out from the transplanted area and now i feel thinning of my hair, i had sent many email to Dr.radha she even didnt bother or not senting any reply after the surgery please guide me what shoukd i do
  16. Hello Everyone, Though its been over two months after my first HT with Dr.Radha, I was unable to post my experience due to various personal reasons. But now I would like to share my expereince of my First HT with Dr. Radha on Aug 21st 2013. I would like to immensely thank this forum and all your expereinces that led to confidently take the option of HT. Its really a wonderful job and the I thank the people hosting this. Thank You All ! Before talking about the experience a brief about me, I am...., Male, 34 Years of age Losing hair for more than 10 years now Been considering HT as an option for over a year. Have posted some pictures of my pre-HT here My HT Overview : HT with Radha on 21st Aug 2013 # of Grafts 3400 My HT Experience : Initially when I was thinking about HT as an option, I was looking at Dr.Madhu. But later after reading many positives about Dr.Radha, I started inclining more towards Dr.Radha but never took any concrete decision on the HT plan. One fine day decided to post few information in their website. There was no reply for a week. And then one day had a reply from Dr.Radha asking for more information. And from then on had 4 to 5 emails communicated between us. I got more confidence seeing the time she took to reply personally. Once I called her to check and confirm the dates she had provided. She did confirm the date on 21 Aug and requested to pay 10,000 INR but was not insisting too much on the payment. I did deposit the amount and informed her. I had 1 month time to plan for other aspects like tickets and lodging. I found some good deals for my flight and boarding and did confirm the same. When it was a week before the surgery date I called her up and confirmed if everything is good to go. Then on 20th morning went to Vizag and it was pretty easy to locate the hotel. I called her up in the morning about my arrival and she gave an appointment in the evening. I went to her clinic in the evening and the rest was all very good experience. The things I liked during the consultation discussion: The support staff were friendly and helpful Dr. Radha was amazing in terms of the care she took to explain me the whole procedure. Particularly I liked the way she set the expectations. I was having a decent expectation and after the discussion she lowered my expectation and asked me to be more realistic. This in a way was good for me. The other important aspect was that she never talked about the money while we discussed the previous evening. It was me who initiated it. This shows that she is not money minded at all. She was particularly focused on the surgery to come up well. Then after 1 hours of spending time in the clinic I returned to hotel with great peace of mind in choosing the right surgeon.
  17. Dear all, I had my HT done with Dr. Radha in December'13. I will be posting my pics soon. Please visit my blog at Hair Restoration Social Network - Hair Loss Patient Blogs for a detailed account of my experience. A question- After 3 weeks, I have been experiencing a slight discomfort in my donor area. My scalp feels a bit stretched at times and I have noticed tiny blood stains on my pillow. It is one of the stitches probably. Has any of you experienced it? I will be calling up doctor and will ask her. This is making me bit nervous.
  18. I joined this network a couple of months ago and I felt I received insights and guidance from the forum that I otherwise never could have received. Thank you to the publisher of the site and to the many contributors. Last week I had about 2200 graphs with Dr. Radha, one of the two surgeons recommended in India. Of course it is way to early to assess the success of the surgery itself, but I can share that the experience with Dr. Radha and her staff was wonderful. I'm from the U.S., so I can tell you that India can be rather jolting to the senses. But Dr. Radha and her staff were as professional and perhaps even more so than any surgeon one might hope to meet anywhere. She explained everything she was doing, she was kind and attentive, and certainly seemed have great skills and expertise. She was with me throughout the day. The procedure seemed to go well. It was a bit painful that first night, but that has gotten better every night since. Others in this forum have done a much better job of sharing the details of their experience with Dr. Radha. I just wanted to add that my experience last week was 100% positive.
  19. Hello Everyone, Though its been over two months after my first HT with Dr.Radha, I was unable to post my experience due to some hectic commitments. But now I would like to share my experience of my First HT with Dr. I was having high expectation and after the discussion she lowered my expectation and asked me to be more realistic. This in a way was good for me. The other important aspect was that she never talked about the money while we discussed the previous evening. It was me who initiated it. That showed that she was not money minded at all. She was particularly focused on the surgery to come up well. She asked me how much Im considering in terms of the number of grafts. I said around 2500 and wanted to do another procedure later if all went well. She agreed to this and we were done with the discussions. Then after 1 hour of spending time in the clinic I returned to hotel with great peace of mind in choosing the right surgeon. The next day Morning - Surgery Day Went to the clinic before 8 in the morning. The support staff reached shortly and then the process started. They were all calm and cool all the way and that made me less nervous and I started to be as normal as usual. First there was a blood test taken and a few tablets to swallow which I did and then I was asked to wear the dress offered. Shortly Dr.Radha came in and we started to discuss about the expectations. Earlier the previous evening I had asked her to get it to 2500 grafts count and we set the same. She also told me that 100 odd grafts may be more or less on top of the 2500 and not to worry on that. Then the lines were marked and I wanted her to focus on the frontal portion and make it dense and not to touch the mid scalp. So everything was set and the process started. She explained me that the first part was to extract the strip. And then she informed me that I was going to be administered some anesthesia and can expect some mild pain. One by one few shots were given and and before each shot she told me 'the next one'. I didnt feel any pain but again she said it all depends on how the patient feels about it and I tolerated it very well. Once this was done the strip extraction was done and overall it took 45 minutes if I remember correctly. I was lying on my chest all along. Then they offered me time for a break and by then I came back from the rest room the extraction was going on and one of the staff explained me how its done. Back again lying on my chest the next process of making slots for the insertions were made. This took almost an hour and again once this was done I was eager to know the count they had extracted. I asked whats the number? Now the most happy moment came and she replied you will be very happy with the numbers.., its 3400 .., I was suddenly thrilled to hear that and was very happy because she was not too confident about the density of my donor when the assessment was made and had asked me not to have very high expectations. So I was thinking myself that 2500 would itself be a very good number. So with lots of happiness I went through the rest of the procedure which all came to an end by around 4 in the evening. Meanwhile I enjoyed a nice meal they offered. In the evening Dr.Radha spoke to me about the post operative instructions and other aspects. I was asked to come the next morning. I went to the hotel and was feeling not so bad but again some kind of uneasiness which definitely will be after a surgery. I was not too comfortable sleeping with some mild pain and only slept in the midnight. The next morning again went to Dr. Radha for the head wash and everything was normal and the staff who washed said I didnt bleed much as usual and showed me the strap and I found few blood strains. Once everything was over I was very happy to say good bye to all the staff and thanked Dr.Radha for the care she took and ofcourse the suture removal instructions was explained to me. I went back to the hotel with lots of peace and happiness and choosing the right surgeon. Now what was all going good suddenly would have been spoiled by one incident. When I came back to my hotel and had lunch I started to lye down the bed after taking the medications with the TV on. Since my flight was at 7:15 evening I was very leisure since it was only 2 in the noon. I suddenly woke from the bed to see the time was 6:00 sharp and panicked that I would lose my flight. Within the next 5 mts packed everything hurriedly and checked out the room and asked the hotel guys what the best chance of reaching the airport and their answer let me down because they said its only 50 mts for me to reach the airport. But anyway I wanted to give a try and luckily an auto guy who took me to the hospital came and promised that he will help. It was a very tense 40 mts and to my relief he reached by 6:50 and I gave him some additional bucks and ran as fast as I could. And at the end i made it and returned home. So there was some twist to my tale which I managed somehow. THe reason wanted to share this is because I slept without knowing anything and would have definitely missed the flight. maybe its also because of the reason I dint sleep well the previous night so be a little careful when you plan. But otherwise as I said it was all wonderful experience I had and now..., EAGERLY WAITING FOR THE PROGRESS TO BE GOOD!!! THANK YOU ALL WHO HELPED ME SHARING THEIR EXPERIENCE IN THIS FORUM !!! BYE
  20. Hello, I am a newbie to this forum and this is my my first post. First of all I would like to thank this forum and all the members for providing such a wonderful platform to people who are facing problems with hair loss. With out you all, it would have been very difficult to find a good surgon like Dr. Radha. I am 42 year old male from IL, USA. I had a HT procedure done on Dec 19th by Dr. Radha Palakurthi(Visakhapatnam, India). Here is my experience. After following this forum for quite sometime, I decided to go with Dr. Radha. I sent an email to her in the third week of November for an appointment. It took few days to receive a reply from her and I was little concerned as I was planning to go to India in the third week of Dec. After 3-4 days I received an email from Dr. Radha asking for more details and she mentioned that she could not reply back earlier as she was traveling. I requested her to give an appointment around 20th of Dec as I was going to stay in India only for 2 weeks. She replied saying back it was difficult to accomodate my request with such a short notice and also due to her prior appointments. I called her office and explained my situation and they immediately gave her cell No. Her front office staff (Ms.Prasanna is a very helpul and courteous person). I called up Dr. Radha and explained my situation and requested her for an appointment. She promised me that she will go through her dairy and will try her best to give me an appointment. As promised she wrote back to me saying that she will be able to see me on Dec 19th 2013. She sent me some instructions regarding what to do before the surgery. After reaching India I sent an email and I was told to see her on Dec 18th evening for the initial consultation. I went to her clinic at around 3:30 pm and was taken to a consultation room. After a few minutes Dr. Radha came in and we had a brief chat about the procedure. She is very warm person, makes you very comfortable and explains you the total process. She had a look at my hair line and said I should not expect more than 3000 grafts based on the thickness of hair and flexibilty of my skin. I was asked to come back the next day morning at 8:30 am. Went back to the hotel( Hotel Taj Gateway; very nice hotel) and slept early. Next morning around 8:00 am I went back to the clinic and the friendly staff took me to the consultation room. Shortly afterwards the nurse(Ms. Shashi, a very nice and friendly person) came in took some blood samples. After that another nurse (Ms.Ujjwala' again a very helpful person) took me to another room and handed over sterile clothes to change. At around 8:30 am Dr. Radha came in and spoke to me for few minutes. She was always having a smile on her face and makes you very comfortable. You feel as if you are taking to a friend. She then took some photos & measurements. She then determined that the total area she would be covering would be around 123 sq cms. She said she will start from the front with more density and as it goes back the density of coverage will be little less based on the No of grafts she would be able to extract. I was then taken to the operation room( Very nice set up) and was given some anxiety pills and local anaestetia. As she does each step she will clearly explain what she is doing. Dr. Radha then cut a strip from the back of my head. The whole process of extracting the strip and stiching the skin took few hours and around 12:30 I was given a lunch break for 30-45 min. Most of the time I had a good sleep and did not have much pain or discomfort. Before I went tout of the operation theatre they asked me if I would like to see how the technicains are seggregating the grafts from the strip which was taken from the back fo my head. I went and they showed me how the technicians were working on the hair follicules.Post lunch session Dr. Radha started planting the folicules that were taken out from my hair strip. I was again given some anxiety pills and local anaestetia and I soon slipped into sleep.( I heard some people dont get sleep due to anxiety or due to discomfort). Anyways I woke up in between a couple of times and Dr. Radha told me everything was going well. Finally around 6:30 pm Dr. radha woke me up and said the procedure was done and everything went very well. I was very relieved and felt happy. I was taken to a room and was asked to chage back to my clothes. After changing back, the nurse took me to the initial consultation room, and was met by Dr. Radha with a warm smile. She told me that she was able to extract 3845 grafts(WOW!!! More than what I expected). ((Total 3845 grafts- Single hair: 966; Doubles: 2739; Three hair: 140;)) She again spent sometime giving instructions and asked me to come the next day morning for cleaning and dressing. As far as I remember, Dr. Radha was by my side during the total procedure performing most part of the surgery along with her assistants. This gave me more confidence and comfort see her doing the stuff herself. I thanked all the assisatnts and technicains who were a part of the surgery and took leave from them. HERE IS THE BEST PART....Before I left, I asked Dr. Radha about the payment(Believe me till this point she never talked about the money part). She smiled and told me that we can discuss this the next day when I go for dressing. When I insisted that I want pay it immediately then she generously rounded of the figure and I paid her the amount. This clearly shows her character, professionalism and her down to earth nature. Next day I went in, got the cleaning done and had a quick chart with Dr. Radha and happily headed back to the airport. After 5 days I was asked to go to another doctor who was a friend of Dr. Radha to get the sutures removed. Since I did not have enough time and could not stay back in Visakhapatnam for the next 5 days, Dr. Radha referred me to another doctor in the city I was going to stay. Overall I had a very pleasant and GREAT experience and with out any hesitation I would recommend Dr. Radha to every one looking for a HT surgery. Last but not the least, Dr. Radha had a very friendly and professional support staff. The clinic itself is very good and well equipped. I will post my photos shortly. Once again thanks to this forum all the members who have contributed to this forum. Good Luck guys and hope this post helps.
  21. After reading positive reviews about Dr. Radha Rani on this forum, I finally decided to contact her and get my HT done through here. Through this thread I will maintain a log of all my HT. I am 29 years and from India. I have tried different types of medication through the last 5-6 years but nothing has been working. October 2012 I first emailed Dr. Radha Rani and sent my photographs to her and waited for her reply. The photographs that I sent to her can be seen below. She replied by saying that I needed approximately 2000-2500 grafts in the forehead and around 1000 grafts in the crown area. She quoted her charges as 50/- per graft even for an Indian National like me. And she also said she would do a FUT for me. Another important thing that she confirmed was that she does only 1 surgery per day and she would be present throughout the surgery for around 8 hours. She also said on email that she can offer 300 grafts for free when I asked for any deals for 2 or more members willing to go for a HT. November 2012 I decided to visit her clinic before getting the HT done just for my satisfaction and hence me and a friend who was also interested in a consultation visited Visakhapatnam. I personally did not like the look and feel of the surroundings of her clinic and it wasn't like any traditional hospital. It is located in a commercial building and felt a bit shady. Me and friend finally met Dr. Radha Rani in person and she provided a brief consultation for us and confirmed again that I would require 2000 grafts or so in the front and 1000 in the crown area. She also mentioned that I might have to come back for a HT in the future. February 2013 I finally have fixed my HT with her for 21/Feb/2013 and will post my current pictures in my next post. All these days I have not been taking any medication except for applying fresh home made Hibiscus extract on my scalp 2-3 times a week. I would like members here to advice about anything that I should keep in mind and be wary of. I am hoping to see good results if not anything spectacular. Also if any member who is getting his HT done around the same time wants to get in touch, please PM me.
