  1. Dr. Beehner, I admire your confidence and will to take on challenging cases. Clearly, it is not the norm of some doctors showcasing work online who tend to take mostly virgin scalps and show to the world the so called their own realistic dense marketed expectations. Based on some folks I know, some docs will send patients to other docs to do repairs because they can’t fix damage or want to get rid of a patient they may have did something causing a patient great harm thus possibly ruining a life. This is where a patient may not know the magnitude of the damage caused. Cobblestoning and ridging are uncommon no doubt, but some folks who go with some “top” docs apparently still face this. This can happen when surgery is possibly not ethically performed and with a poor surgical protocol and etc. I see how you were able to blend the damaged portion with placement of grafts to cameoflage the damage. Now the one thing some professionals mentioned to me was that resection/removal of such tissue is an option given to such patients. Some folks said grafting in and around heavily impacted scar tissue may hinder graft growth. From this result, it looks like you were able to attain graft growth and survival in and around the scar tissue. Thank you for sharing this. You definitely saved this patient from embarrassment. Embarrassment, ridicule, and comments by folks in person is not easy to swallow, it is quite painful. So painful, that you can question the damage daily and question life. I hope when a person becomes a doctor, they understand ethics actually are there for their patient, tell the truth, and are always honest. Being a doctor is a profession not a game. By your willingness to help fix and do repairs as well, clearly you understand your profession well. I do not think I deserve at all what I am facing one bit. As a war Veteran and Marine, I always wanted to be stress free and actually have my life back. It is doctors like you, that are treating and helping repair patients that give some hope to folks that there may be different ways out of a difficult situation a person is in. Thanks for sharing and showing that may be there are different ways to tackle repairs and see what different options could be. I really appreciate it. Thank You.
  2. No doubt this is impressive a d challenging repair. Great job! Dr. Beehner, have you worked on any patient that had ridging and cobblestoning where a removal of the tissue was necessary? This is primarily due to tissue damage from excess trauma during dense packing. Primarily in the hairline area? Just wondering and trying to get an idea how successful such a surgery would be and will the scar heal well. If you have any cases like that, it would be great to see. Thanks for repairing this patient. It was a challenging case and very few docs take on challenges as they try to show “showcase” results with virgin scalps more and more. I really applaud you taking on such a case and helping this person.
  3. Thank you so much for your answer Dr. Beehner very educational and insightful.
  4. Wow great improvement Dr. Beehner, in your opinion why did scalp lifts, flaps and reductions cause so many repair patients?
  5. Recent photo from above of this 68 y/o patient, plus rear vertex photos from before any HT's, 3 years later (light blue backdrop), and recent photo from same view (light green backdrop). Mike Beehner, M.D.
  6. Thanks for posting Dr.Beehner and the results seem great! It would be nice to know the graft breakdown for each case and total number of grafts transplanted. It would also be great to see some more angles of the hair transplant i.e the crown, sides and donor scar. Again, seems like a great result but with some clarity would seem even better.
  7. Some of you guys may remember Michael. We did his first case, and filmed and posted the entire event online, with his parents involved. And we did a second case several months ago. In brief, we took a kid who had very little hair, and no confidence, and gave him a mature hairline, and good coverage to the front of the crown. Once he started growing in, his parents, and Michael himself say that he got out of the basement, got a good paying IT job, got dates, then a fiance, and he just sent his wedding pics in. I've posted several videos of Michael....not because we changed his life, but rather to show that younger guys can benefit from HT IF done correctly, and often times if the parents help make the decision. Too often I see young men who have gotten a goofy low hairline that won't age well, and too little hair sprinkled over too much head. You younger...and older guys must plan to have this investment for decades..so plan for the future. We have another younger guy video coming soon. As always, for anyone, but particularly younger guys....do your research and do not rush into this. Educate yourself before your first consultation, and don't get sold something that sounds too good to be true. An HT may help your confidence, but only if done correctly and planning for the future! The video is: Dr. Lindsey McLean VA Recent video: his longer extended interview:
  8. Hi, I am currently going through the process of trying to find a good clinic and doctor/surgeon to perform a FUE transplant for my hairline, I have been told to get the results I want to achieve will require around 2100 grafts this has been from 4 consultations none of which are affiliated in any way and they all seem roughly on the same page. I have been for a consultation with the private clinic this is by far my favourite to use Dr Reddy but the way they price per hair rather than per graft firstly makes no sense to me, and secondly is double the price compared to most other places as they quoted for 4000 hairs. I went to one with the uk hair transplant clinics, their money back or free re-treatment offer seems fair enough but the fact they advertise this puts me off, they have three surgeons who have very little information out there about them, one of them that they seem to only be using in London is Dr Mir Malkani someone I am considering having a consultation with personally as the photos I have seen of his work seem pretty impressive but with this industry everything just appears to be smoke and mirrors, I read some bad reviews about him but this was from 8/9 years ago and with him still being in the profession you would expect by now he must be doing something right or no one would use him? Whilst discussing UKHT Clinics I saw a video on youtube of Dr Vikas Kunnure he showed before and after photos/videos as well as during the operation/post op and I could see Dr Vikas Kunnure in the background and he pointed him out as his surgeon for the day and the results seem good although the guy making the video just appears very affiliated to them as he is trying to get people to email him to get the information on the clinic/surgeon and wont say in the video/comments/respond to viewers so these are for someone in my position red flags granted the work looks great and this doctor is amongst my top 5 at the moment and I may travel up to where he is based for a consultation with him has anyone on here had any experience with Dr Vikas Kunnure? Other options are Wimpole clinic with Michael May, he has some horrendous reviews on here from what I found, something I read about his assistant operating on a 17 year old boy put me off of this massively yet like all the others he claims to have done 200,000 procedures and has perfect results. Another doctor I have been looking into a lot lately is Dr. Mark Tam his work from what I can find looks impressive but there seems to be nothing out there from people giving reviews on their experience with him, I have tried to contact his office from the number provided on his website but have not been successful in getting through, hes also affiliated with the private clinic it would appear and this is going to be the same case as Dr Reddy with the price being per hair. Dr Greg Williams from the Farjo is the one who performs FUE at the Harley street London clinic I see a lot of good things about Farjo but I cant find much on their results or anything on Dr Williams who covers the south of the UK for them does he live up to the Farjo name that I see everyone recommending solely for the UK? I would prefer not to go abroad but if I did it would likely be to see Dr Erdogan as he has a lot of photos of his work, before, post op and final results and everything seems fantastic from what he does but I would prefer not to leave the UK, he also seems to be cheaper than the UK surgeons/clinics which is mind blowing if only he was closer or did surgeries in the UK... Any insight would be appreciated, I have also looked into Harley Street hair clinic, they don't seem to advertise their surgeons so I have no idea who they use I have seen some results on youtube but the guy is also on their website adverts so stuff like that always puts me off.
  9. This 25 y/o male has extensive baldness for his age and is now almost a Norwood VII. The only plan that I will use for someone this age and with this much hair loss is an oval frontal forelock pattern. The main goal is to frame the face and take away the tall "ski hill" of bald skin going up from the forehead which makes many men look older than they really are. It also has a devastating effect on the self image these men have of themselves. We performed his procedure at the Orlando Live Surgery Workshop of the ISHRS 2 years ago. We placed 1280 grafts, of which 980 were FU grafts and 300 were MFU grafts (multi-follicular) for a total of 3274 hairs. The patient returned to see us around 7 months after his procedure, which can be viewed in the "after" photos here. In the next couple of years he will most likely have a second procedure of about the same size. His hair will become more full appearing in the next 6-8 months also. I tell these patients that the best styling pattern is to take the hair back and to the right corner. Two prominent politicians who were transplanted who style their hair this way are Joe Biden and Jim Baker. Also, small "humps" were drawn in his plan, in which downward pointing hairs are placed to help blur the area between the forelock and the side fringes. The crown/vertex in the rear will only get larger as he ages, so there is a very limited amount of donor hair available. The most important thing of all is to make sure nothing is done that would make his appearance freakish in any way for the rest of his life. Mike Beehner, M.D.
  10. This patient came into our clinic today for his 6 month follow up after receiving 1500 FUE grafts in a one day session. The grafts were focused in his apex area, and he is stable on finasteride. A 0.80 mm sharp punch was used for manual extraction, and Hans Lion Implanters were used for placement. All grafts were harvested and placed by. Dr. Vories.
  11. Bill - Managing Publisher

21 years later; 68 y/o man returns; Had 2400 grafts.

Dr. Beehner, what a significant difference in the before and after pictures. I’m very impressed but then again, I’m always impressed. Keep up the fantastic work as usual. Best wishes, Bill
  12. For a total of $6210. I have two sets of post-ops at 13 months, one at a decent length, another buzzed down with a #3 so the scalp is more visible. Sorry for the poor pre-op photo (last pic shown). Added the 5 month pic to showcase the redness that was still very visible at the time, and to show the area of transplanted hair. https://imgur.com/a/Lql1c Btw, this was an updated to a previous thread I made where I left his name out of the discussion.
  13. Hi All, I just want to update how I’m doing after my transplants with Dr. Beehner. I had 4 transplants over about 5 years and my results are absolutely fantastic! First off I have to say Dr. Beehner and his staff are wonderful people. I felt like I was part of a family when I was there. They were all pleasant, polite and most importantly, extremely knowledgeable and competent. My hair looks great with a very natural hairline. My last transplant was to add hair to my temple areas. Well, it came out so well that I ended up being asked to model it at the hair transplant convention that took place in Boston. Surgeons from around the world examined my hairline with specific emphasis on my temple area. They were extremely impressed, as I still am! It’s been about 5 years since the last procedure and my hair is still looking great, with no shedding or loss of transplanted hair. I’ve been reading and researching data about plattelate rich plasma (PRP) and it’s use to help thicken existing hair and help to rejuvenate hair follicles that still exist but became dormant. I went back to Dr. Beehner to ask about this and I’ve now had two sessions with his partner, Dr. Slaughter. Four sessions are recommended, but I am already noticing my hair looks a bit thicker and I can see some new hair growth. Dr. Slaughter advised results start to become more noticeable around the third treatment, so I’m looking forward to the final results. I wholeheartedly recommend Drs. Beehner and Slaughter if you are looking for transplants or wish to explore PRP. They are a great team and my results were beyond my expectations.
  14. This 42 y/o man had had three sessions widely spaced over the past 9 years. Of the 4192 grafts he received, 3448 were FU grafts and 744 were MFU grafts. 10,740 hairs were added to his head from these grafts. His hair was of a very fine nature. Mike Beehner, M.D.
  15. This patient came in today for his 6 month follow-up after receiving 4000 FUE grafts in a two consecutive day session in our Charleston, SC clinic. He is stable on finasteride. 2000 grafts were focused on the midscalp/vertex, and 2000 grafts in his frontal forelock/hairline. Grafts were harvested with a 0.80 sharp punch, and placed with Hans Lion Implanters. All grafts were harvested and placed by Dr. Vories. Full facial images used with patient's consent.
  16. This 29 y/o patient had a single surgical session last year with 1087 grafts, consisting of 867 FU's and 220 DFU grafts, for a total of 2629 hairs. Mike Beehner, M.D.
  17. This patient came in for his 6 month follow up this week after receiving 1500 FUE grafts in his frontal forelock/hairline. His hair loss has been stable over the past 5 years without finasteride. 0.80 mm sharp punch used for extraction, and grafts placed with Hans Lion Implanters. Full facial images used with patient's permission. All grafts harvested and placed by Dr. Vories.
  18. I've been talking with Dr. Beehner's office for the past month and we both came to a solution we can agree on. There were some disagreements, but they have since been resolved in a professional matter. I can honestly say that I have been shown a great deal of understanding and empathy for the situation, from their end, and I greatly appreciate it.
  19. This 32 y/o male presented for his first hair transplant procedure in February of 2013. He recently returned for a second session to add density, at which time these "after" photos were taken. His 1224 grafts consisted of 884 FU's and 340 DFU grafts in the center. His recent session consisted of 1297 FU grafts. Mike Beehner, MD.
  20. This 51 y/o male came to us in May of 2012 for his first transplant procedure of 1669 grafts (1229 FU's and 440 DFU's) for a total of 4671 hairs. He returned in May of 2015 for his second procedure, at which time we placed 1870 grafts (1540 FU and 330 DFU). He had a 3rd procedure of 1600 FU's performed the other day, at which time these "after" photos were taken. Mike Beehner, M.D.
  21. On May 4, 2017 I went in for the surgery at 7:30 AM and I was picked up at 5:30 PM with approximately nine hours for the surgical procedure. I had 1478 Follicular Unit grafts (1-3 hairs each) and 320 small multi- Follicular Unit grafts (4 to 5 hairs each) for total of 1798 grafts and 3878 hairs transplanted. However, just before surgery started, Dr. Beehner and I discussed the plan and decided to add 148 additional graphs. Dr. Beehner was accompanied by a resident, Dr. Slaughter and I felt very comfortable with both of them. Dr. Beehner did the initial examination and he answered all my questions fully and made me feel very comfortable regarding the hair transplant surgery. My sister had hair transplant surgery twice with Dr. Beehner and she was extremely happy with the outcome of the surgery. I showed Dr. Beehner a picture of me from approximately 18 years ago and showed him what I wanted as an outcome of the surgery. He felt confident he could give me a look that I wanted and now, nine months later I am very happy with the outcome. I was very surprised that the surgery was painless but I did take some pain medication the first night, prophylactically. I only had a little bit of bleeding the first night and everything went very well. I did have a lot of itching in the back of my head in and around the sutures for several months, but eventually that subsided. After nine months, a lot of hair has grown in the areas exactly where I wanted it to be. It appears that my hair is still growing and becoming more sturdy. I am very grateful to Dr. Beehner and Dr. Slaughter for a job extremely well done. I would recommend them unconditionally and have actually recommended them to several friends. I am very grateful for their professional and caring approach and for a great outcome..
  22. After reading your other thread it is now clear this is Dr. Beehner. Actually it could only be him or this other clinic which uses the same method and "produced" one of the worst results in the history of this forum. My opinion: Run from this clinic. If you get some money back, fine. But do not go there anotther time for surgery. They are outdated and lazy. For the mods: If you read my posts, you will learn that I am not a member who harasses clinics. Just look at the “Considering Dr. Doganay for Recommendation Now That He's Made Corrections” Thread. I always try to see both sides. But: Actually I think it is time to think of taking Dr. Beehner from this list. He seems outdated in any way. Uses old methods, the staff he has trained seems worse than him. Also I have read some of his studies which have major scientific flaws. There are so many great surgeons not recommended here. Why should there be this clinic on it and mislead poor guys.
  23. Crown cases can be notoriously difficult. Getting the exit angles and an adequate hair mass is needed. This patient came in for his one year follow up after receiving 2000 FUE grafts into his vertex. Many times with vertex cases there can be a two to three month delay in hair growth compared to hairline cases. When this patient came in for his six month follow up, there was about 40-50% growth, while with most hairline/frontal forelock cases most patients are almost completely grown in at six months. According to the patient, it wasn't until about the nine month post-op mark that he began seeing the final result. All grafts harvested and placed by Dr. Vories.
  24. This patient came in last week for his 1 year follow up after receiving 3000 FUE grafts in his frontal forelock, hairline, and midscalp in a one day session. A 0.80 mm sharp punch was used for extraction, and Hans Lion Implanters were used for graft placement. Full facial images were used with patient's consent, and all grafts were harvested and placed by Dr. Vories.
  25. This African-American patient came in for his 6 month follow up yesterday, after receiving 1500 FUE grafts into his hairline and bilateral apex areas. A test case was performed to ensure that the tissue could be extracted with minimal transection, and the test case was successful. In our practice, we see about 20% of patients of African descent have a distinct curl to the tissue that prevents successful harvesting with a straight punch. Grafts were placed with Hans Lion Implanters, and all tissue was harvested and placed by Dr. Vories.
