  1. I want to thank Dr. Maras and HDC team for repairing my hair, I was in terrible condition from my first experience with Arenamed. I am 36 years today and had my first HT back in February 2018 at Arenamed clinic in Turkey Istanbul with an escort service with a local agent in my country that represent Arenamed, before the surgery I was promised in a contract, that I will have 5000 grafts ( mega session in a day) WITH NO SCARS, my experience at Arenamed was horrible! I had 10 hours surgery, very painful procedure that almost cost my life! They injected me too much anesthetic, which caused me to faint on a wheelchair, puke and vomit for 12 hours, body temperature was cold and squirm! They called to an ambulance and the doctor determined that my blood pressure was low due to anesthesia overdose (I am not allergic to anesthesia), after I recovered in my hotel, I couldn't sleep, I continued to threw up in the toilet and the head was too painful so I couldn't sleep! After a year me and the agent agreed my HT was a FAILURE, BUT he refused to admit I had scars! I went to a specialist they approved with a latter my donor area got scared due the HT surgery, PLUS the surgery hurt MY NATURAL HAIR, so the HT was failure, I got scars, I almost died from medical malpractice and my natural hair got damaged. The agecny only offered me free HT at Arenamed but I refused and asked for a full refund and he refused even after he didn't provide what he promised on paper, we had a fight without understanding and no agreement. Few months ago the same agent texted and THREATENED TO SUE ME! For telling my story but I ignored him and followed the rules by lawyer's advice. MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE I EVER HAD! Now for the good part with the lovely experience at HDC in Cyprus At first I met Dr. Maras, his team and the representors in my country, I was very emotional and told them with tears my story, I explained them I am ashamed to go out by the way I look now, I feel my appearance and my confidence was destroyed, they calmed me down, and promised that everything will be fixed, Dr. Maras explained that my luck is the fact that Arenamed didn't touch my donor area next to my ears (strong donor area), they were very empathetic, they explained me the whole procedure will be totally different in much nicer way. Before my arrival to HDC, I met 7 patients that had HTs by Dr. Maras, all looked great to me! 4 of the patients, had REPAIR HAIR TRANSPLANTS, and 2 of them were like myself customers that had a huge let letdown from the first agent that work with Arenamed, also I months over months learned a lot about hair transplants, the difference between Microscope FUE, to Mini FUE to only eye using FUE, how to preserve grafts, why my first HT failed, how not to make scars, hair punch mm, ect... When I arrived to Cyprus I felt much calmer compare to Istanbul, the apartment that HDC provided me was clean and modern. The 2 days surgey by Dr. Maras went clean and easy, with small injections, no pain, no issues I am now post 7 months since the REPAIR HT and I couldn't be happier with the results! Full hair with no scars as promised! Dr. Maras and HDC team regained my confidence and youthful look, I HIGHLY recommend *** If anyone want to ask and consult me, feel free to PM me privately *** The pics will show you comparsion between 3000 Euros HT by Arenamed vs 6500 Euros HT by HDC.
  2. Hi guys! Im new here in this great community, but definitely not new to hairloss stuff. I already had a fair research with a help of this forum and users experiences, as part of my journey to my (soon) HT. I will tell my story in short. Im 30, and been suffer from hairloss for about 10 years. There are no words to describe how this has been effecting my life, Im pretty sure more than almost anybody else here. I always have been concern with my look to a level of obsession, and in some point I realized I have BDD (body dysmorphic disorder) , Started as a teenager, got in depression cause I didnt like my appearance. But with time I grew up nice and was very pleased, till hairloss kicked in. I can actually remember the very day it started lol, I noticed my temples receded a tiny bit, and got panicked immediately. and from that point, it was doomed. I became obssesed with my hairloss 24/7, it increased my overall bdd to a new levels. I immediately jump on meds, but they didnt stop it, dont know if they did anything but I just kept taking them. with the years hairloss kept advancing slow but steady - major temple recession, front hairline receded a bit, and thinning on top. I realize in some point that HT is my only option to get my hair back and actually get my life back, and did a research 2 years ago and consultation with both Bisanga and Lupanzula, which both were great, but I ended up deciding to postpone it for several reasons. And now it is the time for sure. So, to the point, I need your help and opinions on any matter here that can help me get the best that I can. I added pics below. My goal is to restore my hairline and temples - This is the most important for me, I have to have a good frame, and preferable good density in hairline and behind it. I want to lower a bit the hairline and even consider to reconstruct the temples points a bit. As about the procedure type - I thought Im going for FUE all the time, but after reading in this forum Im not so sure. I read alot of advantages for FUT - you can get more grafts from your donor, the yield is higher, and overall better chance for more quality results, is that true? Yes of course there is a scar, but first Im not going to shave my head never in my life. I do shave the back and sides closer than the top of course, but not on zero guard, so im not sure how much of a problem it will be. Also, the price is lower, which is a plus, but I want to say here that generally price is only second priority for me. Second, Im still not sure which doctor to choose. Im from middle east, and the best for me would be someone from Europe (I dont even consider turkey). currently in my list are Bisanga - great surgeon, care about his patients, I already had consultation with him in the past and I got very good impression. but he specialize mainly on FUE, and if I decided on FUT I guess there are better options? Also, is his type of work considered dense packing? Im not sure. I would love to get good density in the front. De Freitas - which has amazing results, but im not sure about waiting list, does someone here knows what to expect? and also, I heard that communication is problematic since he speaks spanish. I dont know, but it seems like an issue to me. Feriduni - great doctor as well. but most of his cases look too conservative to me. and he is also specialize on FUE (?) what you think? Dr.Maras from HDC, cyprus - He is a great, reputable surgeon, with great results. And although he is recommended doctor here, I dont see many posts about him, or even mentions, when people here talk about the best doctors. I wonder why is that, wouldnt you consider him in the same level as the other top tier doctors in this list? Im not sure about his specialty in FUT though. But the good thing is his clinic very close to me, and actually has representation in my country. Hattingen - I heard about this clinic here, and saw some good results posted by them, but not alot of patient results. I do read many opinions of people praising this clinic, but I really cant tell I guess... The rest of the options are in US/Canada. I mean, I really hate flights, and long flights to canada or US seem like nightmare for me. Im not afraid of flights, Im just kind of big guy and it's really uncomfortable for me to sit there for so many hours. But since I cant compromise on the outcome even a bit, I guess I would have to take them into account as well. in my list: Dr Hasson from H&W - I read so many great things about Hasson. Looked for lots of patients posted results. not one negative review, and almost all are amazing, and also lots of cases similar to mine, with outcome I would kill for. I think he is actually number one for me in the list, since he does great FUT as well as FUE. The only problem is the distance about 13 hours flight. What do you think? would you fly so far for this? it really bothers me... and what if, god forbids, I will need a touch up or something? those flights can be very inconvenient. Im not even talking about frontal consultation, which Im not sure if they require it before the procedure. Dr.Konior - also great doctor as I read hear and some other places, but I really know less about him than the others. Im still in the research phase so I will get some more knowledge on those doctors and other that come up. This list is not closed at all, I would be happy to hear any (honest) opinion or suggestion. I would appreciate any response, and you can be sure that I will share with you my experience, when it happen, hopefully soon. Pics attached look really bad when it is not styled and combed... but I need to show them.
  3. Hey all, I had my first ever hair transplant at the HDC clinic in Nicosia, Cyprus on May 2 and 3, 2018 and I would like to share with you my experience and progress. I started noticing a recession in my hairline when I was 22 years old, nearly 10 years ago. I then started using Minoxidil 7 years ago with good success. When the hair loss spread to my midscalp and vertex and Minoxidil wasn’t helping, I started using hair fibers to mask my hairloss. However, it got to a point where that also became challenging, especially for the hairline. With regards to my surgery, it was spread across 2 days and meant to cover the hairline and the mid-scalp, leaving the vertex for a potential future surgery. Generally, after anesthesia injections, Dr. Maras would perform the punches and an assistant would then pull out the grafts. After that, I would have a snack/break, then another round of anesthesia injections in my recipient area, after which Dr. Maras would perform the incisions, and assistants would implant the grafts. On the first day, 1672 grafts were transplanted to the hairline area (582 singles, 838 doubles, and 252 triples). On the second day, 1458 grafts were transplanted to the mid-scalp (342 singles, 753 doubles, and 363 triples). I’m pleased with how everything went and the area that the clinic was able to cover. Dr. Maras and I agreed on a somewhat conservative hairline that matched the way I looked when I was younger. I think he and the whole medical team did a great job and the hairline looks very natural, and frames my face pretty nicely. After 3 days of recovery at the apartment provided by the clinic, I left Cyprus and continued my washes and following my post-op instructions at home. Of course, like most patients, I did experience some swelling and some discomfort with sleeping the first few days after surgery. About 8 days post-op, I was able to sleep normally and uninterrupted. I only took painkillers the first three nights. Largely any pain during the first week post-op was insignificant and tolerable. About 10 days post-op, my donor area healed and showed no sign of trauma or surgery. Now, at 5 weeks post-op, I’m amazed that my donor area looks great. I expected the reduction in density to be visible but to my eye, it’s almost as if nothing was done. Finally, I’ll share some information about what appreciated mostly about HDC and why I chose them over other recommended clinics on this forum. If I have learned anything reading threads here, it’s that a hair transplant is a major investment in myself worthy of going to a top doctor consistently producing great results. I had narrowed my choices down to ASMED and HDC. Eventually I ended up picking HDC because: • In addition to having a tremendous record of results, HDC seems to place a great deal of attention on managing the donor zones of patients and avoiding overharvesting at all cost. Given that I don’t have a great donor area (you’ll see some thinning in in my nape and sides in the photos), it was important for me to pick a clinic with good yield, and with whom I can manage my hair loss progressively, and not run roughshod over my donor area. As such, we agreed on covering the hairline and the mid-scalp in my first surgery, leaving some capacity in the donor zone to future procedures to cover the vertex and/or touch-up the front in a second surgery. • Communication with the clinic went exceptionally well from the very start. Their patient coordinator George answered all my questions through Whatsapp and email in a timely matter. He was also very honest with me about what I should expect give my advanced state of hair loss, and made sure not to overpromise. I felt like I was given individual attention and not simply sent generic responses, and that my best interest was always kept in mind. After having my surgery done, the clinic lived up to my expectations, as the levels of attention, care and hospitality I and my companion received were amazing. • The free accommodation in a flat rather than a hotel room. The flat given to us was very comfortable and fully furnished. With many markets nearby, we were able to shop for produce and take advantage of having a kitchen. • All the medical team at HDC speaks English fluently. It’s great to be able to converse with everyone, even during surgery. • The follow-up and daily washes offered after surgery. I took advantage of that and stayed there for 3 days post up. After I left Cyprus, the clinic kept checking with me about my recovery even after I left Cyprus. • Minor consideration: I live in Seattle, WA but my parents live in Lebanon, and Cyprus is only a 30-minute flight from Beirut. So I was able to visit them, recover from jet lag and get some good sleep for 3 days before going to Cyprus. Door to Door the trip from my house there to Nicosia is just 3-3.5 hours. • Also, I came across Hairplanter’s YouTube channel and thread. This guy documented his trip to HDC in a well-detailed manner. Additionally, he had a great result. Thanks for reading and I’ll provide updates every couple of months.
  4. Hi Everyone! I want to thank you all for being such a great resource in my hair transplant journey. I used this site extensively to learn about hair transplants and I would like to share with you all my hair transplant experience thus far so people can benefit. My profile: Age: 27 Clinic: HDC Clinic in Cyprus Surgeon: Dr. Kyriakos Maras Date of Surgery: April 1, 2017 Type: FUE # of Grafts: 3200 I started my hair loss in my late teens, receding heavily at my temples. I wish I had done something much earlier to combat my hair loss as I have lost a lot of my hair in the front and top since then. I started shaving my head to a 2 the last few years after growing tired of a combover. How I found my clinic: I did a lot of research online and compiled a list of top clinics in North America and Europe. Then I contacted each clinic for an online consultation where I sent them pictures and videos of my hair. I found the best way to organize info I receive and to compare and narrow down the clinics to what suited me best was to create an excel spread sheet. I recorded many things which included the number of grafts they recommend, the expected hairline design, and price. After narrowing down a few clinics, I looked extensively at patient reviews on hair transplant forums to make sure people are getting great results. I found that Erdogan at ASMED produced wonderful results at a reasonable price, but had a long waitlist and wanted me to be on finasteride for at least 6 months. Several others like Bisanga and Feriduni also produced great results but was a little more expensive. HDC is a clinic that one of my friends had gone to about 6 months earlier than I did. He got good results from them and so did a lot of other people online. Their price was also a little lower than Bisanga and Feriduni. So after contacting them for a consultation, they made me feel comfortable with their level of service and I went ahead and set up a surgery. The transplant experience: The clinic made me feel very comfortable that I was in good hands the whole time. Dr. Maras and the techs that worked there were very experienced, professional, and courteous. I was picked up from the airport by a driver sent by the clinic and they provided free accommodations for up to 7 days. At HDC, Dr. Maras does the punching and excision and the techs do the extraction and placing of grafts. The techs have all been working there for a long time, so I felt very comfortable. The surgery itself took over the course of 2 days, about 4/5 hours each day. Like most people on here say, the most uncomfortable part was having to lie down in an uncomfortable position. There was no pain at all aside from the anesthesia injections. The clinic offers free accommodation for up to 7 days, which I took advantage of. Post surgery I went into the clinic everyday and got my hair washed by them and they made sure everything was going well. By the time I left Cyprus, the scabbing had already been washed off my head. Here is a picture with Dr. Maras 4 days post op. Swelling has gone down considerably by then. Vlog of my hair transplant journey: I feel the best way to share my experience with you all is through visuals rather than words, so I decided to make videos documenting my whole experience in a vlog format. I have just finished and uploaded my first two vlogs on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrXSnH6jHAsX1EIgXECbIhQ/videos Vlog #1 shows my arrival to Cyprus and getting picked up at the airport. I also give a tour of the apartment that I lived in for a week. Vlog #2 shows the first day of surgery where Dr. Maras provided my consultation and designed my hairline. I am spending a lot of time to try to make these videos professional (first time video maker), and will upload a new vlog whenever it is done. I hope that people will find these videos documenting the whole process helpful. I will post in this thread whenever a new vlog is uploaded, but you can also subscribe to my channel to be notified. I really appreciate your support! Progress pictures: I have just hit 5 months and have already seen a lot of results. Here you can see a before after shot of the top and front of my hair. You can see that my hairline has been lowered by quite a bit. The hair is looking really great in pictures and even in sunlight. However, up close I am really hoping the front will gain more in density. I will continue to post more old pictures that I took after the surgery and update you guys with my progress here. Also I made an Instagram account where I upload my progress pictures, so be sure to support, follow me there, and check that out too! https://www.instagram.com/hairplanter/ Current hair loss regime: I am currently doing the big 3 regime. I started finasteride in January 2017 and luckily had no side effects. The Minoxidil I started 2 months after surgery and Nizoral I just started a week ago. Nizoral has caused a bit of shedding after I incorporated it into my regime. I'm planning on continuing for longer before I decide if want to keep using it or not. 1) 0.5mg Finasteride daily. 2) 5% Kirkland Branded Minoxidil Foam applied morning and night daily. 3) 2% Nizoral shampoo used once a week. Thank you so much for reading my post! I hope that you find my content helpful if you are considering or have had a hair transplant. Feel free to reach out with any comments and questions. I look forward to providing more content for the hair loss community! -Hairplanter Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrXSnH6jHAsX1EIgXECbIhQ/videos Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/hairplanter/
  5. I will try to describe my adventure with the procedure in the HDC Clinic. I landed in Cyprus on 27.11, a driver picked me up from the airport. After about an hour of riding I found myself under the clinic and the building where I was to be boarded. The next day I came to the clinic at 8.30 p. m. After I signed several documents, I met Doctor Maras. After the conversation, where I described my stories and expectations. The doctor drew a line that I accepted and we went on to the next part. The treatment was smooth. During the operation you could see the experience and professionalism of the whole team. Everyone knew what to do. During the procedure I had two short breaks - lunch and a small snack with baked goods from a bakery located near the clinic (it is open 24 hours a day and biscuits are brilliant:D). At the end of the procedure Dr. Mars told me about the number of planned graphs, which was 1800 will increase and we will have to add another 400 on the next day. This was due to the poor quality of the hair in the middle of the head. The treatment from the next bottom lasted just over 3 hours. Why I chose HDC Clinic Apart from my reputation, I think that the care after the procedure was the most important for me. The staff is in touch with me all the time, I was not left alone for a while. I will try to place photos regularly from the progress on my head.
  6. Update: I’m back in Nicosia for my second transplant to cover the half of the balding area that wasn’t tackled in the first round, mainly the crown area. Today Dr Maras and his team managed to extract and plant about 1400 grafts, working from the back of the scalp towards the hairline. The goal is to repeat the same process tomorrow and even patch up the weak areas behind the hairline and the right side of the hairline which I pointed out in my previous posts. Dr. Maras agreed that the hairline doesn’t look optimal and needs further reinforcements for better symmetry, more straightness and a more youthful appearance. I will keep using this thread to provide updates over the coming weeks and months. Here are some of my photos from the last 1-3 months, 16-19 months post first op. You can see the weak areas behind the hairline that need more work. I didn’t ask the clinic for any repair work to be done at their expense because I hesitate to, but there was a post some months ago suggesting that I do that for the hairline. I’ll see how I can subtly and respectfully inquire if they would consider spot repairing the hairline tomorrow. Also one final remark: Dr Maras now uses a micromotor for extractions instead of manual punch. I don’t know if that’s related but the throbbing pain in my donor zone is noticeably more than the first surgery, when manual punch was used.
  7. Seems like u dont want to go outside the West coast. THAT is one of the worst mistakes anyone could make is refusing to widen their HT surgeon horizon. The world is a big place! I don't know where ur getting the first two names as GREAT surgeons or clinics. U clearly haven't done much research if ur listing those two clowns as ur top picks! Stay off the Real self crap and Instagram. Bottom line is THIS forum is where u should be looking for a HT surgeon. Gabel is ok and so is Diep but they will rape u in fees. Diep I would consider a Top HT doctor tho. Gabel I would not. Erdogan is the best period. Second best imo would be Dr. Maras from HDC..... Although Vorhies in SC is pretty dam good too and reasonably priced for a US doctor. Mohebi is a good pick if looking to do large body hair transplant otherwise not even close to a TOP pick. Most of US doctors rape their patients with outrageous fees. Not because they have outrageous malpractice insurance either like many claim. They're just greedy. Dr. Nader in Mexico I would also put up there as the TOP HT Doctor. He doesn't get a lot of attention and doesn't do much advertising but he is extremely CHEAP and VERY GOOD! Most ppl dont want to travel outside the US and therefore settle on someone decent here in the states. There are great surgeons here but u will pay 2-3x as much money and get no better results. For something that will last u a lifetime DECENT isn't really what u should be looking for.
  8. Do you mind posting photos? It would be easier to advise you if we knew your current hair loss situation. With that said, we do recommend Dr. Erdogan and Dr. Yaman in Turkey, we also recommend Dr. Maras in Greece.
  9. JJ your a much braver man then me I'm still trying to figure my next more heres my quiky story maybe you have some solid advice ? Lingering around the forums for many years trying to settle on a doctor that I felt confident enough to do this with also waiting till my loose to get ripe and my brain to feel desperate enough to actually do this craziness Settled on Erdogan can't go wrong with that guy what a relief actually be settle on 1 doctor unfortunately that didn't workout dude shot me down 3X over a year time citing miniaturization not a good candidate moving on sent my pictures around consulting to most of the the big name doctors none saw any issues all said good even went and saw a reliable local doctor said donor looks good to go Next stop settled on Dr. Maras HDC great track record going back many many years until I noticed something strange looking back at all his before and after pictures I don't see any temple work which is something i need done desperately so I ask his people if they could send me some examples of his work they sent me 1 or 2 examples when i asked for more they never got back to me . So I moved on next stop was Dr, Baubac was excited the guys results are impressive boom unexpectedly again shot down not a good candidate same miniaturization story this just happened a few days ago so just trying to figure out my next move Any suggestions ? not ready to just sit back and except this
  10. After years of helping from reading posts here on this forum, its my time to give back to this community. Im 27 years old. I started to lose my hair at the age of 17. started to take fin and minoxidil. it really helped me for a few years and even had alot of hair like i never had till the age of 24. at 25 most of my frontal 3rd region lost his fullness. I knew i had to do something and start to explore on the net. because of my young age i decided its too young to go for an ht and went on hair piece. wearing it for 2 years, it gave me good times and bad times. but i came to a point i cant stand it anymore. decided to go for an HT. I can conclude that I was happy from my experience with HDC clinic Technicians and Dr.maras. If you got any questions be my guest and feel free to do so. Before Picture and right after
  11. Hi All, Long time lurker first time poster. I wanted to hear from the community more about Dr. Maras and the HDC Hair Transplant Clinic. I've been really impressed with their work in the past but there doesn't seem to be much recently. I really like how he does all the extractions himself and the punches as well. There isn't a lot of doctors that do that it seems. Thanks ahead of time for the responses and I look forward to hearing back from you all!
  12. Good place to start Here's 2 of the most moderately priced and best doctors in the business doing amazing work and approved on this forum Dr. Koray Erdogan from Turkey Dr. Maras HDC Cyprus Greece Also theres Dr. Emrah Cinik from Turkey not approved here yet but worth taking a serious look at if money is your main issue hes super low cost Resent and past reviews of his work look impressive also If I was you I would start by checking the good doctors sites looking at there work prices pictures then doing a search the doctors last names on this and others forums viewing more pictures of there work reading peoples personal reviews and everything else you can find on the doctors Then get some of your own pictures ready front back sides and top and send them around to the doctors online consultations Good luck
  13. Melvin help me out here your much more experienced in this stuff then me. I've spent the past week searching hard on most of the main HT forums looking at HDC and Dr. Maras's work comparing it to Erdogan and others reading reviews. I'm impressed with what I see. His work looks really good and theirs a lot of it out there going back a long long way. I've also been back and forth with his people and its all been positive they have also sent me many examples of work hes done similar to mine and pretty much at this point I had settled on him but then I noticed something a bit strange ? Out of all his personal review pictures going back I can't find any where hes done temple point work I found like one from like 10yrs ago and it looks a little strange. My temples area is seriously recessed and getting it fixed in like number 1 priority of any HT for me. Personally I feel that the hair line temple area and points run hand and hand and are the make or break of any successful HT surgery and without the proper temple points to frame the face things tend to just look not quite right? So I contacted his people explained and also asked if they could send me some examples of the good doctors temple work and he only sent me just one case back and then he gave me the follows below explanation Regarding the temporal peaks, this is a subject that can hold a lot of discussion. I know the work of Dr Erdogan and his practice to build the peaks. The main argument is that those peaks can look good at the beginning but a few years later when hair loss may progress then these peaks could be a great liability. You see the results presented 1 year after. But if you see these results presented 5-10 years after, you will notice that as hair loss may progress or miniaturization may progress then the peaks is standing out as aggressive hair transplantation and one would may want to have them removed. It is not a matter if Dr Maras can do it, but if it is correct to do it. This really throws me off temple points are so important so again I searched around the HT forums searching temples and temple points and don't see any discussion on this issue at all So looking to start some here I mean the doctors work in hairlines looks great top notch excellent but temple points also takes a special skill
  14. Dr. Maras is a recommended surgeon and has a track record of high quality results that’s an excellent choice.
  15. Right I'm trying to change direction and setting on a second choice sent my pictures around and waiting for a more consult replies to come back been in leaning towards Dr.Maras with HDC What ya think good choice ? Hoping to get more feedback and suggestions here before i make a final decision https://www.hairtransplants-hdc.com/hdc-results/results
  16. Thanks for the replies feeling a little lost right now really appreciate the help Next time I color my hair I plan to take some new pictures and do the comb-through video thing and maybe I'll also go back to the local HT doctor here in South Florida and talk to him more specifically about the miniaturization and have him take a second look ? I'm pretty sure I'm needing atleast 3000 graphs with Erdogan it would definitely be atleast 5k US Doctors like Konior and Gabel are booked super busy I really wanted to get this done with in the next 6months and also there pricing is a bit over the top I think for me to get the density I'd like I might be looking at close to 25 to 30k crazy don't want to spent that much It really took me along time on the forums to finally settle on a doctor and I'm really struggling again now to settle on an comparable alternative to Erdogan Leaning towards Dr Kyriakos Maras HDC today good choice ? other suggestions please chime in ? I also emailed my pictures to Dr.Yaman , Dr.Karadeniz , The Hairline Clinic (HLC), Dr.Cinik anyone I'm missing ? Heres what Dr. Cinik's people had to say about Erdogan below Koray Erdogan is choosing his patients and is only accepting patients where he knows that they will have 100 % results, he is rejecting a lot of patients.as we are not as worried in our reputation as him but more for are patients satisfaction, we would do your transplant and are sure that you ll achieve great results. Ozlem Mentes Assistant of Dr.Cinik
  17. Hi All I have recently booked a hair transplant with Dr Kyriakos Maras of HDC in Cyprus. I am understandly nervous but also looking forward to possibly seeing an end to this terrible curse of thinning and balding hair I booked Dr Kyriakos Maras and HDC through reviews and reccomendations on this site and so I hope I am in good hands. So far I have been dealing with a gentleman named George who is their customer relations guy. He is very charming, efficient and has been a pleasure to deal with. At no point has he tried to upsell me anything or coerce me into any decisions which has been good. So far so good and great first impressions. SO I have booked for 3-4th July to have 3000 grafts done at HDC. I am staying from the Sunday before the proceedure (2nd July) to the Friday (7th July). I am staying in the accomadation provided free of charge by HDC and I'll let you guys know what thats like when I arrive. I have saved up to have this procedure done and so I really hope it is as good as the before and after pictures HDC display on their website and on here. I will keep a regular blog for you guys and any advice along the way from you will also be welcome. I am nervous as hell but here we go! I have uploaded some pics of my current hairline. All Best JF x
  18. Dr. Konoir, Dr. Diep, Dr. Shapiro, Dr. Rahal, H&W, Dr. Lupunzula, Dr. Bisanga, Dr. Maras, those are just to name a few. I believe Dr. Maras at HDC clinic is close to Dr. Erdogan’s price range. Dr. Erdogan is a great surgeon, but this community recommends other surgeons that are also great.
  19. Background: My name is Dan, age 24. Hairline began receding around the age of 18 and continue to recede at a slow paste. Been looking to get a hair transplant for about a year now. Have been shopping around to see which Dr. will be the best for me. Got a consultation from almost every well respected Dr. in the US and Europe. History/Medication:Grandfathers on both sides have suffered from MPB, however, only at a later age (35+). My brother and father both have a full head of hair. Took Propecia for 1 year, stopped about three months ago due to no results and strong sexual side effects. Never took Rogaine religiously. However, I am aware that after the transplant I will need to start taking it. Hair: Norwood 2.5. Receding hairline and temples. No hair loss in crown or top of head. Hair is thick and wavy, donor area is abundant. Front (recipient): http://i.imgur.com/WHeQpPi.jpg Back (donor): http://i.imgur.com/YIVZQFQ.jpg?1 Why I chose Dr. Maras: After doing much research, a lot of reading (especially on this forum,) I have found the Dr. Maras and the HDC clinic would be the best choice for anyone living in Europe/Middle East, who want to get premium results at a good price. Dr. Maras has posted many good results, a few of the best I have seen on the site are his work. And he makes some killer hairlines! Travel: I will be flying out tonight to Cyprus (the flight was paid by the clinic,) there I will be picked up and taken to one of HDC's apartments (which is across the street from the clinic.) I will not write anything further about the procedure at this point or after, and will update when I am there. THE PROCEDURE 1763 grafts were taken from my donor via FUE over the course of two days and implanted into my frontal hairline (lowering it a bit and filling in the temples.) About half single hair grafts and the rest were variations off of 2/3 Will keep this updated with pictures on day of procedure, days following procedure, as well a monthly update of my progress. Updates and pic from post op on pg2 Will accept any questions/comments or suggestions! Updates will come soon
  20. In HDC we believe that a good result comprises of many factors apart from the good doctor. By the way The doctor responsible for this case was Dr. Maras. Two additional important factors are given below: The quality of the medical Team working with the doctor and the compatibility of the team with the specific doctor. For Example the technician know the way that the doctor is making punching, sites etc. if a doctor uses new fly over technician it takes time until each other will coordinate their ways. The post-operative care is also very important as the grafts are very sensitive the first 72 hour after surgery. Also the post-operative healing is important for the patient. See the links below that expand on the importance of the team and the post operation care. https://www.hairtransplants-hdc.com/blog/item/teamwork-for-fue-surgery-from-hdc-gives-better-results https://www.hairtransplants-hdc.com/blog/item/fue-hair-transplant-post-operation-care-important-or-not Giuseppe
  21. So we can't get enough of the "recommend the best doctor for whatever" type of posts, I get it but this is a bit different. I specifically want to know which of the FUE surgeons you have come upon which consistently have the best results in terms of minimal scarring or better said, imperceptible scars. Some doctors are amazing at the patterns they do and the small imprint they leave behind. I am currently nearing toward Dr. Maras and also looking at Dr. Bisanga and Dr. Lupanzula. I know they are good doctors but have no idea how good they master the art of making scars less noticeable. I am a pessimist so naturally I am taking a slightly different outlook of this. I've attached pictures of what I could live with in terms of post-FUE scars and what would not be so great. I am a pessimist so naturally I am looking at the worst option here which involves using a shaver or even razor if the results later on aren't so great.
  22. I understand the nerves but hopefully there is some excitement in there too. You picked Dr. Maras and he is outstanding. Obviously it's your call but your so close to the surgery date so I encourage you to follow through. I believe you will be very happy. Best wishes, Bill
  23. Outstanding natural work as always! Was the surgeon Dr. Maras? The second procedure should provide the extra icing on the cake for the crown and overall density. But he no longer looks bald in the frontal third (crown area aside of course) and definite major cosmetic improvement.
