  1. I have had some login problems to the forum, so I am delayed, (now managed to login using directed IP to USA) I see you are happy to find a new thread to bash Maral again, and this is your replica post. Why dont you understand, I am here just because of you and your team PUP, KO, BUSA team. Clinic representative was honest and told the facts about them from the beginning, threads have proved this, anyway you always distorted their words just to spoil their threads as you do here now. Yes, as stated by Johnboy, Lngevita and Maral has just have competition. Thank you John you provided this evidence. PupDady, My explanation is just for you here; only morons like you and BUSA can believe such an accusation that I am posting using the mentioned names. The reality will come very soon.. Ah, see here, http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/178387-patient-results-dr-reul-yaman-5100-grafts.html Labeling somebody "moron" is not insulting and was allowed here, also telling lies to the community about the training is also acceptable to become a recommended doctor. Thats way honourable posters like Questionmark has left this forum, leaving here to the posters like you, what a shame. But, I leave this thread to be restpecful against Dr. Dua, I will continue in related thread. Just follow there.
  2. GraveD11ger, Both sagittal and coronal incisions are valid methods of making recipient sites. I'm not sure why people keep echoing this information about one direction being "with" the blood vessels and another being "against" it. This isn't how vessels run in the scalp. The part of the scalp you're referencing in the above receives blood supply from two distinct origin sources - the supraorbital/supratrochlear arteries anteriorly and the superficial temporal artery laterally - that run in perpendicular directions. What's more, both these sources form beds of anastomoses that run in all different directions. So saying that one type of incisions run parallel to vessels while another runs perpendicular isn't accurate. Parallel versus coronal refers to anatomic orientation based on the sutures in the skull. Furthermore, one doesn't damage the vessels more than the other. Though, if you do want to get technical, coronal - perpendicular - incisions actually create shallower sites and theoretically cause less vessel damage. This is due to the shape of the blade and the orientation at which it enters the scalp when using it in a sagittal versus coronal plane. It's worth noting, as well, that I'm not a Turkish-certified "aesthetic plastic surgeon." In the US, this is knowledge taught in medical school and reinforced in dozens of post-graduate residency training programs. Having said ALL THAT, this isn't the place to discuss Dr. Maral - or any other physician for that matter. Please, keep future discussion focused on Dr. Dua's work in this thread. If you want to discuss Maral, there are plenty of other available threads; or, like Spanker said, you could create another.
  3. Thanks California, that`s very nice from you It wasn`t just this thread, but a couple in the last time. I was accused of being a rep in another thread (which has been resolved in the meantime with "scar5" btw), the "Horrible results" thread that probably will lead into some soothing words from the mods and the surgeon, but no consequences in the end and so on.. It`s just things like when the results of Dr. Dua appeared only a few weeks ago, I somehow felt that it is a pre-arranged game being played out and he is soon to be proposed for recommendation and then gets recommended no matter what.. And it`s then been even more ridiculous than I imagined it to be... And about the delayed Bhatti recommendation I always had my very own thoughts I better keep to myself (same now in regards to Maral btw..) It`s just too much which is wrong on here imho, like a bottomless pit.. Just not straight.. Like a theatre sometimes. Not willing to play my role, sorry. Still I learned so much from this forum, and I know the mods have a very difficult job, which they execute very well imo. It still is the best place to do research on docs and learn about HT and the industry, and much more even. It`s a great place and will stay so, if only some things would be handled a bit differently. Like some more honesty and transparence, and foremost more strict recommendation selection based solely on the quality of the work and not how it would affect the moneyflow, as well as stricter and more patient friendly and honest sanctions when clinics are not able to maintain the standards. Anyways.. Maybe I`ll come back some day, but for now it`s just consuming too much of my time and energy. All the best, tc
  4. Dr. Dua's work is distinctly average. I'd vote no if I thought votes carried half as much weight as we're led to believe.
  5. Guys, Like the world at large, this forum is full of dissenting opinions. While I can appreciate that the process we used to recommend physicians isn't perfect, we do our best to ensure physicians we recommend are meeting our high standards. As part of the prescreening process, members of this forum are invited to weigh in. However, we do not base our decision strictly on input publicly posted on this topic. In addition to the standards for recommendation that I have link to several times, the prescreening process looks at the following (in no particular order): 1. A physician's background, credentials, experience, technique, tools, etc. 2. His/her reputation amongst their colleagues 3. Private and public feedback provided by physicians recommended by this community, actual patients, and forum members. 4. Naturalness of the end result 5. Willingness to be transparent and held publicly accountable Dr. Dua appears to be doing state of the art hair transplantation using all of the latest techniques and tools. He also was given a unanimous "yes" by over 10 physicians recommended by this community who provided private feedback. In my opinion, his results and technique is solid and meets our standards recommendation. While public feedback on this topic was mixed, the feedback received overall, was more positive than negative. I understand that in some respects, members to have to trust that the publishers of this community would not approve a physician for recommendation unless we felt strongly about their technique and results. Frankly, many physicians have been turned down privately before they even get to the stage. Others have been turned down when they get to this stage. In fact, Dr. Bhatti was originally turned down due to multiple concerns expressed by other leading physicians recommended by this community. However, since they have since been resolved, he has been approved. But it took a long time for him to pass our prescreening process. For those who feel that physicians shouldn't have a vote, I disagree. Physicians who perform state-of-the-art cutting edge hair transplants certainly are qualified to evaluate another physician. Physicians typically provide private feedback because they would not want to publicly disparage another physician. However, in the past, we have seen many physicians express genuine concerns about a physician we are considering. As a result, they never made it to the public prescreening process because we agreed with their concerns. In this case, there doesn't seem to be a real solid reason not to recommend Dr. Dua. Overall, I believe his results are high-quality and meet our standards. Thus, I feel that we should give them a chance. As for the recommendation process as a whole, once I create the page on the specifics of our process, I will be interested in feedback from members of this community who would like to constructively help refine the process. We are certainly open to constructive feedback and we do take member input seriously. But we do a lot when considering a doctor, that extends beyond a simple majority vote. I hope and trust that members of this community recognize that we would not approve a doctor for recommendation unless we feel strongly that they've met our standards. I personally turn down a multitude of applicants monthly simply because they do not meet our standards. Physicians to do not perform hair transplantation as the leading procedure, results that don't appear to be refined enough, etc. Frankly, if we approved every physician willing to sponsor our discussion forum and website, we would be recommending about 20 times the number of physicians we recommend now. Our prescreening process is very selective and we will always continue to keep our standards high. I hope members will continue to trust that we always will look out for the patient's best interest. Best wishes, Bill
  6. Let me get back one last time, only on here. I don`t know how Spanker (whom I always highly respected btw) came to his 9:7 ratio. Here are the relevant posts: PRO User: 1. "KO" Post # 5 (and many others, Quote: "I think this is a site for guys who can hit pretty well") 2. "BUSA" Post # 26 3. "Superchunk" Post # 57 (5th post on this forum) 4. "1978matt" Post # 63 (Quote: "All things considered this doctor deserves to be recommended." No commiting to the raised issues) CONTRA: 1. "Rawkerboi" Post # 8 2. "NaMo" Post # 10 3. "1966kph" Post # 11 4. "wwiizzkkiidd24" Post # 12 5. "delancey" Post # 15 5. "fisher4man" Post # 25 6. "Questionmark" Post # 35 7. "Gram" Post # 41 8. "HARIRI" Post # 44 9. "Raj_Jayukdht" Post # 62 Whether "Spanker" voted against or remained neutral is a matter of interpretation. Considering Post # 4 and 38, and Spanker`s ability to navigate these waters like a high ranking diplomate, it to me is a clear "No, at least not yet". If Spanker would have voted in favor mentally, he would have expressed it directly. So counting the votes only, not considering their substantiated reasoning, it would be a ratio of 9 or 10:4. A clear case. But this is not what this should be about, I know that, and you know that. It should be a matter of argumentation, and substance. It`s not only on how many people vote, but on how and why they are substantiating their vote. And that`s the crucial point here: Not only do we have a clear quantitative vote against the recommendation, it`s also the case that the refusing comments got backed up by strong and meaningful argumentation, while the raised points never got adressed really. On the other side we have KO (whom I am not really sure about in the meantime), BUSA (who didn`t adress points like the striking lack of patient reports (while there is one from 2013 on here who had A FAIL with Dr. Dua!!), the lack of caucasian patient cases, his questionable crown work etc.), a total newbie (which imho was kinda odd), and 1978matt (whom I respect in general, but we don`t have to agree on everything). Votes were clear, questions and requests to the moderators and the clinic remained open, we waited for answers, and suddenly - dadaaaa - he gets recommended. Case closed. This is just disgusting! Then just write on the top of your page "We`re all about money", cancel the hypocritical recommendation threads and don`t act as if this site would be about choosing an elite of the top surgeons of the world, as if it would be about members honest, knowledgeable and intelligent participation and votes. I miss Mickey, he used to lead that tug-of-war a long time with incredible strenght and passion. This is just consuming too much of my energy. Not worth it. And I do get how difficult the situation is for the mods. It`s just risking to drift in a wrong direction these days, and I want to set a little mark. A questionmark
  7. As said in the Dr. Dua recommendation thread, I`m leaving this site. Thus, I will not comment on this thread anymore, but I will have a look on how things develop. All the best to you all, especially the OP, I hope you get what you deserve, and I hope the doc will as well. Bye
  8. Lol I`ll leave this site at last. And it`s not because I`m saying Dr. Dua is a bad surgeon. I just don`t like hypocrisy. Thanks to everyone involved on here, all the members, most surgeons, also the moderators, especially Blake and David. All the very best, time will tell how things will work out here...
  9. Guys, I appreciate all the detailed thought and input everyone has put into this topic. As you know, recommending physicians is a collaborative process that includes inviting members to weigh in on all physicians we are considering. The standards for recommending physicians can be found here. To learn more about how we recommend hair transplant surgeons, click here. We are also working on another page that more clearly defines the process surgeons we are considering for recommendation go through. Stay tuned. There's been a lot of mixed feedback regarding whether or not to approve Dr. Dua for recommendation. However, after a lot of discussion, it looks like most members have come down on the side of "yes". Furthermore, he's gotten excellent feedback and reviews from physicians recommended by our community. His experience and credentials look good as do his results. Not every decision we make will be popular with all members. However, we strongly consider all feedback before making a final decision. In my opinion, Dr. Dua is doing solid work and meets our standards for recommendation (click the link above to view them). In conjunction with his credentials, reputation amongst his colleagues, feedback, experience and results, I feel strongly that we should give Dr. Dua a chance and approve him for recommendation. Like all physicians we recommend, he will be required to continue presenting examples of his work each month on our forum. Furthermore, we will continue to collect feedback from his actual patients as they present their experiences and results on our forum. Congratulations to Dr. Dua. To view his recommendation profile, click here. Best wishes, Bill

  11. omg that sounds like a real nightmare :I I also think the recommendation and - in cases - dismission criteria should be tightened rather than loosened. Of course it`s up to each individual case.. Bad results happen, and certain faults can happen. Misunderstandings will always happen.. It`s only these absolute no-gos (like the ones you described) which are left without the coherent consequences that make me raise eyebrows.. (Actually this gets a bit offtopic imo though, Dr. Dua seems to deliver good work and doesn`t deserve to have all this mentioned in this thread. Some arguments like the "densepacking" one were unfair or even ridiculous imo, but still I rest my case that we should wait for more information over a longer period of time. We for example would need to see his ability to operate with caucasian hair as well, for instance. So far this always had been an issue (an rightly so imo) with Asia based docs. I dunno if we have seen any crown work result? In this case http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/178210-patient-results-dr-dua-6000-grafts-2.html judging from the immediate post op pic, the graft placement doesn`t seem to follow the natural "vortex" pattern in my eyes.. But I can be wrong, we`d need to see the result pictures.. So we`d definitely at least need to see much more, but thats just my opinion, it`s up to the mods to decide in the end anyway..)
  12. You may want to look up Dr. Kapil Dua. He is supposedly very good in India. My Dermatologist one of the top in Bangalore recommended him. There is another doctor in Pune who is supposed to be the best in India. Will let you know his name once I find out.
  13. I do agree with Spanker. I dont think Dr. Dua deserves to be recommended due to his unsatisfying results. So far the only 2 Indian surgeons I would acknowledge are Dr. Bhatti and Dr. A. That's it!
  14. Actually, BUSA, necrosis can be caused by a restriction in blood supply to tissues (ischemia) as well as by infection. Ischemia is a common cause of a kind of necrosis known as Coagulative Necrosis. But you're right -- packing at 55-60 fu's/cm2, as discussed by Dr. Dua, has not commonly proven to be a problem with modern ht technique. The most common problems with overpacking seem to occur at more extreme attempts, and seem mostly to manifest in poor graft survival and scarring, like the repair case by Dr. Konior that Matt linked to in this thread. We don't know the cause of the case of necrosis that KO mentioned because the patient disappeared and the clinic didn't comment, but it was gnarly.
  15. I remember this one too, Matt! Fantastic repair by Dr. K of a too-densely packed case by another clinic. I think this was just scar tissue, not necrosis -- but it did demonstrate problems that can result from trying to pack too densely, 100 fu's/cm2 in this case (yikes!). I don't think that packing at the densities discussed by Dr. Dua (55-60 fu's/cm2) have proven to pose a significant risk either of necrosis or of graft death + scarring.
  16. Whether or not necrosis can result from densepacking, I think that in any case it should not be used as an argument AGAINST a surgeon that he is able to perform densepacking... (And beside, Dr. Feller pointed out that - quote - "IMPROPER dense packing can lead to necrosis". I guess there is no basis at all in assuming Dr. Dua would be incapable to do proper, skillful and responsible densepacking). I don`t think this argument got brought up in all the other "potential recommendation" threads on here so far, and rightly so. To say it with busas words: "smh" That said, imo we`d all need to see more of Dr. Duas work in order to get a sufficient picture to vote in favor or against his recommendation. That also implicates that for now I`d vote against it.. He came up only recently and presented a couple of results which are neither bad nor very good, and now he gets presented for recommendation, yet? I find that rather peculiar. Why the hurry? Imo we`d need to wait for patients documentations over a longer period of time as well as further presentations of the clinic to get the necessary picture. Just as it used to be.
  17. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/178210-patient-results-dr-dua-6000-grafts.html Dr. Dua should clarify issues raised in this thread. (whether this patient had 2 or 3 sessions?) This was not a transparent presentation from a (potentially recommended) clinic. Honesty/transparency is more important than the results. We all know that, the meaning of such a statement is that the clinic has experience on FUT but try to learn and practice FUE (FUE beginners), then I agree with KO on his comment "here are a lot of "average" surgeons recommended here,", so, Dr. Dua may be also recommended. And KO also said before that he could do FUE surgery, then he might also be considered as a recommended FUE surgeon here in soon time; seriously. I recommend not to try this because very dense (unnecessary and also just wasting grafts over small areas) packing (too much incisions) might impair the blood supply of the transplanted area, then skin necrosis may develop. We have some examples for that here. As I said before, honesty is more important than the results and Dr. Rua should also learn and accept that 5000-6000 grafts from scalp with FUE is possible with the current FUE techniques and provide great treatment when appropriate for the patients. (ie: for a patient with NW 6, 200 cm2 transplant area, and much more important than unnecessary dense packing with 55-60 grafts per cm2. I have not understood yet whether Dr Rao is otolaryngologic surgeon or something else?, (about his specialty since there is no such a medical/ surgical branch as Hair Transplantation) and I am also confused about where he does his operations (in Dubai or India, in a branching HT centers??) My vote? Who cares? Moderators have decided already. I congratulate Dr. Dua for his membership.
  18. I think in this case, the quote "follow your gut" comes into play. I've had some bad feelings about physicians in the past and despite what appeared to be quality on the outside, my gut feeling told me not to proceed. It turned out later, I was right and I was glad I never presented them. In this case, my gut instinct says to give him a chance. But his continued recommendation will be contingent upon him continuing to present examples of his results. The one thing I really like about Dr. Dua is that he's highly academic and dedicated to higher education. He's either attended or led dozens of workshops and gives lectures around the world on state of the art hair restoration. His technique and procedure is also very refined using blades as small as .8mm which is on par with other leading surgeons recommended by this community. Based on everything I've seen and heard, including all the positive feedback we received from big name physicians recommended by this community, my gut instinct says to give him a chance. Bill
  19. Spanker, Keep in mind that he is only being considered for recommendation at this time not Coalition membership. All the physicians you listed are Coalition members which is the next tier up in providing world class ultra refined results. I believe Dr. Dua is doing highly refined work. However, I'd want to see more before considering him for the Coalition. Best, Bill
  20. 1966kph, In addition to this topic we garner input from our recommended physicians and send out a newsletter. We received a number of private responses to the newsletter from bith patients and physicians. All if the input was positive. Dr. Dua seems to be highly respected amongst his peers and leads many workshops and educational seminars. He has also been commended in his results. I look forward to more input. Best wishes, Bill
  21. Dr. Dua, Thanks for presenting this patient. From what I've seen so far, your work and results are very impressive. Do you have any photos showing this patient's crown after the results from the second procedure matured? I'd like to see what the crown and the entire top of the head looks like now that he has 6000 grafts covering the entire top of the scalp. I look forward to seeing more examples of your work and results in the coming days. Best wishes, Bill
  22. Hi Dr. Dua, Thank you for sharing this introduction to your strip technique. Quick question: 1) I see part of the dissection process is occurring under loop magnification and another part with microscopic magnification. What portion of the graft dissection occurs under a microscope? Is there a reason why part of the dissection process is aided by loop magnification instead of microscopic magnification? Thanks. Look forward to your reply.
