  1. Hello everyone, I have a HT scheduled on the 20th of this month with the one and only Dr. Bisanga in Brussels, Belgium. My case is very small and based on the information provided to me from Dr. Bisanga's rep i will be only needing around 2000-2500 grafts. I choose Bisanga because of his outstanding reputation on this forum and his recognition around the Hair transplant surgeon community in general. I hope i made the right decision by picking Dr. Bisanga for this procedure. I also looked into Dr. Lupanzula, Dr. Erdogan, Dr. Keser, Dr. Lorenzo and Dr. Vogel. Dr. lorenzo and Dr. vogel advised me to take Finasteride for now and to postpone the hair transplant because i am too young. Dr. Lupanzula said 2000 grafts and i am still waiting to hear back from Dr. Erdogan and Dr. keser My goals for this procedure are to restore my frontal hairline and add some grafts to cover up my balding temporal area. I am 28 years old, currently not taking any medication but i have ordered my first batch of Finasteride just for trial purposes to see how my body reacts to it. I am adding a few pictures that i took today, hopefully i can get some encouraging and educational information from you guys. Let me know who is the best suitable surgeon for my scenario. Thanks i will keep y'all posted
  2. Hi guys! Im new here in this great community, but definitely not new to hairloss stuff. I already had a fair research with a help of this forum and users experiences, as part of my journey to my (soon) HT. I will tell my story in short. Im 30, and been suffer from hairloss for about 10 years. There are no words to describe how this has been effecting my life, Im pretty sure more than almost anybody else here. I always have been concern with my look to a level of obsession, and in some point I realized I have BDD (body dysmorphic disorder) , Started as a teenager, got in depression cause I didnt like my appearance. But with time I grew up nice and was very pleased, till hairloss kicked in. I can actually remember the very day it started lol, I noticed my temples receded a tiny bit, and got panicked immediately. and from that point, it was doomed. I became obssesed with my hairloss 24/7, it increased my overall bdd to a new levels. I immediately jump on meds, but they didnt stop it, dont know if they did anything but I just kept taking them. with the years hairloss kept advancing slow but steady - major temple recession, front hairline receded a bit, and thinning on top. I realize in some point that HT is my only option to get my hair back and actually get my life back, and did a research 2 years ago and consultation with both Bisanga and Lupanzula, which both were great, but I ended up deciding to postpone it for several reasons. And now it is the time for sure. So, to the point, I need your help and opinions on any matter here that can help me get the best that I can. I added pics below. My goal is to restore my hairline and temples - This is the most important for me, I have to have a good frame, and preferable good density in hairline and behind it. I want to lower a bit the hairline and even consider to reconstruct the temples points a bit. As about the procedure type - I thought Im going for FUE all the time, but after reading in this forum Im not so sure. I read alot of advantages for FUT - you can get more grafts from your donor, the yield is higher, and overall better chance for more quality results, is that true? Yes of course there is a scar, but first Im not going to shave my head never in my life. I do shave the back and sides closer than the top of course, but not on zero guard, so im not sure how much of a problem it will be. Also, the price is lower, which is a plus, but I want to say here that generally price is only second priority for me. Second, Im still not sure which doctor to choose. Im from middle east, and the best for me would be someone from Europe (I dont even consider turkey). currently in my list are Bisanga - great surgeon, care about his patients, I already had consultation with him in the past and I got very good impression. but he specialize mainly on FUE, and if I decided on FUT I guess there are better options? Also, is his type of work considered dense packing? Im not sure. I would love to get good density in the front. De Freitas - which has amazing results, but im not sure about waiting list, does someone here knows what to expect? and also, I heard that communication is problematic since he speaks spanish. I dont know, but it seems like an issue to me. Feriduni - great doctor as well. but most of his cases look too conservative to me. and he is also specialize on FUE (?) what you think? Dr.Maras from HDC, cyprus - He is a great, reputable surgeon, with great results. And although he is recommended doctor here, I dont see many posts about him, or even mentions, when people here talk about the best doctors. I wonder why is that, wouldnt you consider him in the same level as the other top tier doctors in this list? Im not sure about his specialty in FUT though. But the good thing is his clinic very close to me, and actually has representation in my country. Hattingen - I heard about this clinic here, and saw some good results posted by them, but not alot of patient results. I do read many opinions of people praising this clinic, but I really cant tell I guess... The rest of the options are in US/Canada. I mean, I really hate flights, and long flights to canada or US seem like nightmare for me. Im not afraid of flights, Im just kind of big guy and it's really uncomfortable for me to sit there for so many hours. But since I cant compromise on the outcome even a bit, I guess I would have to take them into account as well. in my list: Dr Hasson from H&W - I read so many great things about Hasson. Looked for lots of patients posted results. not one negative review, and almost all are amazing, and also lots of cases similar to mine, with outcome I would kill for. I think he is actually number one for me in the list, since he does great FUT as well as FUE. The only problem is the distance about 13 hours flight. What do you think? would you fly so far for this? it really bothers me... and what if, god forbids, I will need a touch up or something? those flights can be very inconvenient. Im not even talking about frontal consultation, which Im not sure if they require it before the procedure. Dr.Konior - also great doctor as I read hear and some other places, but I really know less about him than the others. Im still in the research phase so I will get some more knowledge on those doctors and other that come up. This list is not closed at all, I would be happy to hear any (honest) opinion or suggestion. I would appreciate any response, and you can be sure that I will share with you my experience, when it happen, hopefully soon. Pics attached look really bad when it is not styled and combed... but I need to show them.

  4. Hi Everyone! I just came back from my surgery with Dr.Lupanzula and his crew. Some people know that i have done two hair transplantats with Dr.Keser in the past, one just a year ago. The goal with this third and hopefully last transplant was to add temple points and fill in the mid-scalp that have been thinning out over the last 6 years not using meds, made evident too me when shaving for my last hair transplantat, and of course my sensitive barber also pointed it out . Im now on medication(fin) since a year back and actually going to try topical finasteride 1% that Lupanzula gave to me, hoping for less side effects. My total graft count as of now is 6543 FUE grafts. Lupanzula told me my donor was extraordinary thick leaving me with additional 2-3k grafts in the bank for future transplant if needed. I have only good things to say about Dr Lupanzula and his crew. Very professional, kind and effective. Dr Lupanzula does all the extraction and incisions by himself leaving the placing of the grafts to his technicians. They are very helpful, welcoming and responding and im very happy with the work. looks really clean and im hopping for great results. The graft counts: 932 singles 933 doubles 965 triples 152 quardruple 5 quintpule Going to keep you guys updated in the process. feel free to ask me any questions! Thank you.
  5. Hi guys, So I am just "another dude" with a hair loss problem like all of you here haha. I am 28, diffuse NW5 pattern. Been losing my hair since 21 years old. Once I lost my hairline completely (except forelock) i became self conscious about it and started growing out hair to cover that spot and for the last 3 years I've been doing it quite well (thanks to hair spray!). Medical Treatment This year in January I started using Minoxidil 5% with dermaroller with some good results. I felt like I'm not loosing any more hair, but actually regaining it back. You can check out my separate thread for that. After long debates I also decided to get on board with Finasteride, but started with super low dosage of 0.25 mg twice a week to check how my body will react to that. Looked like it was all good, so I increased dosage to 0.5 mg 3 times a week and eventually 1 mg/day. Been on a full dose for the last 3-4 months now and looks like it works great for me. Don't see any hairs falling out for quite some time already, so I feel my MPB is stable. At this point I believe medical therapy will keep improving my crown and mid scalp, so I just need to get the front done via HT. Today, in day to day life I'm not thinking too much about my hair, unless it's windy and it blows away my comb over and gives a great view for people of my bald front lol! That's the worst thing that's happening in my day haha. Well, anyway.. Moving on.. Hunt for a surgeon After a year of intense research, long debates and countless before & after's I finally decided to book in a surgery! Super excited to finally get it done. Originally I started looking at Turkey for it's affordability. Checked pretty much every clinic out there where Doctor is involved in surgery at some point (bypassing all these hair mills!). Learned a lot of things a long the way so it made my list much smaller. Got tons of proposals from different clinics starting from "one and done" types of clinic, to more expensive ones like Asmed. Most of doc's are doing incisions only and leaving the rest for techs and since we all have limited donor supply and truly just 1 shot to make it or brake it, I have decided for myself that I want Dr. himself to do most crucial parts of surgery. Following that mindset I found couple of surgeons: Dr. Demirsoy Does 1 patient a day Does extractions & incisions himself Lots of great reviews on forums Fits my budget One thing bothering me he wanted to do 4000-4500 grafts over 1 day. After some debates I decided not to go for it. I am a proponent of smaller amounts over few days to preserve grafts, donor and doc could focus more on procedure itself, especially extractions and not waste any precious grafts. Dr. Pekiner Lots of positive feedback Does extractions & incisions himself Does 1 patient a day Charging almost twice more At this point I decided not to focus on money (thanks for my research!) and be open for more expensive options. Now, here is a things that was bothering me. He suggested 3000 grafts for the frontal part, from which 2500 would be extracted from scalp and 500 from beard. I really don't feel like using beard grafts for my first procedure! Just doesn't sounds right. Also patient adviser said that Dr. Pekiner will not change his mind and that's the only thing he would do. No negotiations. Obviously I didn't feel nice about it, so I decided to keep looking. I decided to get out of Turkish market and start looking from across the world. I had 2 live consultations with Dr. Bisanga and Dr. Lupanzula where both confirmed my great donor. Both suggested to be conservative and everything looks great, but the amount of money they are charging was sadly out of my reach. At some point I been watching so many videos on YouTube from Dr. Jose Lorenzo and always been amazed of his work. Obviously he was charging a big buck for his stellar job, but one thing that got my attention was he started working with Dr. Bruno Ferreira at some point over the last few years. I was "mhm.. If this guy is good enough for Dr. Lorenzo, he must be good". So I looked him up. Turns out Dr. Ferreira has a lot of experience in HT. He was mainly working for other clinics and now for Dr. Lorenzo in Madrid. He has also his own clinic in Portugal where he is based. The problem I found is he has very, very limited exposure online of his own work, only because most of his time he was working for someone else, meaning, someone else owns the rights for before/after. Despite this fact, every case he presented for me was a "wow" case. Recently I spoke with Joe Tillman & Spencer Kobren on their show and asked what's their opinion on this young doctor and was pleasantly surprised that they know this guy very well and in their opinion his job is stellar. So here we are. I send him my standard email and I've got the best online assessment I've ever seen! It was a great surprise of his attention to detail from his initial impression, to medical treatment, to prognosis, to HT plan consisting of two separate surgeries to achieve full recovery. Not a typical "copy - paste" type of response. He even convinced me to jump on Finasteride full dose 1mg/day, which I'm glad I did! Dr. Ferreira proposed 3000-3500 grafts (will decide on live consultation after he "gets his hands on my scalp") Surgery will be done in 2 consecutive days. At this point we decided to go for frontal restoration first, which is my main concern. After almost 40 emails back and forth and ~45 min video chat (Yes, with Dr. himself!) I finally decided - this is it, this is my Dr! Booked my surgery with him on January 28-29, 2020. Fingers crossed! P.S. Dr. Ferreira is quite OCD/perfectionist. I guess that's the best thing a patient could hear about his doctor! What I'm looking for right now is I need advise from you guys. I booked my hotel in Porto (30 seconds away from clinic hahaha ) from 27th of Jan to 2nd of Feb, so transplanted grafts will have 4 days to "settle down" and will less likely to be dislodged and whatnot. What shall I buy before surgery so I stay as comfortable as possible? Any special travel pillow? Aloe Vera gel for donor post-op? Any special hat for post-op? Tie my hands to bed for the first 7 nights, so I don't scratch recipient area while sleeping? Any help is appreciated! Super excited to get this finally done! Many thanks. Rolandas

  17. Hi Everyone,I'd like to present a retrospective patient testimonial that I have taken from a French forum (please see below). This will hopefully give you an insight into our clinic and how Dr. Lupanzula and our team operate.Kalytreza 2655 Hello everyone,I come to you to share my future transplant experience which will start in a little more than a week.Indeed I scheduled an intervention on 8 and 9 August in Brussels with Doctor Lupanzula.Estimation of follicular units planned in FUE, from 2200 to 2800 UF.I would try to update the forum with pictures as often as possible.Below below my photos to date before the ball to zero, never try elsewhere. Hello,Here I am back from Brussels since yesterday, I can tell you that everything went well with Dr. Lupanzula, friendly and very professional. These two assistants are charming and have allowed me to have a good time.I enclose all the photos of these two days, the doctor has kindly taken the pictures with my digital, the photos are not very good qualities. Here is the number of implanted grafts:1 UF: 5882UF: 11663 UF: 8294 UF: 72TOTAL UF's = 2655 Number of hair 5695I would update from time to time. Before and after shaving: End of the first day ... End of the second day, ouf! Final result: The donor areas at Ar-Left up and Ar-right down. To finish the 2 assistants who sort out the follicles. We can see the instruments used, the two punches used at the bottom to the media are of diameters 0.8mm and 0.9mm. Left and right are the famous syringes of anesthesia, for infos, they are not pleasant, I asked for smaller but not possible. To be continued ... Hello everyone, updated at + 8 days:Here I finally pass the course of the 1st week From today I can make my first shampoo with Mixa BB, after using the shampoo Isobétadine of course.First circular movement on the transplant, wah it rains crusts in my shower, strange sensation of touching its small peaks, I do not rub too much, history of not too aggressed, I rinse to the maximum to evacuate the crusts, surprising the difference between The photos before the shower and afterwards. (See below). A close look at some crusts, but do not insist on removing them!My scalp seems to take a nice light pink color, from this day I will apply Gel to Aloe Vera 98%, Bio product, Advised by Dr. Lupanzula. My overall impression is pretty good at first glance. What do you think ?Hello, back from my holidays I come to you with the new photos on D + 19!To start with, I started to lose my grafted hair from the 13th day post op I can tell you that at this time there is a doubt even if I knew that one day they will fall!As you can see from the pictures, my hair grows normally, and you can clearly see baldness, I used to get used to all those little hair that hid the misery.Second picture, the difference between D + 8 and D + 19, the gulfs reappear clearly.I now understand that there is this famous cape of the "about 3 months" waiting before seeing the new hair. Name of Zeus, it will be long. Patience patience ...Hello everyone, here's an up-to-date photos at D + 38.As you may notice nothing to change except that my primary hair grows!I always have the recipient zone always pink, despite the aloe vera every night I estimate at least 1 month and a half waiting before the regrowth of grafts! Hello, updated photos at almost 2 months, nothing new, regrowth of my primary hair, and still no grafts, normal no ?, so patience! Hello,Here are the photos to M + 3, or finally a hair that make their appearances on the two golf courses! It is not huge but it changes at the level of the LF, it starts to take shape.I always put Minox in Mousse Rogaine in order to accelerate all this, as a bit of the Round up! I think the most difficult course has passed!Hello, I come back to you for the 6 months post op,as you can notice there has been a good evolution over the last two months, the front line is well drawn, it lacks more than the density on the gulfs and the ' Back of the toupet, we see it on the pictures above!I am still satisfied with the evolution, but I still have doubts about the growth of new grafts, I no longer see small hair pointed at my helmet, there is more to hope for a thickening of the Grafted hair for hidden a plus plus the skull. If you have comments, do not hesitate The continuation to 6 months alwaysAlways at 6 months with close-ups:Photo at 6 months and a halfHello, I joined the pictures at 8 months, I zapped the pictures at 7 months, no interest for you!The first 8 photos are with wet hair. The last 2 dry hair.Good to say about the evolution in the last two months, no major evolution, I will even say that there is more evolution! I am still satisfied with the result it would miss more than a thickening of the hair it would be top, or perhaps new hair that appear, ok good I disconnect.Wet hair at 8 months.Hair wet at 8 months, backHAIR DRY 8 MONTHSFRONT VIEW AT 8 MONTHSI hope that it will density, especially at the level of the gulfs, we can notice the difference in density between the groom and the gulfs! I will continue to put Rogaine foam minox 5% until 12 months, after I will see Well it really costs an arm this luxury mousse chantilly I asked the doc by mail his opinion on the new photos.I hold you to the juice.Hello, attached photos at 12 months. (Wet and dry, capped)Thank you for all your comments during these 12 months, and thank you to the forum for giving me an important help in my choice of Doc.Good continuation to all. 22. Hi all, I've posted a couple of times on here previously. My story briefly is as follows: I'm in my early thirties, and have been noticeably losing my hair since around 2006 (so 10-11years), with the most rapid loss between 2012 and 2014. My father is a NW5 slowly progressing to a 6 (but he is 70!), I'm probably a NW5 too at present but progressing towards an NW6. My maternal grandfather had a full head of hair (maybe a NW2 or NW3 at worst), my paternal grandfather didn't (probably a NW6). Despite noticing my hair loss for the past decade or so, I haven't really taken any action. In 2011 I trialled minoxidil for 6 months, however stopped taking it after this time due to palpitations. It worked well, I noticed new hairs forming (in my hairline), however after I stopped taking it I noticed dramatic loss in a couple months or so (hence my worse loss probably being around 2012-2013). I never tried finasteride; I know, people are going to say; "why not?" or "just give it a try!". It's purely a personal decision; I do not wish to undergo any of those side effects nor have to take a pill for the rest of my life. If this stops me from getting a great result, then so be it. However, I am perhaps willing to try 1mg of Propecia 3x/week; that way it would be much cheaper and also I would hopefully at less risk of sides (it’s not just the sexual ones which concern me, I have a very high functioning job, and need to be on my A game all day; I don’t want the cognition side effects either). Anyways, I decided I would probably need multiple HT in 2013 and enquired at H&W with David Anderson. He was very amicable and he followed me up until 2016 when he left. I actually booked a 4500+ FUT megasession with Dr. Hasson, however unfortunately I had to cancel this due to no longer being available at the dates I had booked (as I would have to fly to Canada and back this was not possible in the short amount of time I had off). I was also uneasy about undergoing FUT due to the scar. I have already told myself as a last resort that if my hair gets really bad I will just have to keep it really short or buzzcut it, this would not be possible with FUT (and is just about a possible with FUE); I understand that FUE leaves scars too, don’t worry. They were very kind and considerate about all this and I thank them and their whole team for their professionalism. For sure if I needed a FUT they would be the first point of call; I had been researching for the last 5 years or so, and they definitely seemed the top. I then went researching for a surgeon who did FUE who was close by but affordable. My research brought up several familiar names: Lorenzo, Bisanga, Lupanzula and Erdogan. These (location wise) would all be feasible in my very limited time off and all their work shows great skill. However Lorenzo never replied to my emails until several months later and I decided I didn't want to fly in the end so ruled Spain (& Lorenzo out) and Turkey out and thus Erdogan. This left both Lupanzula and Bisanga as my top choices, they both had my dates available, and if I am correct Lupanzula worked previously with Bisanga? I was able to consult with Dr. Lupanzula over Skype however unfortunately logistically I was unable to meet him, however I was able to actually meet Dr. Bisanga in person and this definitely swung it for me. He was very amicable, and has many have commented he doesn't promise you the world, he is very realistic, conservative (the good kind!), honest and ethical. We decided that 3000-3500 grafts would be most appropriate with them concentrating on rebuilding the hairline and the frontal third. As you can see from my photos, the crown is also very bare, but I will have to therefore have another HT to potentially sort this out in the near future ± try propecia 3x a week. I was classed as a NW4V although I feel my hair is worse than that; it was probably made difficult for the doctor as I had my hair very short at the time of the consultation. In my eyes, hairline > crown coverage due to framing of the face.etc. My hair is quite thin, and my head is quite large, therefore I am not sure what sort of coverage I would need to get a good result, but thankfully my donor density was rated as decent with 80FU/cm2 all around. So, tomorrow I will have the first session of 3000-3500 grafts and then revisit my hair in 2 years time to either work further on the front, midscalp or deal with the vertex; depending on how much reserve I have. I’ll try to keep updated! Photos below are from January time; I can update with clinic photos tomorrow.
