  2. Hi guys! Im new here in this great community, but definitely not new to hairloss stuff. I already had a fair research with a help of this forum and users experiences, as part of my journey to my (soon) HT. I will tell my story in short. Im 30, and been suffer from hairloss for about 10 years. There are no words to describe how this has been effecting my life, Im pretty sure more than almost anybody else here. I always have been concern with my look to a level of obsession, and in some point I realized I have BDD (body dysmorphic disorder) , Started as a teenager, got in depression cause I didnt like my appearance. But with time I grew up nice and was very pleased, till hairloss kicked in. I can actually remember the very day it started lol, I noticed my temples receded a tiny bit, and got panicked immediately. and from that point, it was doomed. I became obssesed with my hairloss 24/7, it increased my overall bdd to a new levels. I immediately jump on meds, but they didnt stop it, dont know if they did anything but I just kept taking them. with the years hairloss kept advancing slow but steady - major temple recession, front hairline receded a bit, and thinning on top. I realize in some point that HT is my only option to get my hair back and actually get my life back, and did a research 2 years ago and consultation with both Bisanga and Lupanzula, which both were great, but I ended up deciding to postpone it for several reasons. And now it is the time for sure. So, to the point, I need your help and opinions on any matter here that can help me get the best that I can. I added pics below. My goal is to restore my hairline and temples - This is the most important for me, I have to have a good frame, and preferable good density in hairline and behind it. I want to lower a bit the hairline and even consider to reconstruct the temples points a bit. As about the procedure type - I thought Im going for FUE all the time, but after reading in this forum Im not so sure. I read alot of advantages for FUT - you can get more grafts from your donor, the yield is higher, and overall better chance for more quality results, is that true? Yes of course there is a scar, but first Im not going to shave my head never in my life. I do shave the back and sides closer than the top of course, but not on zero guard, so im not sure how much of a problem it will be. Also, the price is lower, which is a plus, but I want to say here that generally price is only second priority for me. Second, Im still not sure which doctor to choose. Im from middle east, and the best for me would be someone from Europe (I dont even consider turkey). currently in my list are Bisanga - great surgeon, care about his patients, I already had consultation with him in the past and I got very good impression. but he specialize mainly on FUE, and if I decided on FUT I guess there are better options? Also, is his type of work considered dense packing? Im not sure. I would love to get good density in the front. De Freitas - which has amazing results, but im not sure about waiting list, does someone here knows what to expect? and also, I heard that communication is problematic since he speaks spanish. I dont know, but it seems like an issue to me. Feriduni - great doctor as well. but most of his cases look too conservative to me. and he is also specialize on FUE (?) what you think? Dr.Maras from HDC, cyprus - He is a great, reputable surgeon, with great results. And although he is recommended doctor here, I dont see many posts about him, or even mentions, when people here talk about the best doctors. I wonder why is that, wouldnt you consider him in the same level as the other top tier doctors in this list? Im not sure about his specialty in FUT though. But the good thing is his clinic very close to me, and actually has representation in my country. Hattingen - I heard about this clinic here, and saw some good results posted by them, but not alot of patient results. I do read many opinions of people praising this clinic, but I really cant tell I guess... The rest of the options are in US/Canada. I mean, I really hate flights, and long flights to canada or US seem like nightmare for me. Im not afraid of flights, Im just kind of big guy and it's really uncomfortable for me to sit there for so many hours. But since I cant compromise on the outcome even a bit, I guess I would have to take them into account as well. in my list: Dr Hasson from H&W - I read so many great things about Hasson. Looked for lots of patients posted results. not one negative review, and almost all are amazing, and also lots of cases similar to mine, with outcome I would kill for. I think he is actually number one for me in the list, since he does great FUT as well as FUE. The only problem is the distance about 13 hours flight. What do you think? would you fly so far for this? it really bothers me... and what if, god forbids, I will need a touch up or something? those flights can be very inconvenient. Im not even talking about frontal consultation, which Im not sure if they require it before the procedure. Dr.Konior - also great doctor as I read hear and some other places, but I really know less about him than the others. Im still in the research phase so I will get some more knowledge on those doctors and other that come up. This list is not closed at all, I would be happy to hear any (honest) opinion or suggestion. I would appreciate any response, and you can be sure that I will share with you my experience, when it happen, hopefully soon. Pics attached look really bad when it is not styled and combed... but I need to show them.
  3. Hair loss in the African-Caribbean community is a widespread concern for both men and women. Along with with male pattern baldness, traction alopecia is a common issue for females due to tight braiding and extensions amongst other factors. Afro hair presents unique challenges and therefore requires specific expertise. The natural shape and design of the hairline can be vastly different than caucasian and asian patients. As opposed to the mostly straight follicle of caucasian and asian patients, typical characteristics associated with afro hair follicles are that the hair tend to be thicker and tightly curled. Such curvature of the hair extends below the scalp. The natural curvature of the follicle can be significant, often to the extent that the follicle when removed is actually in the shape of a letter C, meaning that it is essential to have a surgeon who has knowledge and experience of working with afro hair. A profound understanding of the punching and extraction protocol is essential when FUE is the most appropriate technique, as due to the curvature of the hair, transection presents a higher risk. Another crucial element is that your surgeon must have the appropriate punches and tools to best handle and manipulate afro hair. For the same reasons that the characteristics of afro hair present unique challenges, when a restoration procedure is performed correctly, these same hair characteristics offer great benefits. The naturally thicker and curlier hair can achieve an impressive illusion of density with a lesser graft count compared to most other hair types. Dr Bisanga is a leading expert in performing hair restoration surgery with afro hair and over the following weeks we will be presenting further patient results. Dr Bisanga wants to stay accessible and in touch with his patients. He is therefore currently offering video consultations. This will allow you to directly ask specific questions, discuss any concerns that you may have, and presents an opportunity to understand how Dr Bisanga would approach your restoration. If you do have any further questions regarding Dr Bisangas approach and what he feels would be appropriate for you personally, then please get in contact and we can schedule your video consult. Stay safe.
  4. Hi Afrohead, Please feel free to contact info@bhrclinic.com if you have any doubt or question. Dr. Bisanga could assess your case. Kind regards,
  5. Hi, I am wondering if anyone on this forum knows if Dr. Bisanga specializes in African hair? Or has any pics of his results for African patients. He also does trichophytic closures for FUT. Any opinions on this? Thanks.

  7. Great educational video from Dr.Bisanga regarding FUE on the higher NW scale hair loss sufferers and some interesting points raised.
  8. I can recall Dr. Bisanga, being very good at afrocentric hair, it would be great if @Raphael84 and @sl could share some examples on here.
  9. Hair Loss in Women Female hair loss is a common problem worldwide with a surprising figure of at least 50% of women experiencing loss to some degree. Dr Bisanga would like to present this message to briefly explain possible causes, symptoms and risk factors while offering solutions and advice on when to seek treatment, and which type of treatments may be appropriate. If you may have any further questions or queries about hair loss in women and would like to learn more, Dr Bisanga is available for video consultation to further discuss your concerns. Stay safe, keep in contact and let us know if you feel we may be able to help.

  11. I'm going to have my hair transplant with Dr. Bisanga to cover 2/3 of my upper scalp. The session is scheduled to take place in mid of July. I've had a consultation meeting with him last year and he recommended to transplant approx. 2700-2800 grafts in that area. Most important to me is that it will look natural. I've had a very good impression of his work and so I decided to go for it. As you can see on the pic there's still hair in the area where grafts will be transplanted. I'm a bit worried about how it will look like after the existing 'old' hair has fallen out and the transplanted hair remains. Obviously it will look thinner than with it but Dr. Bisanga said that it will look ok as he will place the grafts as if the area would be bald. I will share my experience here with you.
  12. Dear Forum UsersWe are delighted to announce that Dr.Bisanga will be in the USA on the 11 - 14 of April 2020 to hold consultations in both New York & LA respectively. These are free of charge and with limited availability but a great opportunity to have your hair loss examined including donor density measurements, check for miniaturisation, hair groupings and calibre, loss potential, suitability for surgery, surgery type, design, graft numbers etc. If interested then please feel free to send me an email:- stephen@bhrclinic.comVenues to be confirmed.Thank you.
  13. I meant if you are meds for hair loss like Finasteride or minoxidil? When I say strip I mean FUT. Going FUT first would be the best option and would help maximize your donor supply. Why would Dr. Wong not accept your case? I never said that. I think that they would be perfect. If you are absolutely dead set on FUE, you need someone with experience on doing mega-sessions 4 day surgery is a definite NO NO, someone like Eugenix Dr. Arika Bansal and Dr. Pradeep Sethi, check out their results on the forum. Also, take a look at Dr. Bisanga, and Dr. Reddy, he is one of the very best in the UK.
  14. I had an FUT transplant 5 weeks ago in Brussels with Dr. Bisanga. It was to fill in the frontal area. There were a total of 3503 grafts used. Here is the graft breakdown: • 1 Follicular Unit : 419 grafts • 2 Follicular Unit : 2018 grafts • 3 Follicular Unit : 637 grafts • 4 Follicular Unit : 429 grafts ----------------------------------------------------- I was in my mid 20s when I initially went to see Dr. Bisanga - 5 years ago (the before pictures I’ve added are from that time, hence the poor quality). He discovered that my donor density was pretty average and as I was quite young at the time, he suggested I wait a few years and get on medication to stabilise my hairloss. I started using finasteride (switched to dutasteride 2 years ago) and minoxidil, and thankfully they worked really well in halting my hairloss. My hair looked pretty much the same 5 years later, if not slightly more filled in some areas. I visited Dr. Bisanga once again a few months ago and he was happy to perform the surgery this time. ----------------------------------------------------- During the consultation on the morning of the procedure, I discussed with Dr. Bisanga if it was possible to keep as much of the little area in the front without shaving it (while also transplanting hairs in any thin areas there to add density). He said that as long as the thin areas are filled in it should be okay. I’m banking on the medication continuing to work so that the area remains strong. It's been the same since I started taking medication, maybe even a little bit thicker. If in the future the medication loses its effect and the area does start to thin and looks odd with the rest of the transplanted hair, I’ll get a second procedure to have it filled in. I decided to do this as I have a few formal events to attend in 3 months time and I don’t intend to tell anyone about my transplant. For now my hair is covered as I usually wear a hat in the winter anyway, and I’m able to wear a hat to work too. Hopefully, in a few weeks time, when the shaved native hair has grown out a bit, and using the longer unshaven hairs, I’ll be able to style my hair and cover the transplanted area. I’ll use hair fibers too if needed. ----------------------------------------------------- I’ve attached pictures below - starting from how my hair was before and ending with a few pictures taken today. Apologies for the poor quality of the before photos - they’re from 5 years ago. I didn’t have any recent photos of my hairloss. You can see from the post op pics that Dr. Bisanga has put quite a few grafts in the little unshaven area too (the thin part on one side). ----------------------------------------------------- 5 weeks in, I’m currently in the shedding phase - most of the transplanted hair has fallen out. I’ll be updating this post regularly. If anyone has any questions regarding anything I’d be happy to answer them. ----------------------------------------------------- Photos: Before Day 1 Post Op Day 2 Day 3 Day 6 Day 7 Day 9 Day 11 Day 14 Day 17 Day 18 Day 19 Day 23 Day 34
  15. The difference is the doctors are involved in all of their cases. Dr. Arika, performs some of the recipient sites, and Dr. Sethi performs the hairline recipient sites. Cinik did nothing besides the consultation. It’s a completely different scenario. Also, we’re talking about doctors and not technicians doing the work. I should remind you that another Coalition surgeon does the same thing. Dr. Bisanga, in his athens clinic has another junior doctor assist him in the work, and that’s how he charges less, but the option to go with him solely still exists. We should make the distinction clear between delegating to technicians and doctors, because it’s not the same.
  16. I wouldn't risk my head at 95% of the clinics in Turkey, even the ones that are so-called good doctors, don't have the best ethics. There are other affordable options like Dr. Bisanga, Athens clinic, Dr. Muresanu Hattingen Clinic in Switzerland, Dr. Arika Bansal and Dr. Pradeep Sethi in India. These are surgeons who actually carry out the work and have the results to back it up.
  17. Thanks for creating this, we’ve had so many questions. So, the surgery is carried out partially by another surgeon. That’s great. You’re still getting Dr. Bisanga, and another surgeon at a very low price, as opposed to just technicians.
  18. OP i personally really like Dr. Bisanga‘s work that I’ve seen. Post op is always super clean, donor is managed well, and I’ve heard he’s a really nice guy. Check out his results
  19. I think Dr. Lupunzula is fantastic, so is Dr. Bisanga, and Feriduni. If you want the lowest price for the highest quality I would take a look at Dr. Pradeep Sethi and Dr. Arika Bansal, they have excellent results on the forum. That said, never let price be your deciding factor.
  20. Hi everyone, I've been lurking on the forum for a while and did my research on HT and surgeons. I'm in New York City, but I will be travelling to Europe in June and this is where I would like to have the surgery done. I've sent pictures for online assessments to many top surgeons, but I was shocked realising the opinions were diametrically opposed in some cases. So, until now these are the ones I've contacted and their opinions. I need your help because I'm more confused than before: Dr. MARAS: won't do neither crown or hairline. Crown has too many hairs, hairline would look weird with only the temples done he said. Dr. BISANGA: went pretty aggressive with a quote of 2300 grafts in the crown, 1000 on the hairline. Eugenix India: said my hairs were good and dense. No need for a transplant. DHI Thessaloniki: said they would do 400-700 grafts on the crown, because there are still a lot of hairs, and reconstruct the hairline. Dr. Couto: no open online assessment at the moment and with a price tag of 5 euro per grafts is a bit too expensive. Dr. Demirsoy: waiting for a quote. Dr. Keser: waiting for an answer. Dr. Bruno Ferreira: waiting for an answer. Dr. De Freitas: waiting for an answer. A bit of a background. I'm 32 years old, 33 in October. Been on finasteride for 7 years, stopped because it destroyed my health. Current regimen is dermaneedling, scalp massages, deciem hair serum. I'm at the stage on thinking about my hairs everyday and getting concerned people will see my balding crown, so I would like to have the transplant done, but I'm scared of a bad outcome and to lose more hairs, due to shock loss. Call me mad, but I like DHI results that they have on their website, along with their videos. Looks really natural. They told me the clinic in Thessaloniki is their best and the doctors are really good. The price is really appealing as well. But I've read the reviews aren't really good, are they? I'm looking for a doctor doing most of the surgery, not a cattle farm in Turkey like Erdogan or Cinik. Someone really good reconstructing the crown. Other surgeons suggestions are welcome. My pictures attached at the bottom of the page. Thanks.
  21. BHR Clinic Dr. Christian BISANGA Age: 29 Technique: FUE Medication: Finasteride Donor densities: 70-80 FUs/cm2 Hair Caliber: Fine Total FU used:- 2500 * FU breakdown:- 1s 564 2s 983 3s 953 TOTAL: 2509 That means 2500 FU = 5389 Hairs. Average = 2,15 hairs/FU. The goal of this surgery was to rebuild hairline and temples. Pre-Post Surgery 8,5 Months Wet Hair Comparison 0-8,5 Months
  22. Wow this is an incredible transformation from where you started from. You certainly look happy in the after photos congratulations! Great work performed by Dr. Bisanga as always.
  23. @Portugal25 thanks for the reply. Are you not happy with your Dr. Rahal work? I am not sure which poor Rahal results you refer to. Everything I've seen so far has been nothing less than astonishing. Then again, same can be said for Dr. Hasson. Not so blown away by Dr. Bisanga really, hairline-wise at least. I'll likely plan a trip to Canada and see both Drs. in person. I did do a Skype consult with Dr. Vories once, I have seen 3 or 4 really nice results from him and do like that he does it himself. OTOH if a clinic has well-trained technicians trained under the Dr. and following his technique preicseely this seems like a viable approach. If Dr. V had more results to look at I liked I'd likely go with him, especially since 5K grafts will be 1/3 or more less. Do you have any poor Dr. R results you can point to?
  24. Dr. Vories is a great choice, and affordable in the US. That said, Dr. Hasson has had some Home runs for FUE. I think you should really consider Bisanga, I’d stay away from most Turkish surgeons, I’ve seen some unethical practices.
